Help! My Screen Is Sideways!

"Help!  My Screen Is Sideways!"  These were the words I was muttering in the middle of the night in our living room.

I was just only a photo away to finishing my last article when this very annoying thing happened last night.  You see, I was in the process of editing a photo.  When I tried rotating it, unexpectedly my dell computer screen also rotated sideways!  The touchpad was also functioning sideways.  I mean, how could that happened?  I had no idea what keys I pressed that lead to this sudden catastrophe.  I restarted my computer but when it opened, the screen was still sideways.

Nervous, pissed, confused...I tried my best to find a solution online.   Thankfully, I found one immediately.  And according the thread in the forum, here's what you should do when your screen gets sideways:

My dell monitor screen has turned sideways. How can I get it back to normal?

Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + UP Arrow Key, or try Ctrl + Alt + and a different Arrow Key.
If that does not work: Right-click on empty Desktop > Graphics Options > Rotation.

Whew!   If I wasn't able to find technical help online and didn't fix , I could have taken the computer to Walmart.

I was very frustrated that I didn't even took a picture of the screen.  Darn!

Basics to Small Business SEO

Sometimes it is easy to make the mistake of treating a small business like a large corporation when doing SEO. Small business SEO needs to be done differently than large business SEO. The primary difference is a prioritization of the tasks to be done and a smaller approach to grow over time. Small businesses do not have the same monthly budget that a large corporation does to spend on the SEO.

Keywords for Small Business Online Marketing Efforts

The best way to work on SEO for a small business is to focus the efforts. This starts by choosing a smaller set of keywords to target. Choosing too many keywords with a small budget will water down the efforts and cause results to be much slower in coming. It is also good to mix the initial set of keywords with only a couple of highly competitive terms. Having keywords that are deeper into the niche may bring smaller results to begin, but will help build a foundation and bring ranking results quicker that are more tangible

for the client.

Link Building Efforts for Small Business

Link building has widely been known to help organic rankings. However, things are changing quickly and it is easy to do more harm than good for a small business if not careful. Therefore, focus early linkbuilding efforts on very credible places, such as DMOZ and the Yahoo directory. It is also good to consult with a small business on the importance of a blog and utilizing social media to help push out the content they create. This will get a potential flow of backlinks coming in that the search engines like and that will never be punished. Lastly, optimize the images on the site for image search. With Pinterest, it is amazing how many back links can come from people finding the images through image search. Small business SEO is about doing less, doing the most important first, and doing long-term items. Do not take risks with shady SEO tactics to get quick results that may damage the business down the road with an inability to get good rankings. Build for the future with solid, best practice SEO strategy.

Time To End Paying Too Much On TV Subscription

So my husband and I are still talking about how we can get more from our television subscription.  As you know, we are not happy with our tv viewing right now.  We are paying too much monthly subscription but all we get on tv are reruns and junk shows.  Well, I know some viewers like reality shows.  Though some of these shows are fun and entertaining, others are just unacceptable.

My husband and I are in the middle of looking for new and affordable service provider.  I hope we can get helpful information about cable television from www.cabletvadvisor.com.  It's been two years since moved back here to the house in Texas and we are paying unreasonable monthly rates on our current home entertainment service provider.  Then we can't watch a particular kids' program because we do not have HD and we need to get a new HD device.  What's annoying is that, we have to rent this device.  But it says in the subscription package that the show is included.

Hubby is still weighing things right now.  As for me, I would like to switch now.  I hope we will figure it out very soon because I think it is time to end paying too much on tv subscription.

Business Solutions

I am always delightful with my husband's achievements.  He works very hard for us and I am proud of him because he got promoted.  His diligence to learn ECommerce Partners ecommerce solutions has paid great reward.

A job promotion is aspired by employees these days.  But being employed is pretty much a big thing to be thankful for.  Of course, as part of the promotion, hubby gets a raise in salary too.  That's wonderful!  We will have something to add to our savings. That's the important part here.  Saving money for the future.  His job is brain draining but a rewarding task when projects are successfully completed with happy and satisfied clients.  E-commerce and business solutions need hard working people like my husband.  He keeps himself updated with technology news so he is always ready with resources.

Stylish And Handy

One of the things in my wish list is a new iPad2 and honey saved for it.  Now I am enjoying the gadget and taking it wherever I go.  With a wireless keyboard and aluminum case, my internet surfing gets more easier.  And because it is wireless and lightweight, the keyboard is like an attachment to the iPad2.  It is stylish, which I like. :)  If you would like to buy it, you can go to http://www.uplaytablet.com/uplay-tm-wireless-keyboard-and-aluminum-case-for-ipad-2-2nd-generation-49-99/.

Privilege Of Free Information

What is going on in the cyberspace right now?  Trending the SOPA/PIPA bill that the US Congress is wanting to pass.  It is becoming a very serious issue on the Internet community.  The SOPA or Stop Online Piracy Act (Congress 2011) is a counterpart of the PIPA or Protect Intellectual Property Act (Senate 2008).

So let's get to what I wanted to express here.  I am opposed to this.  Why?  Because all in all, it will cripple the Internet.  Does it mean they will block connection from the outside world?  Could be. There is gonna be a huge impact on websites, web browsing, e-commerce, and even online freedom of speech.

Internet user like me always surf and search using the privilege of free information.  I am very thankful that the Internet is another way of communicating with family and friends.

Quick Tips For Buying A Used Cell Phone

Saving money is very important.  Yes it is.  If you do not want to buy brand a new cell phone, buying a used one to save money on cell phones is acceptable depending on your budget.  So here are quick tips for buying used cell phones:

• Make sure phone is compatible with your cellular network.  Research online or call service provider to confirm.
• Do not buy lost or stolen!  Ask to see original receipt, or look up serial number (usually under battery, sometimes called IMEI, MEID or ESN).  Then call provider to verify.  NEVER buy if seller will not let you research.
• Test the phone.  Ask seller to fully charge the phone so you can "test drive" features.

Always be careful in making transactions.  I hope these tips help.

Happy Moment

Our family is very grateful, especially my father, to God above for giving us the chance to find his long lost sister.  Lots of thanks to my relative, Facebook as well, and to the Internet in general.  I knew that one day we will find her.

My other aunt sent me the profile page in Facebook.  And it was confirmed that she is my father's older sister.  When she named my father in her message to me, I was convinced.  We started exchanging messages the next day telling her information about her siblings and our family.  Then she called her siblings one by one.  Oh that was a very happy moment for them both.  Imagine, more than 40 years my father did not hear any news or word from her until two days ago.  What a wonderful advance Christmas gift.  Don't you think?

Video Transfer Resource

Since our move back to the house, some of our stuff are still disorganized. We have clutters everywhere...still. I could not even find the blank CDs and DVDs. As far as I can remember, we have plenty of them in the box somewhere.

There are many important events that we have had recorded in a video for my family back home. There are also pictures stored in our video camera. What I need now is DVD duplicators so, if we transfer the videos to DVD, we will have our own copy too. And if we want to have copies of the pictures, it would be easy to do it in CD printers.

For now, I have to look for DVD duplication guide for some ideas and shopping resources.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

I really can't wait till Thanksgiving. I'm sitting here counting the days waiting for the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. I love to sit and watch the new floats every year. They always seem to get better every year. It's really amazing if you look back at the past years and look at how far the technology has come I was looking at pictures from back in about the 60s today of the Macy's parade then and looking at some pictures from the present day. It really amazes me how far technology has come and how much brighter the colors are and how much more detail is put into them.

I like to watch every year also to see which new singers and celebrities are there. Always seems to be somebody new and exciting, and also your old favorites. And let's not forget the marching bands and mummers. I always love to watch them.

It would definitely be more fun to actually go to New York and watch it live. But luckily I have good Satellite TV specials to watch it on with a crystal-clear image, and never seem to miss a beat. It's really great when you pump in the surround sound. Almost feels like you're right there with the bass. So even though I don't get to go and see it in person. I can still really enjoy it right from the comfort of my own home.

Easy Access To The Internet

I just bought an Ethernet router so I can access the Internet in my bedroom or anywhere in the house. I am using my honey's desktop computer and it is in the living room. For fast internet connection, we are happy with our provider. The internet service is reliable and fast. Satellite broadband service providers like ours are truly dependable when it comes to fast Internet connection with affordable monthly rate.

Now that I have a laptop, I want my surfing to be convenient wherever I go. Rural satellite broadband is reliable especially to us who have side jobs online.

Top Rated Blog Host

A couple of things are occupying my mind right now, alright. Though these thoughts are not complicated, still they keep me awake late at night. And when I do, I find myself seating in front of the computer...tapping the keyboard while staring at the screen. There are so many things I want to do but 'do not know where to start. The concern is more about searching for resources to get an extra income.

Well, blogging gives me the opportunity to earn money online. I am so thankful that I came across to this hobby. Since I started, I never had the chance to get a domain and web hosting for my website. Maybe because I am hesitant to buy one thinking it is not affordable. But when an online friend told me about the advantages of having a domain and website hosting, I got interested. To know which is the best hosting, I am currently checking on the Internet the top rated blog host websites. Hopefully I can get the best one.

Easy Hardware Installation

When our computer got fixed two months ago, my honey was trying to bring back some applications that have been lost. He also did the setting updates on those. But there was a little bit of problem encountered, we lost other essential programs. And when he tried installing the peripherals, the drivers were not found.

My honey was so upset at first but after a few days of hard work, he got his hp drivers and did a good job installing the hp printer. After that he managed to install our canon scanner with the canon drivers. That was easy. Now we are enjoying the convenience of technology again.

Tired Of Changing Channels

Whenever we eat lunch or dinner, it is our habit to watch television while enjoying the meal. My honey and I sometimes change channels because we are not satisfied with what we are getting from our current subscription. If I am trying to see what is available, it does not even giving my tv options.

We are deciding to change to direct tv viewing. The high-definition feature is what we are looking forward to right now, and we do not want to watch movies that our current subscription is playing over and over again. That sucks! I just hope DirectTV is a good choice.

Programming Is Challenging

My honey and I were at the bookstore yesterday looking for possible gift ideas for the party. While we were there he bought a programming book which he needs for his work. My honey is a skilled programmer. Working in this field, it is necessary to learn new programming languages because information technology changes from time to time. Programming is a high-paying job. It is more on logic and good reasoning. Once the good skill is gained, a rewarding result is obtained which reminds me of a huge competition going on in the internet.

Wishing For A Casio Digital Camera

I love taking pictures. And I like keeping memories in pictures. My family and friends can attest to that. Honestly, I admire good photographers. I envy their skills and technique in capturing fine snapshots. My fondness to photography has started when I worked in a photo center back home where I was one of the photo sorters. It was so amazing how the prints were so clear and vivid though we’re processing shots from manual cameras before.

Cameras, manual or digital, are photographers' best friend. Today, high-technology cameras are selling extensively in the market. They are highly in-demand and have high measure of innovation. I desire getting a high-quality camera that is durable and reliable. I saw a Casio 10 megapixel camera online. The store sells a wide variety of stuff like digital cameras, camcorders, and photo printers in discounted prices. Because Christmas is only two months away, these products are also absolute gift ideas for the holiday season. Nice huh? There is lots of cool stuff to buy online especially if you are one of the gadget geeks out there. And it is a pretty offer that 42photo.com is open to the option of taking orders by telephone or fax besides online orders. I wish that someone will give me a Casio digital camera this Christmas.
