The Cleanliness of Electronic Cigarettes vs. Traditional Experience

Sometimes in life it is difficult to give up old habits for good.  Some people got used to doing something just because they feel the need of it or just because it's part of their routine in connection to their dependency to a substance or a habit.  I am talking about the bad habits associated with addiction to nicotine.

I never liked cigarette smoking.  I definitely dislike it if somebody, in my family or in my circle of friends, smokes cigarettes.  But I hate to say that my husband, my dad, and a few of my uncles were cigarettes smokers.  They have been doing that since they were teens.  I felt so frustrated every time I see them go outside and lit a cigarette.  My mom and my siblings asked our dad to quit smoking.  He tried his best to, at least, reduce the need to smoke by eating a menthol candy – which was effective, I think.

When I met my husband, he was already a smoker.  I liked everything about him except his smoking habits.  But I accepted him because I love him so much.  Yet in my mind, I want him to stop it because it's BAD for everybody's health.  If you're smoking cigarettes, you have unpleasant smell (bad breath, body odor...etc.)  I talked to him about quitting.  It's for his overall health and of course, my daughter and I want him to live a longer life.  And guess what?  It's over a year now that he got rid of smoking cigarettes.  He switched to e-cigar.  Hey, it's a little better than an actual stick.  Though there is still nicotine intake, but it's in the least amount than an actual pack of cigarette contains.  21st Century Smoke e-cigarettes has affordable kits and supplies.

I know that smoking is a hard habit to break.  But in this way my husband is getting there slowly and I completely understand it.  This is the important thing right now.

Back to the habits associated with cigarettes smoking, hubby has got rid of the following:

  • going out to the garage every morning just to smoke
  • going out the office every hour to light a cigarette
  • leaving in a middle of conversation
  • spending much money on packs of cigarettes
  • unpleasant smoke smell and bad breath

He has complete focus on everything he does now and has more time for us.

I am not saying that e-cigarette is an alternative to quitting smoking.  But, it can be a tool for a transition to completely stop cigarette smoking. This is a serious issue and I am hopeful that my husband, and my dad also will totally get rid smoking.

Remember:  Cigarette smoking is a health hazard.

Muay Thai – The Best Way to Lose Weight

Losing weight is most effective if we make a combination of two things – healthy diet and exercise. Muay Thai is a combat sport that can also be viewed as an exercise that burns a lot of calories in a relatively short time. This intense training trend is found in many Muay Thai Camps. Muay Thai is also a mental and physical workout because concentration is required in order to master some moves and skills. Muay Thai can be practiced by both men and women especially when they are looking for an effective way to lose weight.

Calories

Several studies have confirmed that an one hour Muay Thai training session can burn up to 600 calories (this depends on the weight of the person that is performing the training – the higher the weight the more calories are burnt). Knowing the exact amount of calories that you can burn is important because you can easily calculate the calories that you take through your diet and the amount that you can burn.

Nutrition

If you are practicing a diet with lower amount of calories and actively train Muay Thai your amount of weight loss will significantly increase. According to some statistics the number of successful dieters who don’t exercise is very low and that’s why training is essential. A lot Muay Thai trainers can help with your diet and of course you can consult your doctor, too. Muay Thai training requires lots of energy so you must keep some level of calorie intake. In this way you will stay strong and fit.
As you can see Muay Thai can be very helpful if you are looking for a way to lose weight. If you want to have real, traditional training sessions we suggest you visit Thailand where you can choose from hundreds of different Muay Thai camps. In order to save you some time we will suggest you a camp that is very popular among people who want to lose weight through Muay Thai training and that is Suwit Muay Thai camp located in the stunning Phuket Island . You can read more at BestMuayThai news in March 2014 .  For a cheap price you can get a room in this camp enjoy the beautiful nature and practice Muay Thai training while losing weight.

This is a Guest Post.

Simple Things Are My Priorities Too

Feels like Spring already.  It's a beautiful day and I did not do much in the house today.  My daughter and I went out for a walk this morning.  She liked going outside to play.

After lunch I decided to vacuum the carpet in the bedrooms.  It looks really dirty and dusty.  It's been a while since I have done that.  My plan this year is to beautify my house...at least do some touch ups and rearranging the furniture.  Who wouldn't want to see a beautiful and well-organized home? As much as possible, I'd like to minimize clutters.  All the closets are full.  My husband advised me to start Spring cleaning.  I would do that little by little because my hands are full.  It is very hard being away from family because I do not have any assistance in doing chores at home.

Anyway, my daughter's needs are more important.  She is my priority now.  And simple things like walking around the neighborhood or in the park is a big deal to me.

Heart Symbolizes Love

"The heart is the center of one's physical and spiritual life.  Guard your heart that it does not collect unwholesome desires; for what is in a person's heart is who a person truly is."

Physically, take care of your body so you won't get a heart ailment.  Exercise and eat healthy to stay fit.  So you will live longer and enjoy the company of family and friends.  Emotionally, laugh and love.  Appreciate everything and every little thing you have around you.  So you will feel happy and your heart will be full of love too.  Spiritually, seek and learn the lessons of God.  You will acquire peace and enlightenment in your life, and to be able to share goodwill.

How To Control Hot Flashes?

Honestly, I do not know how a hot flash feels.  They said that menopausal women only this.  If you have hot flashes, beat the heat.  Hot flashes do not have to control your life.  Consider these tips to control hot flashes.
  • Keep a diary of the frequency and severity of hot flashes to identify triggers.
  • Dress in layers of breathable fabrics like cotton, linen and rayon.  Avoid synthetics, silk and wool.
  • Watch what you eat and drink.  Alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods can trigger hot flashes.
  • Carry a portable fan in case a hot flash occurs.  Hmm, kind of obvious :)
  • Exercise regularly - women who exercise have a reduced incidence of hot flashes.
  • Don't smoke.  Smoking exacerbates hot flashes and may prematurely trigger menopause.
  • Carry facial tissues and/or baby wipes to absorb perspiration. Surely.
  • Consider taking a supplement that reduces menopause symptoms.
Well, I think it is hormonal too.

Shopping For Great Deals Has Always Been A Woman's Interest

Since I learned how to use the Internet, there are lots of things I acknowledge and appreciate.  Communicating with family and friends has been way easier.  Researching for additional information and looking for references became more convenient.  Another thing is that, shopping online happens to be so much a time saver now.

I think, I am one of the women who find comfort and happiness in shopping especially if we get the best deals.  I am not an impulsive shopper though.  There are lots of online shops all over the Internet.  There are buy and sell sites too.  I also enjoy bidding for an item.  One trusted online shopping site is nomorerack.com which has been continuously providing very low prices on products.  What makes this online shop unique was the deals offered every single day is so low that you can almost get the items for free.  The shipping cost is very reasonable too.  Besides shopping at nomorerack, there is another interesting method to get the items that you like.  It is called Friendrack.   The shop provides items with an allotted number of friends to invite.  If you are an active member of nomorerack, you are familiar with this.  If not, here's how it works.  You will sign up in nomorerack.com, then look for your referral link.  To be able to claim the item you like that is listed in Friendrack, you have to invite family or friends to sign up too.  The more sign ups you get from your referral link, the higher the chance you will get to claim the bigger prize.  I know it is kind of tedious, but it sure is rewarding. People who are staying at home working or taking care of their families full-time have more time to gather interested individuals.

I am so behind on inviting friends to nomorerack.  It is not late for me to catch up though.  I just need lots of time management.  Shopping has always been my interest.  And saving a lot of money buying the things I only needed is a great feeling.  Online shopping can be a pain if you are not very watchful. What I do is always search and transact on a secure page.

Vision Problems Solved With The Right Prescription Eyeglasses

After moving back to the house last year and all the important matters taken care of after my delivery, my honey and I are getting our periodical health check-ups one at a time. We prioritized the medical and dental check-ups. We already missed your annual eye appointment then.  Now that our schedules are back to normal, it is time for our eyes to be checked because both of us are experiencing vision problems.  Our eyeglasses need replacement too.

I am having headaches (in addition to periodic migraines), blurry vision in the afternoons, teary eyes, and glare sensitivity.  My honey is currently wearing  bifocals.  And he is getting uncomfortable with it. There are many things affected with poor vision.  Reading, writing, and even simple jobs in the house cannot be done very well without proper eyeglasses.  We are due for new prescription eyeglasses.  Our eye appointments should be scheduled soon.  Because of budget concerns, I need cheap eyeglasses for me.  Where else can I find cheaper prescription eyeglasses nowadays?  Zenni Optical.  Same as before, I can choose stylish eyeglasses for as low as $6.95!

My vision has to be corrected and my honey's eyeglasses have to be replaced as soon as possible.  No time should be wasted.

Apartment For Rent

A friend of mine just flew abroad with her husband.  They are starting a new life as a newly wed so, they are renting an apartment for now.  After shopping for cheap and convenient place to live in, they finally found Calgary apartments for rent.

Falconcrest Village located in the Northeast Calgary offers as low as $863 a month with two spacious bedrooms and one bathroom.  Good price for two persons for a start.  My friend likes it there because it is close to the airport and mall.  Oh yeah, she likes shopping too.  I miss her already.

Handbag Fascination

I have this fascination with handbags. Ugh! 'Just can't help it. Whenever I am in a department store, my mind wants me to go to the ladies handbag department. It is not an addiction because I do not buy impulsively. Only if there is a good deal (huge discount) on handbag styles that I like, the chances of letting it go is minimal.

It did not came into my mind that I would find messenger bag cuter than ever. I used to have a handbag messenger bag style when I was in college. It was the trend before. Mine stayed with me five years until I gave it up to my sister.

Oh, I love handbags! To own one is a privilege of being a woman.

Hiding The Post-Pregnancy Bump

A friend came to see us in Tyler on my birthday. It is the first time we see each other but we have already been friends online. She is also a Filipina and lives in East Texas with her son and American husband. Her son is playful and funny.

We had a long chat about my delivery experience. I told her I had C-Section. "I thought so because you still have a belly," she said.

I asked if there is something I can do, for now, to kinda hide the post-pregnancy bump. My friend suggests to use a Seamless shape wear that will work as a girdle. It can be found at www.unbelievabra.com. It's the place to find the Best body shaper for those who have post-pregnancy belly like me. Nice suggestion. Since I can only do moderate exercises, wearing a body shaper can make me look a little sexy.

Today's Humor: Signs You're "All Grown-Up Now"

-- You keep more food than beer in the fridge.

-- Your car insurance goes down and your payments go up.

-- Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.

-- You no longer take naps from noon to 6 PM.

-- You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.

-- 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.

-- You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.

-- You read this entire list, looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you, but, can't find one to save your life.

15 Years of the Gym

Guest post written by my buddy Lavern Small

The gym has been a staple in my life since my first year in college, about fifteen years ago. I was always a little butterball and I had finally had enough. So I turned up the heat and worked off the pounds. Now I am committed to a lifestyle that promotes health and weight loss because I know that I could become that little butterball again very easily.

I go to the gym religiously on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Before heading out I always give the dogs plenty of loving and treats, set my SecurityChoice home alarm system and grad my work out towel.

On Mondays I swim for around an hour. I try to go super early on Mondays to avoid the crowds that come, especially in summer people flock to the pool. Wednesdays I do a Zumba class that is super fun and is a great dance work out. Thursdays and Sundays I focus on running and lifting. I usually run for about an hour each day and then I do some weights. I really try to focus on my upper body because it is the hardest for me to keep toned for some reason.

I really love to eat and so keeping myself on a super healthy diet is also important to stay in shape. I have found ways to make healthy food palatable over the years.

Prefers Satellite Than Cable

It was a quick setup. Two of the important installations were finished during the move on the weekend. My honey contacted the service providers prior to our move so we can have a satellite television and internet connection in the house today.

Since my honey already had direct tv connection in the house before, he added local Filipino channels to the package. He knows I enjoy watching Filipino shows. He prefers direct tv satellite than our previous cable connection at the apartment because direct tv has more movie channels.

Anyway, planning ahead of time really helps accomplish the goals even if you are occupied with other things. Now we enjoy quality time watching television and surfing the Internet as well.

Save Time On Local Search

Most people still rely on a phone book to look for a particular product, business, or a service company. They look for the contact number to get directions. But there is one better than that.

Now, online local search is also a big help and is just a click away. If you are looking for a cozy restaurant to hold a party and having a hard time locating the place, use the local restaurants search. Searching the points of interest at the local yellowpages on the Internet can save time.

Excited About Winning And Having Fun

We went to Oklahoma on our anniversary. We spent one day and one night at the hotel casino and resort in Durant. It was a beautiful day. The new casino and hotel is huge. I was very excited about the pool spa...and, of course, about winning in the casino.

But at nine o'clock in the evening, I was broke. Sheez! I did not even get the chance to play later than that with my couple of twenties. My honey had the same situation too. So we agreed to head to the room and watch a movie until we fell asleep.

The next day, still had the feeling of frustration, my honey tried his luck again while I, was enjoying the view and the water splashes in the resort. Before check out time, my honey came to me and we talked about going to Thackerville, Oklahoma. The goal was to enjoy our stay in Durant but we were just frustrated. So off we went to the casino in Thackerville which is about an hour away from Durant. We knew that we will have a good time there. I won back the twenties I lost and same thing with my honey. We felt better :)

Can You Tell Your Future?

There is a time in silence I get the chance to reminisce the fun moments my two friends (from work) and I did back home. We attended parties, participated in school activities, and joined night swimming with other colleagues. Another thing, we tried going to love fortune teller. I found out that my friends had been having their love tarot reading and they wanted me to come with them to know what mine reads. The fortune teller does love psychic reading too.

I remembered the love fortune teller told me that I will be married to a man from far away, and I will experience far travels in my life. It sounded all positive readings to me. I realized that the love tarot reading came true. I married a wonderful foreign man. And traveling is a part of my lifestyle now. I feel grateful.

How about my friends'? I am just wondering how is it going with them right now.

High Class Quality Cars

We have been shopping for a car for months here in Fort Worth but nothing seems to be reasonable enough to buy. The car we were looking is for me.

My honey browsed the Internet for a couple of interesting cars. The Chevrolet Impala 2009 has 6.6 overall rating on it. Though it is a current model, he is not impressed with it. The Chevy Camaro is too sporty for me. It is more suitable for people who have active and sporty lifestyle. The Cadillac, on the other hand, has the style I like. But the pricing? I do not think I can afford it :) Anyway, my honey likes to check on high class brand cars. He was checking on a Lamborghini. He asked me if I would like to have a car like that. "That would be wonderful", I answered. Having an 8.8 overall rating on it, that is a catch. How much? Take a look and you will know.
