Privilege Of Free Information

What is going on in the cyberspace right now?  Trending the SOPA/PIPA bill that the US Congress is wanting to pass.  It is becoming a very serious issue on the Internet community.  The SOPA or Stop Online Piracy Act (Congress 2011) is a counterpart of the PIPA or Protect Intellectual Property Act (Senate 2008).

So let's get to what I wanted to express here.  I am opposed to this.  Why?  Because all in all, it will cripple the Internet.  Does it mean they will block connection from the outside world?  Could be. There is gonna be a huge impact on websites, web browsing, e-commerce, and even online freedom of speech.

Internet user like me always surf and search using the privilege of free information.  I am very thankful that the Internet is another way of communicating with family and friends.

@blair,
not only that, connecting to the outside world will very limited. or worse, very difficult and will need something in return just to access general information.

@John, that's right. It's all about money!

@Noel, the Internet (like what Mark Z. of Facebook stated) is the strongest tool to connect with the outside world. Internet users like us have the rights to express our opinion and share our knowing to everyone.

@Nancy and Kay,
These people should think of something beneficial for the majority and not only for the few.

@Shirgie and Chrisair,
They will control the Internet. Hand of steel style.

Everyone will be affected by this law. Including bloggers like us. It will be a big blow to the web community. Let's just cross our fingers.

When this SOPA/PIPA bill will be passed, we've to sacrifice. We've to suffer the consequences. But there's still internet. However, it's too costly and those intruders, hackers, abusive users to free access to info will be dealt accordingly. Of course, we sympathize those who are good and genuine net users for they'll suffer the consequences. Since many will be affected, hope they're going to reconsider it!

Thanks for all the opinions everyone. Let us remember that this issue is still unfinished. We have to stand on our grounds against this bill.
