Pecan Pie at Sabin Resort Hotel

My family and I are currently on vacation here in the Philippines.  We are having lots of fun with dear family and friends.  Like right now, after a delicious dinner, we are having dessert.  Would you believe Sabin Resort Hotel serves pecan pie? I think that's awesome. I couldn't believe my eyes. We love pecan pie.

Fun Activities and Things To Do at Beaver's Bend State Park Broken Bow Oklahoma

We spent a few days in Broken Bow, Oklahoma during the Spring Break.  My darling daughter liked to go back to the Beaver's Bend State Park. It's a very relaxing place with lots of things to do.

K was looking forward to see lots of deer again. And we did. We also went hiking and night walking (we called it - night investigation). Then we rode the train at the train depot inside the park. We weren't able to ride the horses this time because the tickets were sold out due to prior reservations.  There were a lot of campers as well. My husband and I were talking about camping at Beaver's Bend State Park in a couple of years.  Aside from fishing, camping is one of main thing to do at Beaver's Bend park. If you enjoy camping, this is the place to go.

Another fun thing to do is boating on the lake. The Broken Bow Lake is huge that visitors to the park can enjoy boating, jet skiing, and even swimming (only in swimming areas in the summer).  Just being near the water brings you peace and serenity.

We cannot wait to go back and ride the horses next time we visit Beaver's Bend State Park.

Back From A Long Vacation

I'm back!  Yes, I was away for over two months. I was on a long vacation with my darling daughter. We went to the Philippines to visit my side of the family and have had a wonderful summer vacation. By the end of March, school is out and summer vacation starts over there.  So my nieces and nephews were with us in all our getaways.

So, I am back now and will start posting about our adventures and new experiences from the vacation.  Hopefully, I won't forget a thing. :D  See you around.  Have a wonderful day peeps.

Lazy Day After The Trip

When I work so hard for long hours or being on a trip for a day or two, tiredness doesn't get to me much on the same day.  It will kick in the next day that will make me feel so lazy and tired.  And that's what I felt the other day.

We went on a trip to Oklahoma Sunday to visit and to have a family adventure in Beaver's Bend Park.  We went to the lake and had quality time just me, dear husband, and darling daughter.  It was a very pleasant day.  There was a forecast of severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings in some cities of Oklahoma but not in Broken Bow.  I thought we won't be able to stroll around the park the next day which is Monday.

It was only a two day adventure but I was tired and worn out.  My dear husband let me drive to and from.  We got back home Monday evening and we didn't do anything after dinner.  We're all tired and slept early.  Tuesday was a lazy day for me.  I did nothing but eat and watch television.

Just hanging out and feeling the cool breeze.

Sure the water was inviting.  A couple of kids were playing on the beach while the other one was swimming in the cold lake water.

My Mom Needs A New Refrigerator

My mom and me at the apartment.  Taken during our vacation in the Philippines.

This is me and my mom at the apartment that they are renting right now.  It is a two-storey apartment with two bedrooms and one bath.  The size of the place is not that big.  Every section of is is very small.  But I am happy that my parents found a place to move in after that unpleasant incident two years ago.

In the photo, I was frying pork chops for lunch.  If you have noticed, the meat is big.  The cut was like an inch thick!  There's no exhaust fan in the kitchen so the smoke from the cooking was all over the house.  My mom said that it goes away quickly with the help of the breeze from the outside.  I saw that the refrigerator has spots of rust around it.  It looks really nasty and dirty.  My mom needs a new refrigerator.  Any sponsor?

Future Travel And Vacation

One of my biggest dreams is to be able to travel and visit Europe.  There are couple of countries in my list:  UK, Italy, France, Norway, Scotland...to name a few.  This idea came to me not only because I worked in travel before, it is because I want to explore.  Traveling always interests me.

The most traveled season is summer.  It is the best time to visit cooler places and summer destinations for a vacation/getaway.  I like a beach getaway.  A wonderful room accommodation adds to the enjoyment of the vacation.  To me, visiting Europe during the summer season seems quite appealing.  Besides staying in a hotel, you can also stay in a luxury apartment for rent that is furnished appliances. Whenever I travel, I always look into getting a great deal on hotel accommodations.  This matters a lot to me.

I am hoping that I can visit the above mentioned European countries someday.

Saving For Vacation

Many are asking (including my family) when our vacation to the Philippines will be. Some wants to see us, others just want to know. Our plan is within the last quarter of next year. Although it is quite a long time to wait, I am pretty excited about it. In fact, I am starting to check on rates and flights schedule.

Our vacation a year and a half ago was wonderful! We booked for cheap flights four months ahead of schedule. And surely we got the cheapest rates. I am hoping we will be lucky and get great deal on international airfares next year too. That way our we will be able to use our savings on buying pasalubong and treating my family to very nice dinners.

Visiting Turkey

Two years ago I took one of the absolute best trips. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Turkey for two weeks after watching a special about Istanbul on our DirecTV. I would have never even thought to visit this country, but I am so glad that we did. It was one of the best two weeks of my life and I loved everything that we did while we were there. The country had so much to offer. From the beautiful beaches to the amazing cities, each day we were surprised and excited to find something new.
We spent most of our time in and around Istanbul while we were there. We visited some amazing museums, ate wonderful food and visited beautiful mosque. By far my favorite thing about Istanbul was all of the history that the city has. There were so many beautiful old buildings that all had an amazing history and story behind them. The architecture in the city was much more than I had ever expected. Since I didn't know much about Turkey, I was blown away by the beautiful sky line of the city and all of the amazing shops and homes.

The Trip To Galveston

Though summer is the hot season, it is still my favorite season of the year (next to spring). Swimming, traveling, and eating are some of my favorite things to do in the summer (chuckles). I see to it that we travel at least once this season.

Recently, we went to Galveston, my mother-in-law's hometown. It was my first time in the island. Bad timing because we did not know there's a storm coming. Despite of the bad weather, my honey and I enjoyed walking along the beach. We even fed the seagulls. It was fun! We ate in the seafood restaurant and shopped at The Strand Downtown Galveston.

We stayed in a beach house my parents-in-law rented for a week. The beach house is located west of Jamaica Beach.

The bad weather did not allow us to swim because of the waves. But others enjoyed playing with the waves and the sand. Two weeks after we got back from Galveston, we had a swimming date by the pool at the apartment.

Our Vacation In Florida Was Wonderful!

This is a guest post by Yolanda Rice

Last summer my husband and I decided to take the children and visit our friend in Florida. She happens to live near Sea World and Disney land, which made for a wonderful holiday experience. The children were eager to see her and her children again as it had been close to a year since we had seen any of them. So we started making our plans to go and stay for a week.

When the time came we made sure that we had packed everything we were going to need. We took the dog to a kennel and made sure she was settled in and comfortable. Then we made sure that we had the house all secure and that we set our ADT wireless home alarm system before we set off on our trip. We had decided to drive instead of fly, so we were packed up and on our way.

The trip took us a few days, which was pretty good considering we were traveling with two little children. Once we arrived in our friends town we contacted her so that she was prepared for us. We had made plans to stay at her house for the time we were going to be there for our vacation. We were all so happy to see each other again. We spent the next week with her showing us all around and taking us to all the attractions and sites. The children loved it and we had a great time too. She told us that the next time we came to visit we must stay with her and her family again.

Romance Package For Summer

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.

If everything goes as planned, our summer vacation will be out-of-state. Yup. We are thinking about this before our vacation back home. Because the priority was the trip back to my home country in the fall, the travel budget becomes limited.

Spring is here and before we know it, summer comes. I love summer! It is the best time to enjoy the water and, the nature, of course. Most of all, the romantic side of the season matters much to me. Vacation is more fun with a company, right?

If you are thinking of going somewhere for an exciting vacation this year, Branson, Missouri is the recommended place to visit according to my friend who is currently living in the State. I could not wait to visit the place. I love staying in beautiful hotels. Who doesn't? A hotel is one of the romantic places in the world especially if it is a luxurious one :)

But what's interesting about hotels in Branson is that, they offer desirable packages that the family will enjoy. Hilton Branson Convention Center, for example, has a Romance Package that a couple might want to avail. Honeymoon getaway or celebrating the anniversary at this hotel is a wonderful choice. Wait a minute, my wedding anniversary is getting closer. Isn't this a nice idea? Another luxury hotel in Branson is the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. There are many recreational places and attractions in Branson that are close to this hotel. If your partner or members of the family loves to play golf, no need to look for a golf course far away. In addition to this, shops and live entertainment are also available around the area.

So if everything goes as planned, we might travel to Branson, Missouri. And here's what I have in mind:

1. spend a day to explore the hotel
2. visit the museums
3. avail a romance package
4. buy souvenirs at boutiques and shops

Ain't it fun?

I Am Ready For Summer 1

As early as now, we are planning our summer vacation this year. In fact, we already have a destination in mind. Good timing for the plan because my cousin E and her husband is already back.

This year, our plan will be an out-of-state travel. Might be in the beaches of South Carolina. My cousin already searched the Myrtle Beach Hotel. To her it looks very accommodating. But Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel might be better, you think? I love the beach. And I would like to have a vacation with my cousin. Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels might be the good choice this time.

Two Lovely Resorts In Leyte

We are back! 'Arrived DFW Airport at 9:50 yesterday morning. Now, I am feeling the blues because I am missing my family already. My husband and I know it will be fine because we really had a great time with them. We spent the whole time in two resorts in Leyte...Baybayon ni Agalon in Albuera and Sabin Resort Hotel in Ormoc City.

Since my honey's first visit to Leyte, Sabin Resort Hotel has been his favorite place to stay in Ormoc. Besides being close to my hometown (Kananga), the resort is also 5-8 minutes away from the city proper of Ormoc. We like going to town riding a tricycle. My honey calls it a trike :)

Baybayon ni Agalon is 10-15 minutes away South of Ormoc City. We heard about its beautiful location (by the shore). The resort has a beautiful landscape, quiet, and green surroundings. What makes this resort remarkable because it has a very appealing pool that children would really enjoy swimming in its cool waters (with slides and all that). Plus, Baybayon ni Agalon has two Ostriches by the entrance.

If you want to check more, visit Baybayon ni Agalon at www.baybayonniagalon.com and Sabin Resort Hotel at www.sabinresort.com. Another thing, double check the accommodation rates before placing a room reservation.

Feeling The Blues

It is hard to leave but we have to. We are leaving Leyte and will head to Cebu tomorrow. We will fly back to Texas on the 31st. The three weeks vacation in the Philippines is truly a happiness for us. Nothing compares to the good times spent with the family. We will miss everyone...surely. Not even on the plane yet, we are feeling the blues now. I know that everyone had a great time...they are happy to see us too.

As soon as we get back to work in the USA and get our pay checks, we will start saving again for the next trip :) We are looking forward to another vacation...hopefully a month long vacation.

Strolling And Shopping In China Town

Two weeks had passed and the fun is still on going. Since we arrived home, the schedule has been hectic for days. The first week of our vacation was spent visiting relatives and friends in Manila. There were lots of activity in the middle of the unpredictable weather.

We went to Binondo (China Town in the heart of Manila). My honey loved shopping in the area. Despite of power failure on the other side of the street, still, we strolled store to store along Ongpin Street :) We bought a couple of Chinese calendar and a lucky bracelet for me.

Then we rode a jeepney on our way back to the hotel. My honey enjoyed it. Me too. It's what I missed. The busy roads and people...also the vehicle honks :)

Wrong Timing

Wrong timing. Yes it is. My monthly visitor came very early this month. And it is our vacation time. Good thing I had no cramps...very considerate...knowing that I am on a vacation :) Swimming in the pool is my concern. But the schedule for the trip to the resort is on the 16th, so I am safe to soak in the water next week. Yay!
