He Does The Cooking

It's our wedding anniversary today.  My honey and I are happily and harmoniously married for five years.  I am very thankful that he has been very understanding.  Since the birth of our darling daughter, my attention has been focused more on her.  That leads to lack of time with cooking, doing the house chores, and anything else.  But with my honey's help and understanding, we are able to cooperate.  He does the cooking oftentimes.  That's why I love him more and more each day.

Celebrating Four Years Of Marriage Today

Today is our 4th Wedding Anniversary.  Amazing how time flies so fast and it seems like yesterday that I walked down towards the Gazebo in the Rose Garden of Tyler, Texas.  The wedding day was wonderful.  Though my family wasn't there to attend the memorable event in my life, I was still thankful for everything.

On Easter weekend we went on a trip to Tyler to celebrate Easter with my in-laws and, at the same time, to visit the place where we got married four years ago.  This time, a beautiful little princess is with us.  After lots of adjustments in married life, here we are standing in front of the Gazebo happy and blessed.

My family

As for the wedding anniversary gifts and stuff, I bought something for my honey.  But he will get it next weekend, before our trip to Oklahoma.  It is something he will be able to use in the kitchen because he likes cooking.  I wonder what he bought for me...hmm.

Traditional And Modern Gifts For 4th Wedding Anniversary

I am loving the Spring weather so far.  Although the winds are kinda chilly, the sunshine and the lovely blooms bring happy feelings to me.  The green grass smells nice and the birds sing happily in the trees as they feel the breeze.  Most of all excitement comes to me as soon as the Spring comes because in April my honey and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary.  I was a Spring Bride you know.

Three weeks from now and it is our 4th wedding anniversary.  I am trying to think of something to give as a gift for my honey.  They said that the traditional gifts for the 4th wedding anniversary are fruits or flowers.  The modern gift ideas are appliances.  Well, I think I'll go with the modern.  I know what to buy.  The problem is, when I get excited like this, I might give a hint.

How about you?  What do you love about Spring?

On The Spot: Love My Mug

Valentine's Day and my honey's treat for me is a lovely tall hearts mug and a Whitman's Chocolate Sampler in a heart box.  They were waiting on the table this morning.  I gave him lots of kisses, Hershey's Kisses. :)

Weekend Snapshot: My First Mother's Day

It's my first Mother's Day but there's no big celebration.  It was a very pleasant day.  We had lunch date at Chilli's.  I like their Monterey Chicken but I tried the spare ribs that moment.  That was good ribs!

My honey surprised me with this Calla Lily, balloon, and greeting cards.  I haven't seen pink Calla Lilies before.  I thought they are always white.  He said that's what genetic engineering can do.

Another Precious Moment

Oh April is here! Our wedding anniversary is two weeks away. We better book a hotel room soon. If not, we might end up in last minute preparation. Out-of-State travel again and, this time, we are traveling with baby. It is not a big celebration, but it is going to be one of the precious moments in my life.

Three years of marriage but still in the adjustment period. Days gone so fast. No complains. I am happy.

Tall And Sweet

I woke up late today. We did not sleep much last night because my baby woke up in the middle of the night wanting to eat. I am the one who always wakes up whenever my daughter squirms.

Like the previous Valentine's Day, my honey surprised me with chocolates. This time instead of flowers, he gave me this cute tall mug. Me and my baby has Valentine's cards too. As always, he makes my heart melt with his love notes.

Immigration Notice

'Got a notice from the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) in the mail reminding me to file Form I-751, Application to Remove Conditions on Residency. This is because my entry here in the USA is as Fiance(e) or K-1. It is my responsibility to file the petition to remove conditions in accordance to the US Immigration and Nationality Act. But it is a joint petition by me and my husband. I have to gather copies of documents (examples are not limited to), from the day we got married up to the present, to prove the relationship and that I entered the marriage in good faith.

Sure a lot of work on the paperwork. I know everything will be fine.

Today's Humor: Marriage Quotes

Smile. It is Monday :)

----------

-- At a cocktail party, one woman said to another, Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?" Yes, I am. I married the wrong man."

-- A lady inserted an 'ad' in the classifieds: "Husband Wanted". Next day she received a hundred letters. They all said the same thing: "You can have mine."

-- When a woman steals your husband, there is no better revenge than to let her keep him.

-- A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?" Father replied, "I don't know son, I'm still paying."

-- Young son: "Is it true Dad, that in some parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?" Dad: "That happens in every country, son."

-- Just think, if it weren't for marriage, men would go through life thinking they had no faults at all.

-- Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a big gut, and still think they are attractive to the opposite sex.

When You Realize The Importance Of Love...And More

My honey just came back from a business travel in New Jersey. For five days, I was home alone when he was away. This was the first time we're apart since I arrived here. But for a good reason, he had to take the trip.

Missing my honey during those days, I realized the importance of the love I have for him because he is my husband. Big and small things he does everyday mean so much to me.

1. hugs and kisses every morning
2. waking me up to work
3. cooking food
4. the snuggles on the couch while watching tv
5. the talks and teases
6. cracking jokes
7. making me a cup of coffee in the morning
8. ...and more

Sometimes being away from the one you love is good. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Today's Humor: Good Treatment

Bob went over to his friend Joe's house and was amazed at how well Joe treated his wife. He often told her how attractive she was, complimented her on her cooking and showered her with hugs and kisses.

"Gee," Bob remarked later, "you really make a big fuss over your wife".

"I started to appreciate her more about six months ago," Joe said. "It has revived our marriage and we couldn't be happier."

Inspired, Bob hurried home, hugged his wife and told her how much he loved her and said he wanted to hear all about her day. But she burst into tears. "Honey," Bob said, "whats' the matter?".

"This has been the worst day," she replied. "This morning Billy fell off his bike and broke his ankle, then the washing machine broke. Now to top it off, you come home drunk !".

A Birthday Gift From His Favorite Gift Wrapper

A gift to my honey's birthday. Wrapped in a multicolored gift wrapping paper is a Roundtree and York knit shirt. He loves shirts with collars but he is picky when it comes to the fabric. This one is made from organic cotton. Though he does not like the sound of it, he likes the shirt :)

I chose to wrap the gift in a multicolored paper because it looks pretty and cute. I wanted him to smile when gets his present. And he did. He loves it, of course. I am his favorite gift wrapper :)

Happy Birthday Hon! The message in the card truly expresses my thoughts for you and for us.

Today's Humor: Marriage and Men

- When a man decides to marry, it may be the last decision he'll ever make.
- Some men who speak with authority at work know enough to bow to a higher authority at home.
- A dish towel will certainly wipe the contented look off a married man's face

- Love is the quest, marriage is the conquest, divorce is the inquest.

- An engagement is an urge on the verge of a merge.

- Marriage brings music to a man's life. He learns to play second fiddle.
- Getting married is one mistake every man should make.
- A well-informed man is one whose wife has just told him what she thinks of him.
- Courtship, unlike proper punctuation, is a period before a sentence.
- The argument you just won with your wife isn't over yet.

and lastly............

- Before criticizing your wife's faults, you must remember it may have been these very defects which prevented her from getting a better husband that the one she married!

Concerns About Getting Pregnant

We all know that being married requires a woman to become more responsible not only to her family but to herself also. Taking care of the household and bringing up children are tough jobs. For me, the happiness of being married to the right man is a blessing. And we are ready to start a family.

Most of the people close to me are telling me that I might be experiencing a delicate pregnancy. They thought I would because of my small body frame. At my age now, I should start building up a strong resistance by doing proper exercise and eating a healthy, balanced diet to support my body on bearing a child. I need to gather plenty of information about conceiving and everything about being a first time mother because I do not know any of these. The experience from taking care of a niece or nephew is different than having my own child. I am concerned about my health during pregnancy period.

My girl friends back home advised me to read pregnancy guides on the Internet. These guides discuss detailed information from the time of fertility, during pregnancy, and to the moment a woman is due. Also, they share helpful tips on getting rid of the morning sickness. Well this is what I need. The more I am aware, the lesser my worries will be. This is a woman's personal responsibility.

Out Of State Vacation

Early today we will head to our vacation destination out of State, in Oklahoma. Yes. We are excited now. I hope the weather will be fine and warm so that there is a chance for me to go swimming. The hotel we are staying has built a new resort so it would be fun.

Actually our wedding anniversary is on April 12. Since it is Easter Sunday, we agreed to move the vacation date ahead. First year of marriage...time flies like an arrow huh?

Mhar's Wedding

First wedding anniversary in April. We survived the first year of marriage. Yay! Besides sweet affection, a healthy marriage includes some petty arguments and misunderstandings but my honey and I are doing well so far. We are still in the adjustment period and doing fine in everything.

Beautiful In His Eyes

Love can be expressed in many ways. Valentine's Day has been full of surprises for me. My honey prepared a simple dinner at home. Then he gave me these pretty, lovely pink roses with matching chocolate hearts and big HUGS and KISSES. Every time he gives me flowers with or without occasion, he always says "for my beautiful wife". 'Very sweet, yah? I believe his sincerity because he is the wonderful guy I have ever met and I am proud to be his wife.

A Date With The Man I Love On Valentine's Day

Here is my honey and I on Valentine's Day. Instead of going out to dinner, we had our supper at home because we it was very crowded in the restaurants. He baked chicken and made some dirty rice which I like. And to make the dinner more romantic, he prepared a glass of red wine. Then we tried the chocolates from Russell Stover, his surprise present to me.

You know, it is very important to have some romance in a relationship. The mere fact that romantic dates bring spark to a man and a wo man, it also give the feeling of being valued. On occasions like this, a simple preparation to dinner makes a difference. It gives warmth in the hearts of couples like us. Also, it helps in keeping the love alive in our marriage. I love my honey for being the person he is-sensible, respectful, sweet, easy to get along with, and funny.
