Party With Purple And Pink

Another baby shower party was held this weekend at a friend's house.  This time, I wasn't one of the hosts.  And again, it was a surprise Baby Shower Party.  We just love throwing parties like baby showers, birthdays, and special occasions such as Halloween and Bridals.

Besides the accessibility, my friend's house has a bigger area for a gathering.  With the decoration prepared by our other girl friends, the house looks really pretty and welcoming.  I admire her because she is good with home decorating and gardening.  Whenever I get the chance, I ask her for some gardening ideas too.  In the Spring next year, hopefully, I will be able to maintain a garden with lots of blooms.

Anyway, here's some of the Baby Shower Party decor and activities.  The party's color theme is pink and purple.  So some of us were wearing pink clothes and others were wearing purple.

Of course, I had my picture taken with these well-arranged balloons by LP.

This is the winning ribbon that went around the waist of the mom-to-be.  Just about a quarter inch longer.  Three winners including me.

I think it says, "We are flowers of one garden."

Putting my quarter in the Baby Bear bank because I said one's real name.  It's for the "Don't Say My Name" game (our version of the "Don't Say Baby" game.
In the "Don't Say My Name" game, I am "rocker".

It was another successfully organized party.  Lots of food.  And we also met a new Filipina friend.

Weekend Snapshot: Surprise Baby Shower For E!

Baby Shower at a friend's house
I highly appreciate my friend R for letting us hold my cousin's Baby Shower Party at her house.  Everyone brought a special dish.  The baby shower decor (party needs we bought from Dollar General) was provided by me and R.  Our other friend K took care of the games.  It was a surprise party because my cousin did not have any idea that it's for her.  She knew that we are gathering for R's special celebration for her son. When my cousin arrived at the party, we all yelled "Surprise!" as soon as she entered the house.

The event was hosted by R, K, and me.  It was a wonderful party with lots of food and baby gifts.

The most awaited part of after a meal is getting a desert, right? These are the yummy desserts at my baby shower held in Plano. But wait, can you tell which one does not belong here? If possible, will you be able to specify what it is? Whoever answers first will receive $10.00 to his/her PayPal account. Yay!

The Party Still Went On

It was a stormy Saturday but still the party went on. I had a baby shower party again at our friend's in Plano.

My honey and I got there before the party started. Because it was raining, I wore my pair of cowgirl boots with a multi-colored maternity dress. I felt comfortable with my outfit. My friends said I look good. Oh, yeah...thanks! Haha!

Our close friends and my mother-in-law came but some of the invited guests were unable to attend the baby shower because of the heavy rains. My former co-employee came late because she worked that day. I appreciate her so much for attending my baby shower. We had fun playing games, eating, and talking (as usual). And my baby received lots of cute things from our friends.

Baby Shower Games

I am very thankful to D, E, and N for hosting my baby shower yesterday. It was great! Though just a couple of invited guests came, still the party was awesome. D organized a few baby shower games for us to enjoy. The most fun one was the Never say "Baby" game.

The food prepared was delicious. It was a combination of American and Filipino dishes. My honey liked the baked chicken wings and the lumpia (spring rolls). Everybody had a great time. And the gifts, ah, I love them! I cannot wait for my baby girl to arrive and use the gifts she received.

Thank you so much for making my baby shower successfully awesome!

Way Too Busy This Week

I have lots of plans this week. I might want to have a pedicure because my toenails look like 'I-don't-know'. I cannot reach my toes just to cut the nails. My belly is getting bigger for I am in the six weeks of pregnancy. My baby moves a lot and I love it.

My cousin's baby shower is on Saturday. I haven't bought a gift yet. I might shop with a friend later this week. My other girl friend invited me to her son's birthday the same day. I need to look for something to bring for his boy too. But before we go to the birthday party, my honey and I will visit the storage to check the space for a couple of moving boxes. Then, maybe, we might take my honey's co-employees (who came from China) to the Hong Kong Market on Sunday.

Besides packing stuff for the move, there are other things to do. I am gonna be way too busy this week. But I will be okay.

Catching Up

My cousin called and we talked, for like, two hours! We haven't talked for a while because she was very busy with their moving. So today's a catch up :) They found an apartment somewhere north of Plano. According to her description, it seems like a nice place.

Oh and, she will be having her baby shower this month. I am so excited! I bet she is too.

Gifts Bought From Babies R' Us

Yay, 'had the baby shower gift done! My honey and I went to Babies R' Us store and bought a couple of things in the registry. At first, we used the the touch-screen computer at the store. We had errors typing the name of the registrant. We looked for a Backspace button but there's none. So we used the Delete button, assuming that it will just erase the characters. What happened was, it erased everything. We had a hard time using the touch-screen so we went to the registry counter and asked for the baby registry list. I thought using the computer will make things easier and saves us time. Anyway, below are the baby products we bought from Babies R' Us store: feeding bottles and nipples, brush, and dishwasher baskets.

Pregnant Women Are Attractive

I am so happy seeing our lady friend (my honey's former boss) pregnant of her first baby. And it's a boy. She and her husband is very happy about the good news.

To me, pregnant women are attractive. Maybe because I see in them the completeness of being a woman. Some women look well when they are pregnant. Especially when they are wearing maternity clothes. Agree? These clothing add to the charisma that pregnant women have. Our friend is so pretty with the baby bump, and wearing cute maternity clothes make her look trendy mommy-to-be.

If you are pregnant or planning to be one, I suggest to buy maternity clothing that is very comfortable and yet easy to reach for the budget. That is what we need in this tight situation now. Look for the most affordable clothes in store or online, especially on those clearance section where they offer 75% off the regular prices. The savings you will get from shopping maternity clothes can be set aside for future use...like throwing a baby shower party. And speaking of which, our friend will have her baby shower held this coming Saturday.

It Is A Swim Party Too

A lady friend sent an invitation for her baby shower party last month. I never thought it is getting closer...this coming Saturday. Until now, I am still choosing what to bring as a gift for the baby. There are a couple of interesting stuff online but I found a few nice ones at the department store too. Well, I should make up my mind. Buying a gift in the last minute is not cool. It is my day off on Wednesday, so I should have time to buy the baby shower gift I picked at the department store near by.

What I am excited about this baby shower party? It is swim party together with family and couples too :) Great!

Toys For The Baby

Now, being confused with buying gifts for the baby shower (to held in the next three and a half weeks) is bothering me. I do not know what to get. I was torn between baby clothes and classic toys.

Considering that the coming baby is a boy, I want to buy some toys for him that he can play with in his crib when he gets a few months older. Shopping baby gifts at the stores may get much of my time so I will just do it online.
