Dell Netbook Battery Replacement

Combination Fajitas - Shrimp and Beef
After getting our family portraits done this morning, we went to El Rodeo for a big yummy lunch.  My dear husband and I always agree on getting Fajitas.  They have meat combinations which you can choose either Chicken and Beef or Shrimp and Beef.  Darling daughter ordered Taco Salad.  We were feeling terrible after eating because we're so full. :)

New battery for my Dell netbook.
While relaxing and getting the food digested, I start replacing the worn out battery on my Dell netbook.  It's six years old.  No wonder it won't charge anymore.  I found a Dell netbook battery replacement on Amazon for around $11.00.  I hope this one will last six years also.

Help! My Screen Is Sideways!

"Help!  My Screen Is Sideways!"  These were the words I was muttering in the middle of the night in our living room.

I was just only a photo away to finishing my last article when this very annoying thing happened last night.  You see, I was in the process of editing a photo.  When I tried rotating it, unexpectedly my dell computer screen also rotated sideways!  The touchpad was also functioning sideways.  I mean, how could that happened?  I had no idea what keys I pressed that lead to this sudden catastrophe.  I restarted my computer but when it opened, the screen was still sideways.

Nervous, pissed, confused...I tried my best to find a solution online.   Thankfully, I found one immediately.  And according the thread in the forum, here's what you should do when your screen gets sideways:

My dell monitor screen has turned sideways. How can I get it back to normal?

Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + UP Arrow Key, or try Ctrl + Alt + and a different Arrow Key.

If that does not work: Right-click on empty Desktop > Graphics Options > Rotation.

Whew!   If I wasn't able to find technical help online and didn't fix , I could have taken the computer to Walmart.

I was very frustrated that I didn't even took a picture of the screen.  Darn!

Free Online Games Download

It is great to have Internet at home. Besides getting connected with family and friends, the opportunity of learning new things is endless. And when it comes to entertainment, I can say that there is no boring moment on the Internet.

Playing games online is one of my hobby. But I only play educational online games. Online games are free to download. In fact, I have Text Twist in my computer for years now. It helps increase my vocabulary skills. Also, the game enhances my typewriting skills since I have to type real fast to beat the timer. And it is nice to beat your own score with a high one.

I have been thinking about this for a year now. I hope things will go in favor with me so my plans will be achieved. Anyway, Mhar's Display will turn two years old in July. It's been a long time I stayed with my hosting website. Do you think it is time for me to get web hosting service? Would Nexx will be a good choice? I need all advice I can get.

Always Be Aware Of Store Return Policies

I do would like thank Walmart.com for considering the return of the merchandise I purchased online many weeks ago. See, I bought a computer accessory which supposed to for my laptop. But the wish of having a laptop is not going to happen anymore, I sent Walmart.com a communication that sincerely explains the reason why am I returning the item. And seriously, they accepted it.

But I have to sign an agreement. I am responsible to send back the item within 30 days or else, they will recharge me for its cost. As soon as I signed the agreement, Walmart.com processed the return online and they credited me a full refund.

I appreciate you for doing this. Thank you, thank you!

Trivia: Entertainment, History, Nature, Computers

Did You Know...

Shirley Temple, the famous child-actress of the 1930's, had a very early start in acting. Born in 1928, she did her first film, "The Red-Haired Alibi", when she was three.

In 1828, circus performers riding horses wore the usual attire - until one day bareback rider Nelson Hower's outfit went missing. He wore his long knit underwear instead, and presto, circus tights as a permanent fashion statement was born.

US President William Howard Taft (1909-1913) is said to be the heaviest (300lbs+) president who found himself stuck in the White House bathtub. He is the only man in US history to have served as both President and Chief Justice.

Lions usually nap for up to 20 hours of every day. they usually become active after dusk, socializing in the pack, grooming and spending the night hours hunting for food.

It has a bug in it: That is what we say when our computer has a problem. The saying orginated in 1945, when a computer in Harvard University broke down and it was discovered that the source of the problem was moth that had gotten into one of the circuits.

My online friends keep on telling me to get this blog a domain. My blog is a couple of months old and the contents are purely and originally from my own knowledge. It is getting a large traffic too. So

I think of putting my blog into web hosting. There are a couple of hosting sites that my friends recommend to me. But how would I know which is the best and trusted web host? The answer is at WebhostingChoice.com. It has a directory of the top hosting sites available for Website owners. In this free directory are the popular web hosting sites my friends are referring. Now I am confused because I find these web hosts' plan very affordable.

It Was Ridiculous!

There was an unexpected black out at 12 midnight last night. Gosh! I was in the peak of working on something online when the power went off. All the opened Websites were closed because the computer went off too. The UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) did not work. It was ridiculous!

I looked outside to see if everywhere else was dark but the road lights were on. 'Was wondering if our apartment complex was the only place without electricity. Worried with the unsigned-out accounts, I stayed awake until the power went back about one o'clock in the morning. But still the UPS did not cooperate with me. I was very disappointed. What I did is that I unplugged the Internet connection cable. Then the first thing I did when I woke up in the morning was opening the browser and signed out from the Websites I worked with.

Changing Desktop Themes

When I first work on the computer in my previous job years ago, I was so into making my computer look neat and pretty. Before I do the first task of the day I clean up my workstation and sanitize. Then I will spend the rest of my break time working on changing desktop themes, display, or wallpaper. Since I was so fascinated with my first experience with Internet surfing, I find free wallpaper of different photography online such as celebrities, sports, nature photos, and others.

Mouse Potato: The online, wired generation's answer to the couch potato.

A programmer is someone who solves a problem you did not know you had in a way you do not understand.

People who speak more than they listen should consider how peculiar they would look if they had two mouths and one ear.

A little girl was explaining to her friend what it means to be adopted. "It means," she said, "that I grew in Mommy's heart, not in her tummy."

Keyboard USB Ports

The keyboard we are using now has two USB ports. It is pretty because we will not be using the ports behind the computer's CPU. So whenever I want to upload pictures, I just connect the cable to the ports. We got this keyboard from a garage sale worth $3.00. Not bad. It has built-in navigation shortcut buttons that help computer manipulation a little bit easier. ^ _ ^ Hhhmm...it's a bit heavier than a simple keyboard but the keypad is soft.
