Memorial Day At Home

The Memorial Day celebration with the family was at home.  My husband's parents and brother together with his wife came over to visit.  Our darling daughter was missing her grandparents so much that she wanted us to go visit them.  And because the folks weren't feeling well a couple of weeks ago, we did not go to Tyler and they weren't able to come over.  She was very happy to see them.  We are glad to see and know that they are feeling better, too.

My husband grilled hamburgers with matching buns, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.  We had tea and cokes.  Dessert was courtesy of my brother-in-law and his wife.  Brownies and cheesecake.

Time To End Paying Too Much On TV Subscription

So my husband and I are still talking about how we can get more from our television subscription.  As you know, we are not happy with our tv viewing right now.  We are paying too much monthly subscription but all we get on tv are reruns and junk shows.  Well, I know some viewers like reality shows.  Though some of these shows are fun and entertaining, others are just unacceptable.

My husband and I are in the middle of looking for new and affordable service provider.  I hope we can get helpful information about cable television from www.cabletvadvisor.com.  It's been two years since moved back here to the house in Texas and we are paying unreasonable monthly rates on our current home entertainment service provider.  Then we can't watch a particular kids' program because we do not have HD and we need to get a new HD device.  What's annoying is that, we have to rent this device.  But it says in the subscription package that the show is included.

Hubby is still weighing things right now.  As for me, I would like to switch now.  I hope we will figure it out very soon because I think it is time to end paying too much on tv subscription.

She's One Of My Favorite Actress

I miss her.  Julie Vega was a very talented actress and singer in the Philippines.  A few of her movies include "Mga Mata Ni Angelita", "Roberta",  "Daddy's Little Darlings", "Dear Mama", and "Lovingly Yours, Helen-The Movie".  

Her sweet and charming beauty as well her talent in acting captured the hearts of the Filipino people.  I was (and still is) one of those who admired and adore her.  She's very lovely.  Julie died at the age of 16 due to an illness.  She was loved by everyone.  And will never be forgotten.

And this song, "First Love", is included in her album of the same title.

   

Flowers Picked From The Yard

One of the joys of being a mom is when your child brings you a flower he picked from the yard.  As of the moment, Dandelion is an addition to my favorite flowers.  My DD always bring me a flower whenever we go outside for a walk.  Very sweet.

On the other hand, my hubby and DD brought me a beautiful bouquet of red roses with a cute greeting card on Mother's Day.  Oh how I love them so much!

Shopping For The Garden

We shopped for flowering plants today at Home Depot.  A few of them will be planted in the flower beds in the front yard.  We also bought a couple packs of vegetable seeds for the vegetable garden.  Last year's Gardenia, unfortunately, did not make it.  So I will replace it with a Hibiscus instead.  I also bought a pair of gardening gloves that I can wear and use in planting.
