A dear friend of mine gave each of us in our friend circle this handmade winter headband.  She made this herself. Yes, she's a very talented when it comes to handmade crafts. Her crochet skills are remarkable.

I like winter but chilly weather makes feel uncomfortable especially when it is windy.  The wind chills get me that I don't want to do errands.  This handmade winter headband is very useful because it covers my ears. I don't like wearing heavy puffy winter coats so this cold weather headband is a must-have for me.

Weekend Snapshots: New Vacuum Cleaner Hoover Windtunnel

Yay! Our new vacuum cleaner has arrived.  I bought a Hoover Windtunnel Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to replace our 10-year-old Bissell one.  It has served us good long years but it was time to upgrade.

I was very excited about this new vacuum cleaner.  Even my darling daughter kept asking me when will it arrive so she can help me vacuum the carpets.  Hahaha!  Sweet girl.  Anyway, I bought this Hoover Windtunnel at Walmart.com.  I was scouting for good deals and great reviews about vacuum cleaners and this one has 4.5 rating at Walmart online and featured as the Best Seller.  From $149 price, it rolled back to $99.  I used my birthday cash to buy it.

Weekend Snapshot: Hubby's Birthday Cards

Happy birthday to my dear husband. He's a half century old like he said. :) He's so funny.  He told me ahead of time that he doesn't want to have a party on his birthday.  So we just had dinner at Big Daddy's Barbeque Restaurant located in Lavon (Texas).  We haven't been there in a while.  I remember the last time we ate there, my darling daughter liked the place.

As for the birthday gifts, I couldn't think of something but a gift card.  And that's what he got as usual.

A Very Lovely Surprise From My Cousin

I was very surprised one day my cousin came over to give me this lovely orchid plant.  From our previous get-together we talked about getting an orchid.  We love how beautiful their flowers are and caring for them is easy.

It was a nice surprise for me.  I put the orchid on the entry way table by the front door.  And it is looking very pretty.  I truly appreciate my cousin for this special gift.

It is Mother's Day and my dear husband bought some presents for me and his mom.  The folks are here to visit and celebrate Mother's Day with us.  Darling daughter is very glad also that her grandparents are here.

Aside from Mother's Day greeting cards, my dear husband bought balloons and this strange-looking flowering plant.  When my mother-in-law looked at the tag, she said it's called Digitalis.  It needs full sun to shade.  Good.  I hope it will survive.  I'll do my best to take care of it.

Birthday Presents From Friends And Loved Ones

My birthday presents ;) I had a great time on my birthday.  My husband let me go to Oklahoma for some entertainment that morning of my birthday.  It was so enjoyable that I stayed there until eight o'clock in the evening.  I received a bouquet of flowers and greeting cards from friends and loved ones.  A few things I didn't expect was the watch (from cousin), the Versace Eau de Toilette and Versace perfumed lotion, and the $$$ cash from my dear husband's parents.

I posted the Versace perfume in my wishlist.  My husband bought it for me and gave it to me that evening when I got home from Oklahoma.  The perfumed lotion was also a surprise because it was in a package on my doorstep two days after my birthday.  I didn't have a clue who'd give it to me until I read note at the back of shipping label saying it's from my close friend.  Awww!  I gave her a call right away!

Chistmas Celebration At Home

We had a great Christmas celebration at home.  My darling daughter had fun unwrapping her presents from family and friends and from Santa.  She enjoyed her gifts most especially the cute elephant tent and the new bicycle for toddlers.  

My living room was a mess yesterday-toys and books everywhere.  I cleaned it up last night but the tent is still up in the living room up to now.  I know she is really fond of it.  My husband and I are happy that our little one is happy on her first Christmas at home.

I did not prepare a big Christmas dinner (Noche Buena).  We just decide to make stir-fry noodles with pork chops.  Simple yet a delicious meal.  We celebrated Christmas at our humble home for the very first time.  The previous ones were celebrated out of town.  And last year, we were on our long holiday vacation and spent the holidays with my family in the Philippines.

New Work Shoes For Hubby

It's my honey's birthday and gladly, I was able to find something special as a birthday gift.  He has been planning to buy a pair of work shoes but couldn't get the chance to go to the store.  Well, this will be surprise to him since he didn't notice any sign that I am preparing for his birthday celebration.  

I thought it is time to replace the old work shoes.  So what I got him is a pair of Fila athletic shoes that he can wear to work.  Though this brand of athletic shoes hardly go on sale, I got a good deal at my less favorite department store the other day.  I thought I won't be able to find the right size but luckily the store has it.

 My husband liked the new shoes.  "Finally, I can get rid of the shoes I am wearing for two years," he said.

Small Kitchen Electrics As Gifts

It was a very pleasant day here in Texas on Saturday.  My mother-in-law and I went to a Bridal Shower Party for her granddaughter held in Allen.  The party was small and simple attended by close friends and family. 

Two days before the party, I went to buy a gift for her.  She is registered at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Shopping at Target is more convenient for me.  As one of the things she have in her wedding registry, I got her a small electrics for the kitchen.  She can use it to open canned goods.  You know what it is?  I just had a new one given to my by a friend on my birthday two years ago.  And I can say  that it's neat, so useful in the kitchen.  It makes my life and cooking easier.

Lucky Getting The Car

I remember three years ago when we were shopping for a car.  We went to several car dealers in the Metro.  My honey and I visited the nearby cities to check what's in store.  My FIL helped with the car shopping too. It is very helpful to have someone knowledgeable in looking or shopping for used cars - checking the mileage, history, and of course the pricing.  Because every car we were interested at were nice, one of the factors that can help us figure out which one to buy is to read reviews.

Checking with the Trusted Dealers also gave us the idea what car to get.  We looked online for car dealers and reading reviews on each car that we found interesting.  Our situation was the same as with my friend's who is working in the UK now.  She needed to buy car and had a hard time shopping because of her work schedule. She got lucky at http://www.trusteddealers.co.uk/ because she was able to buy a beautiful sedan.

Honestly, we couldn't afford to buy a brand new car so a nice pre-owned vehicle was purchased.  Actually my FIL found it for us.  The car had positive feedbacks.  The mileage was very low because it was only driven for seven weeks.  The price was reasonable and our bank gave us a very low interest rate.  We were so lucky getting the car.  Now I enjoy driving it wherever I go.  I liked the features and the interior space.  And oh, that was my honey's gift to me on our 1st wedding anniversary.  Sweet, huh? 

Traditional And Modern Gifts For 4th Wedding Anniversary

I am loving the Spring weather so far.  Although the winds are kinda chilly, the sunshine and the lovely blooms bring happy feelings to me.  The green grass smells nice and the birds sing happily in the trees as they feel the breeze.  Most of all excitement comes to me as soon as the Spring comes because in April my honey and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary.  I was a Spring Bride you know.

Three weeks from now and it is our 4th wedding anniversary.  I am trying to think of something to give as a gift for my honey.  They said that the traditional gifts for the 4th wedding anniversary are fruits or flowers.  The modern gift ideas are appliances.  Well, I think I'll go with the modern.  I know what to buy.  The problem is, when I get excited like this, I might give a hint.
