Weekend Snapshot: In The Snow, Valentine's Date

February 11, 2010 - It is cold and it's snowing! The forecast was right. When I woke up, I looked outside my window and saw the beautiful snow on cars, trees, and on the ground. The snow is falling like cotton balls from the sky. It's beautiful! I am thankful that Mother Nature still wants me to enjoy some of her snow before the winter ends.

Making a snow ball with bare hands. Brr!

Driving to work that morning.

The power outage the next day :(

February 14, 2010 - It is Valentine's Day. Yes, my honey liked the idea of us going to Downtown Fort Worth for a date. We ate at Pappasitto's Mexican Restaurant.

Red is the color of the day.

My Margarita Sangria

The feast. Lobster tail platter.

Of course, the Valentine's treat.

Weekend Snapshot: Spicy Dinner

Let's get hungry. It is the weekend's cooking. My honey made Shrimp Jambalaya for the weekend. Oh it is good. Despite of the spicy flavor, it is good! As always, I have rice on my plate. I am not a fan of spicy foods but there are some that I like.

How about you?

Weekend Snapshot: Assorted Flowers

"A pleasant surprise is in store for you soon." This is what my fortune cookie says after we ate dinner at a Chinese buffet restaurant. My honey was like, "do not tell her cookie." Because...

...this is the pleasant surprise that is waiting for me at home. My fortune cookie said it right :)

Changing Desktop Themes

When I first work on the computer in my previous job years ago, I was so into making my computer look neat and pretty. Before I do the first task of the day I clean up my workstation and sanitize. Then I will spend the rest of my break time working on changing desktop themes, display, or wallpaper. Since I was so fascinated with my first experience with Internet surfing, I find free wallpaper of different photography online such as celebrities, sports, nature photos, and others.

Emelyn, Norie, and Marly

...at the apartment yesterday. My cousin Emelyn and her fiance arrived nearly 12 o'clock noon and I was in panic because the bitter melon and eggs were not cooked yet. The kitchen looked like it was hit by a storm. I thought they will be in town at one o'clock.

I called Norie telling her my cousin has arrived. She and her husband came over and met Emelyn. My cousin brought me some pasalubong (gifts) from the Philippines-two jeans, Efficasent oil (which I requested), dried mangoes, dried fish (danggit), and Otap from Cebu. After a great lunch, we talked about fun stuff. We enjoyed taking pictures too. Here is us-Emelyn (in pink), Norie (in gray), and me.

Sorting OutThe Gifts

Finally I had the time today sorting out gifts we got from the family party and the gifts we received from friends. I did not care about doing it after Christmas because I enjoyed relaxing at home. What a shame eh? The fun part here is taking a picture of the stuff we got at Mom and Dad's. They had the Christmas stockings for me and my honey. So here are the gifts inside our stockings.

MharMS: Victoria's Secret panties, candy cane, Godiva milk chocolate, umbrella, wit calendar, super beam cell phone flashlight, and an eye mask

Honey: Calvin Klein boxer shorts, candy cane, lavender bath soap, tire gauge, super beam cell phone flashlight, and laser finger beams

What's Your View On Blindness The Movie?

I was impressed by the movie Blindness which opened on October 3. The movie is about the epidemic of what so-called “White Sickness” which has spread out suddenly in a city causing loss of eyesight. Blindness is a very interesting movie and is over all worth the watch. There are scenes that would surely touch your hearts.

A friend told me about a website, iamblind.org, where you can post your remarks and join discussions regarding the movie. My friend is active in posting comments in the site. The website is focused on user-generated contents where you can share views with the different scenes in the movie. Right now, everybody is busy participating in the forum’s concept “The Last Thing I want To See is…”, sending pictures and drawings of the last thing they want to see if the situations of the movie takes place. If you will be in the situation where you will lose your sight in the blink of an eye, what will be your reaction?

If I am blind, I will not be able to see these beautiful things. So we should do our best to take good care of something precious to us, our sight.
