Weekend Snapshot: Digitalis or Foxgloves

Digitalis
It is Mother's Day and my dear husband bought some presents for me and his mom.  The folks are here to visit and celebrate Mother's Day with us.  Darling daughter is very glad also that her grandparents are here.

Aside from Mother's Day greeting cards, my dear husband bought balloons and this strange-looking flowering plant.  When my mother-in-law looked at the tag, she said it's called Digitalis.  It needs full sun to shade.  Good.  I hope it will survive.  I'll do my best to take care of it.

Flowers Picked From The Yard

One of the joys of being a mom is when your child brings you a flower he picked from the yard.  As of the moment, Dandelion is an addition to my favorite flowers.  My DD always bring me a flower whenever we go outside for a walk.  Very sweet.

On the other hand, my hubby and DD brought me a beautiful bouquet of red roses with a cute greeting card on Mother's Day.  Oh how I love them so much!

Special Gifts For Moms On Mother's Day

Tomorrow is Mother's Day.  What special gift are you thinking to give to your moms?  Maybe you might take into consideration giving your moms new kitchen supplies or electrics.  If she likes cooking or baking,  a new set of baking dishes or utensils will do.  Like my mom, some mothers love to cook.

My mom has been talking about new pots and pans.  I don't blame her.  We only had two pots and two pans.  Now that we have the opportunity to buy these kitchen items, my mom is very happy to get new sets of cookware.  She's thinking of cooking and selling food so she will have extra income.  I remember that she used to do that when I was younger.  As a supportive daughter, I will do the best I can to provide my mom and the whole family with any assistance I can give.

Mothers are wonderful.  They give everything for the sake of the family.  Love your moms.

Happy Mother's Day!

Weekend Snapshot: My First Mother's Day

It's my first Mother's Day but there's no big celebration.  It was a very pleasant day.  We had lunch date at Chilli's.  I like their Monterey Chicken but I tried the spare ribs that moment.  That was good ribs!

My honey surprised me with this Calla Lily, balloon, and greeting cards.  I haven't seen pink Calla Lilies before.  I thought they are always white.  He said that's what genetic engineering can do.

Friends Meeting

I am excited about seeing my friends on Monday.  Gladly, my two girl friends got the same day off so they are able to schedule this meeting.  Hopefully the weather is pleasant next week. It will be our post-Mother's Day get-together.  Nice huh?  That would be fun, I bet.  Hoping for a wonderful travel too.

Surprising Gesture Of Love

Tired and hungry from work. My body is ready to relax and my stomach is ready to digest a delicious dinner. But these were before I got home.

My honey cooked a two-course meal this evening. He made lomein and stir-fry shrimp and pork with vegetables. I thought of this as a special dinner for Mother's Day to me. Haha!

The surprising gesture was, my honey has a bouquet of red roses for me on the table. It comes with a greeting card. Though it is not a Mother's Day card, the words written in it are enough to touch my heart. It is a mother-to-be present for me. This morning I thought if my honey does not come up with something, I will be very disappointed. But he surprised me!

Mother's Day Gift To Me

OMG! I did not expect this lovely gift from my girl friend D. She came to me in my area to get her pass for the things she shopped at Zales. Suddenly she said, "O Mar, this is for you. It's from me and N okay? For mother's day." Then she smiled. I know what for :) I was like, "Really? Oh, thank you so much. How sweet!" I was so surprised.

To The Mothers In The Family

Happy mother's day to my Mama, my sister Mildred, and Jennifer. A mother's love is is instinctual, unconditional, and everlasting.

"Mama, your care and constant advice has lingered in our minds as we grow up. I appreciate everything that you and Tatay did for us, your daughters and son. The discipline, values, and responsibility became a part of our lives. You never fail reminding us of what is coming.

Mildred, you are a mother of the two cute and adorable kids in the world. Though struggles came into your life in the first stage of motherhood, you never give up. Now I know you realized the responsibility of being a mother. I am happy that day by day, you become a stronger woman.

Jennifer, I know being a young mother is difficult. Giving birth makes us a complete woman. God blessed you a son to protect you when he grows up. I can see that you are doing your best to take care of your family. Your life as a mother is just starting. Always ask God's guidance in everything you do.

Being a mother is wonderful. So stay strong. May God bless you with wisdom and more love in your heart. I love you all."

This message comes from my heart. If only I can give each of them a big hug right at this moment. But that is okay. I talked to them earlier, gave my greetings, and expressed my message.
