SAVING ON FLIGHTS

Guest written by our friend Mason Abbott

I booked our flights to a wedding in April using our clear internet connection. I used a website called Kayak.com. The website searches through all of the other flight websites to try and find you the best rates and times. I ended up finding the best rate on Travelocity.com. Then, I used my Ebates.com account to log onto Travelocity.com to purchase our tickets. Ebates is really a cool website. You use it as a spring board to do your internet shopping and you can get money back at the end of the quarter. We booked our flights and they were pretty expensive. Both ended up being a thousand dollars. We did get two percent back. That meant that we got twenty dollars back. It was sent to our PayPal account at the end of the quarter. Any money back is some money back. I love to save money and feel so much better spending money when I feel like I am getting a discount. I love Ebates.com! I just wish Ebay would sign up with them too.

Saving For Vacation

Many are asking (including my family) when our vacation to the Philippines will be. Some wants to see us, others just want to know. Our plan is within the last quarter of next year. Although it is quite a long time to wait, I am pretty excited about it. In fact, I am starting to check on rates and flights schedule.

Our vacation a year and a half ago was wonderful! We booked for cheap flights four months ahead of schedule. And surely we got the cheapest rates. I am hoping we will be lucky and get great deal on international airfares next year too. That way our we will be able to use our savings on buying pasalubong and treating my family to very nice dinners.

Monday And The Unavailable Menu

Well, Monday...first doctor's appointment at the Collin County Health Care Center. It is 45 minutes drive from the house depending on traffic in Highway 380. The gadget I got from my girl friend is very handy and dependable. She was so considerate to offer that to me.

I arrived 30 minutes early of my appointment time so I looked for a place where I can get something for lunch. I saw a small grocery store just beside the health center. I walked in there and looked for food (because the sign outside said "Groceria, Panaderia, Carinderia, Fruteria). As I enter the store, I noticed Mexican employees. Browsing inside, I saw the eatery and customers bought food to go. I scanned the menu hanging at the ceiling while waiting for my turn to be served. I chose menudo and rice. The server talked to me in Spanish and as what I understood, she was asking me for an order receipt. She told me to order and pay first at the register. So I went to the cashier and placed my order. Then when I came back and gave her the receipt, she said that they don't have menudo today. What?! I told her it was in the menu up there that's why I chose it because I would like to eat menudo for lunch. She said they only make it on Saturdays and Sundays. That's frustrating.

Rather than wasting my time arguing with her, I just picked another dish with the rice. I asked for a bottled water and told her that I will pay for it when I finish my meal. At the register, the cashier did not let me pay for the bottled water. She said it's free because they do not have the menudo. I refused but she insisted. "Okay. Thank you...", I said to end the discussion.

Then I walked to the health center and logged for my appointment just on time.

Get Lucky And Enjoy A Weekend Party At Hampton

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hampton Hotels. All opinions are 100% mine.

What will you do if you are given the chance to win a weekend hotel accommodation? What your plans will be? Will you organize a party? Like a get-together, maybe?

You will never believe this but here's that chance at Hampton Hotel. Hampton Chain of Friends Sweepstakes is for everyone to join. The grand prize winner will receive a free stay for her/himself and 100 friends at a Hampton for a weekend. Besides the accommodation, the lucky winner will also receive $5000.00 to help pay for the taxes. Wow! How fun is that?

If I win, I will invite lots of friends including those who are from my work. What I have in mind is to hold a get-together party since I haven't seen most of them for three months. The hotel will be packed but it will be fun. There will be lots of foods and cocktails. We will play fun party games. There will be a videoke singing contest at the party too. Then disco time will follow. Though I will not allow too much drinking, I bet everyone will have a great time.

The contest is open not only to guests who previously stayed at a Hampton. Like I said, everyone can join.

Our Vacation In Florida Was Wonderful!

This is a guest post by Yolanda Rice

Last summer my husband and I decided to take the children and visit our friend in Florida. She happens to live near Sea World and Disney land, which made for a wonderful holiday experience. The children were eager to see her and her children again as it had been close to a year since we had seen any of them. So we started making our plans to go and stay for a week.

When the time came we made sure that we had packed everything we were going to need. We took the dog to a kennel and made sure she was settled in and comfortable. Then we made sure that we had the house all secure and that we set our ADT wireless home alarm system before we set off on our trip. We had decided to drive instead of fly, so we were packed up and on our way.

The trip took us a few days, which was pretty good considering we were traveling with two little children. Once we arrived in our friends town we contacted her so that she was prepared for us. We had made plans to stay at her house for the time we were going to be there for our vacation. We were all so happy to see each other again. We spent the next week with her showing us all around and taking us to all the attractions and sites. The children loved it and we had a great time too. She told us that the next time we came to visit we must stay with her and her family again.

I Am Ready For Summer 1

As early as now, we are planning our summer vacation this year. In fact, we already have a destination in mind. Good timing for the plan because my cousin E and her husband is already back.

This year, our plan will be an out-of-state travel. Might be in the beaches of South Carolina. My cousin already searched the Myrtle Beach Hotel. To her it looks very accommodating. But Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel might be better, you think? I love the beach. And I would like to have a vacation with my cousin. Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels might be the good choice this time.

Nice Hot Shower And A Good Night Sleep

Happy V! So where is the date gonna be?

My husband and I had an advance Valentines date Friday night. We stayed in a hotel close by because our apartment still had no power until this morning. An overnight stay at Extended Hotels conveniently saved our day.

Anyway, it was a pretty convenient hotel to stay in because it has a small built-in stove top and a kitchen sink. The bathroom is nice too. The hotel provides Wi-Fi access but they are charging it per stay. It was just an overnight hotel accommodation but we had a really nice hot shower and a good night sleep.

Speaking of Valentine's date today, I am thinking of going to Downtown Fort Worth after I get off from work tonight. I hope my honey likes the idea.

Few Minutes Delay In Exiting The Airport

We did our grocery shopping at noon today because we do not have anything in the fridge besides a box of half and half and a couple of drinks. We cleaned the fridge before we left for a vacation in the Philippines.

We had a very smooth and safe travel. Korean Air did a sweet touch down yesterday morning on our arrival at DFW airport. Though some checking at the immigration caused a few minutes delay in exiting the airport, we were very thankful the officers did not open our three baggage. They just scanned them and asked a few questions about what's in there.

'Still feeling the blues but we are happy to be back in Texas...my second home. As of the moment, my honey and I are working on reducing the jet lag effect.

Two Lovely Resorts In Leyte

We are back! 'Arrived DFW Airport at 9:50 yesterday morning. Now, I am feeling the blues because I am missing my family already. My husband and I know it will be fine because we really had a great time with them. We spent the whole time in two resorts in Leyte...Baybayon ni Agalon in Albuera and Sabin Resort Hotel in Ormoc City.

Since my honey's first visit to Leyte, Sabin Resort Hotel has been his favorite place to stay in Ormoc. Besides being close to my hometown (Kananga), the resort is also 5-8 minutes away from the city proper of Ormoc. We like going to town riding a tricycle. My honey calls it a trike :)

Baybayon ni Agalon is 10-15 minutes away South of Ormoc City. We heard about its beautiful location (by the shore). The resort has a beautiful landscape, quiet, and green surroundings. What makes this resort remarkable because it has a very appealing pool that children would really enjoy swimming in its cool waters (with slides and all that). Plus, Baybayon ni Agalon has two Ostriches by the entrance.

If you want to check more, visit Baybayon ni Agalon at www.baybayonniagalon.com and Sabin Resort Hotel at www.sabinresort.com. Another thing, double check the accommodation rates before placing a room reservation.

At SeaWorld San Antonio 2

Day 2 - 'Woke up early in the morning for breakfast. The breakfast buffet at the hotel starts at 6:00 until 9:30 A.M. Though I still would like to sleep more, there is no choice but to get off the very comfy bed. After eating breakfast at nine o'clock, my honey and I got ourselves ready for the second day adventure. Same as Day 1, we paid another $15 for a whole day general parking at SeaWorld.
