There Is Always Sunshine After The #Snow Storm

Beautiful sunrise.
Snow on the back porch.
Well I think this is considered to be the last freeze of the Winter season before the Spring comes.  It was snowing like crazy overnight last night due to the Winter storm.  I think we got about four inches of snow here in our area. I was very excited to go outside to play for a while in the snow with my little girl.  I know she'd love to build a snow girl again. :)

But my darling daughter woke up around eleven o'clock in the morning so I went took a few pictures of the outdoors with the snow.  Our front and back porches were covered with snow.  I couldn't even see the driveway.  My husband said he had difficulty backing up on the driveway when he was going to work.

DD wakes up slow so I let her have a little breakfast - chocolate milk and peanut butter sandwich.  Then we went outside after awhile.  We made two snowmen - a snowgirl and a snowman.  This time they're a little bigger than the previous one we made last weekend.  We played snowball fight. She had so much fun.

The temperature rose a bit this afternoon and the snow started to melt slowly and became slushy.

"Hi Cows!"

Cows in the ranch.
On our way to visit my cousins this afternoon, my darling daughter and I stopped by to see these gorgeous cows in the field.  They were out there eating and some are relaxing.  It was so amusing that they looked at us back.  My little one was telling them "Hi cows!  We are going to Audrey's house."

This is one of the nice things living in the country.  You can see ranches and fields.  Cows, horses, goats, and sheep.

Weekend Snapshot: All Girls Photo With The Bluebonnets

Me, my cousin, and a friend of ours together with the kids went to town to have some pictorial in the Bluebonnet patch. It was an immediate plan and we didn't know if our friend would be available to join us today.  But we were glad that they made it.

It's clear and beautiful day but a little breezy.  We had fun taking pictures.  The girls love being outdoors and they're running and exploring.

Good Thing It Didn't Rain Sunday And Monday

Good thing it didn't rain Sunday and Monday or else we could've got stuck with thick ice, freezing temperature, and no Internet connection.  It was VERY cold three days ago and the lowest temperature was 15F and the highest was 25F and stayed that way the whole day Monday.  We just stayed home and lit the fireplace again.  I wasn't feeling well, though, because I had abdominal cramps (I hate!).  Thanks to my dear husband for cooking supper and taking care of DD and me (I love him!).  We were bundled up to stay warm.  Winter clothes are very handy.

Though it's quite raining today, it is not very cold to the point that it'll freeze.  Good thing because if it did rain last Sunday and Monday, I guess we're still waiting for the melting and the internet connection is frozen too.

Bonding With Cousin

It's Friday. My cousin and I usually get-together for bonding time on this day of the week. If we do not go to the mall for a shopping spree and dining out, we just spend the day either at her house or mine. Today we pretty much hang out at her place. While our little ones are busy playing in the kid's bedroom, my cousin and I have fun talking just about anything. It's been a year since her family moved in to their new home.  I am glad that I have a relative living close to me here in Texas.

Weekend Snapshot: The Cowboy Stadium

On our way home, we passed by the newly built Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It is huge and looks very nice. It opened May 27, 2009 and has a capacity of 80,000 and is expandable to 111,000 with standing room. One of the big event in the Cowboy Stadium this year is boxing, a bout between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito on November 13, 2010.

Late Wedding Gift

We were invited to a wedding last month. Unfortunately, we weren't able to attend because of a sudden issue about my health. I was so eager to go but I couldn't. That would be the opportunity to see Seguin, Texas and meet my honey's relatives on his father's side for the first time.

The wedding gift that I bought for the newly weds needs to be shipped soon...as in VERY SOON, because it's been here, for like, a month now. I know it is very late but I want the married couple to know that we thought about them on their wedding day.

Catching Up

My cousin called and we talked, for like, two hours! We haven't talked for a while because she was very busy with their moving. So today's a catch up :) They found an apartment somewhere north of Plano. According to her description, it seems like a nice place.

Oh and, she will be having her baby shower this month. I am so excited! I bet she is too.

The Trip To Galveston

Though summer is the hot season, it is still my favorite season of the year (next to spring). Swimming, traveling, and eating are some of my favorite things to do in the summer (chuckles). I see to it that we travel at least once this season.

Recently, we went to Galveston, my mother-in-law's hometown. It was my first time in the island. Bad timing because we did not know there's a storm coming. Despite of the bad weather, my honey and I enjoyed walking along the beach. We even fed the seagulls. It was fun! We ate in the seafood restaurant and shopped at The Strand Downtown Galveston.

We stayed in a beach house my parents-in-law rented for a week. The beach house is located west of Jamaica Beach.

The bad weather did not allow us to swim because of the waves. But others enjoyed playing with the waves and the sand. Two weeks after we got back from Galveston, we had a swimming date by the pool at the apartment.

New Neighbor

I was preparing to work one morning when I heard voices and footsteps on the stairs. Sounded like more than two people were talking. We just have a new neighbor. They arrived a couple of days ago.

The new neighbor is a newly wed couple. I just did not know who's father that was who helped them with the hauling of their furniture. Anyway, they came from another State. They moved in Texas because of the husband found a job here. Seems to me that they had a serious moving because they hired a house removals company to help them.

It is really nice to hire a professional help like that. Moving is not easy especially if you have a ton of furniture and appliances to haul.  The house removal can provide adequate service for people who move to a very far place.  In addition, the unwanted and unusable equipment or appliances in your house will be well-taken care of.

Few Minutes Delay In Exiting The Airport

We did our grocery shopping at noon today because we do not have anything in the fridge besides a box of half and half and a couple of drinks. We cleaned the fridge before we left for a vacation in the Philippines.

We had a very smooth and safe travel. Korean Air did a sweet touch down yesterday morning on our arrival at DFW airport. Though some checking at the immigration caused a few minutes delay in exiting the airport, we were very thankful the officers did not open our three baggage. They just scanned them and asked a few questions about what's in there.

'Still feeling the blues but we are happy to be back in Texas...my second home. As of the moment, my honey and I are working on reducing the jet lag effect.

Hosiery Is Tax Free Too

'Been a busy week for me at work because of the tax free weekend. Tax free weekend is one of the busy event in the USA. It is held before the school year starts. Here in Texas, the tax free weekend is August 21-23, 2009. That means the public does not pay tax for clothing, shoes, school supplies, backpacks, and other items associated to back to school.

I thought of buying something for myself. But I never get the chance until tonight. I remember there was a merchandise placed on hold for me in the hosiery section. Before we closed, my associate said it is okay for me to leave the counter and buy the pantyhose. So I hurried upstairs, I bought a pantyhose for $1.48. No tax :)

We work an extra hour during this event. My body is aching for a three days off now :)

Out-Of-Town Trips Are Always Great

A visit to my my parents-in-law has always been great ever since I came and meet them. My husband has a wonderful and beautiful family. They treat me nice and I love them.

We went to Tyler again this weekend. We used the new car and I drove all the way over there in the evening after I get off from work. It was a smooth and comfortable drive. My honey called his dad to tell him we will be arriving at about 1:00 A.M. When we arrived, dad and prissy (their dog) were waiting for us at the door.

As usual, mom prepared a delicious breakfast while dad made the good coffee. Then mom and I went to the mall because I had to buy a present for S, my honey's sister. She had her birthday last month but we did not come for the celebration because I had to work the weekend of her special day. Mom told me she likes fragrances, so I bought her a new scent from Elizabeth Arden called "Pretty". Mom said S and family is coming over for supper. I gave her the gift and she liked it!

We enjoyed the spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad that mom prepared. We watched the fishing video after supper because S have not seen it yet. She likes fishing so much. Sure time passes by when you are having fun. It was almost the sleeping time for kids so S and family went home. Mom, dad, my honey and I hung out in the living room for a while. Then when we got really sleepy, lights turned off and we went to bed.

Weekend Snapshot: Roses And Trees

Here is a picture from a weekend trip to the Rose Garden in Tyler, Texas. The place was so beautiful and the weather was so perfect. 'Had a wonderful time with my honey and his parents. Of course in times like this, the day ain't complete without picture taking, video recording, and fine dining.

Weekend Snapshot: My Perfect Shot Of The Bee

I am very proud of this photography. This is my best shot so far. The honey bee was busy working on sipping the nectar of this flower when I took its picture. We were at the zoo entrance (Fort Worth Zoo) area where the garden is located. I did take the picture quickly because I was afraid the bee will fly too far. Is not it cute? Ahh, I love this!

Wants To Buy Me A Fishing Pole

We are planning to go out-of-town again one weekend next month. This time our destination is Farmersville, Texas where my cousin E and her husband T lives. She called the morning after yesterday inviting us to go fishing because they have a pond close to their house. E said that they have catfish in the pond. I told my honey about the fishing thing and he is so excited. He said he wants to buy me a fishing pole :) 'Kind of neat huh? Or maybe we will take a video of us fishing in the pond.

She Is A Legal Resident Now

My cousin E already received her Employment Authorization Card (EAD), the Travel Document from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Together with that, DHS now sent her a letter welcoming E to the USA. Meaning, she will be getting her Permanent Residency Card (Greencard) three weeks from now. Awesome! Like me, she is now a legal resident of the USA.

Congratulations E. The next step is either job hunting or taking driving lessons. Whichever you want to do first, just do not forget I am here if you want someone to talk to.
