Behind-The-Wheel Practice Next Week

In my previous post I shared the result of the Learner's Permit test. My Learner's Permit is now on hand. That means I can take driving practice only with a supervision of a Licensed Operator in Front Seat (LOFS). I appreciate all the assistance given to me by the staff at the driving school from the start of class until the day of the examination. I learned about traffic signs, rules and laws. Right now I am excited for the behind-the-wheel practice next week.

Oktoberfest In McKinney Is Fun!

It’s been a fun weekend for us. After sending the Balikbayan box which we have been busy filling in few weeks ago, my husband and I went to the Oktoberfest in McKinney Saturday afternoon. My husband’s friend invited us and he said it would be fun so we went there. We arrived at McKinney Square, where the event was held, at about 3’oclock and the place was full. They say Oktoberfest is a festival of German beers. Also there was Polka dancing, food, exhibits, shops, and 20 types German beer (we just tried two). Everybody enjoyed dancing while the band played Polka and upbeat music. German-Americans, guests, even kids danced Polka. I took some pictures to share. 'Hope you enjoy.

If You Want To Buy A House In Austin

...you might want to deal with certified realtors.

My husband had a lot of job offers and I remember one time he told me he was offered a job in Austin. He said Austin is a nice city not only because it is the capital of Texas but also there are many opportunities there as an information technology job is concerned and we might consider living there. But looking for a house to buy is not easy. Clicksmart.com helps clients look for Realtors in Austin. They have listings of certified expert Austin Realtors who are reliable to deal with. Clicksmart prescreens certified experts like them in order to provide quality service that’s why clients are assured of valuable assistance.

A Tree Frog Stuck On The Wall

We were supposedly meeting Steve's friend but it was canceled for some reason. So we just stayed at home in Wylie and ran errands as usual. As my husband watered the plants at home this weekend, he saw this tree frog stuck on the outside wall of our house. He was wondering where it came from. Then he said maybe from the rain waters last week. Good thing I was done mowing the yard so I got the chance to take a picture of the tree frog.
And look, there's green grasshopper near him. Looks like he's asking why they have the same color.

'Will Be Getting My Learner's Permit Soon

Good news friends. I passed the test for Learner's Permit! I studied hard with the traffic rules and signs (our driving class instructor is good in giving situational examples). They are the contents of the test (20 items each seat). On the rules and laws test, some questions are tricky and situational. I am glad I did it with confidence. I almost had wrong answers for two questions. Instinctively, I browsed my paper and saw that I wrote the wrong number for the corresponding answer. Whew! Anyway, I got a 100/100 score.

A Lot of Charms

Oh my! My friends have given me charms lately. They are all packed in my word processor and waiting for me to work on them. I was so busy that’s why I had so limited time. I have to do this or else, I’m in trouble. Hahaha! It is nice to know that there are friends who always remember you. Thanks to Maybel of No Place Like Home, Sveta of Wonderland, Shawie of A Grateful Heart, Glorie of Fit4All, Del of As the World Turns, Malaya, Gilbert/Cely of New Horizon, Crissy of Housewife @ Work, and the cute Kumagcow for this very charming award.

They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.

Blogging has been a great blessing to me in my life and it has enriched my days so much. I love hopping in my friends' blogs in the blogging world everyday and I have made so many connections that I truly cherish. I have received three awards recently that I want to highlight. I’m a bit late on two of the awards, because I had a hard time deciding whom to pass along the awards to, since I love so many. :-) I received one award from Dori of Yellow House in England called the “Million Dollar Friend Award”. I am so delightful to receive this.

And this one, I got from Faery Rowan. ‘Wish I got a real Visa Card…lol.

Rules:
1. Only 5 people are allowed to receive this award
2. Four (4) of them are followers of your blog.
3. One has to be new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
4. You must link back to who ever gave you the award.

It's true I have never seen you
and we have never met,
Never shaken Hands or
even truly hugged and yet!

I know for sure you care for
me by the kindness that you give.
And our keyboards keep us
together doesn't matter where we live.

So I give you this gift to
put a smile on your face
and to let you know in my
heart you have a special place.

This time I want to tag along: Dezzmassey, Pinay Writer, Zhoewynz, Annaberly, Sweet Pinay, and Shareen.

I never been to driving before and now my excitement and hesitation are bumping against each other. My husband and some of my blogger friends are giving me encouragement with this. I am so happy for all the advice and warm encouragement that I am getting. I will control myself and stay focused. It is the most important thing to do.

Free Three Piece Set Dinnerware

I got these plates from Albertson's when we had our groceries shopping this week. This three piece set (dinner plate, salad plate, soup bowl) from Royal Doulton Blueberry is free since I already had 36 bonus stickers from my grocery shopping at Alberton's last month.

As you know, Royal Doulton is the world's 3rd largest manufacturer and distributor of branded tableware and giftware. Royal Doulton Blueberry Dinnerware is made of high quality porcelain with a classic in glazed pattern. All products are microwave and dishwasher safe.

To get started with the collection, you have to shop at your local neighborhood Albertson's until December 23, 2008. You have to collect the bonus stickers that will be given to you at the register. For every $10 you spend, you'll get one bonus sticker, then two bonus stickers for $20 and so on. When you have collected 36 bonus stickers, exchange them for your free Royal Doulton dinnerware. Bonus stickers can be redeemed until January 6, 2009

By the way, it appears to me that this is our first dinnerware set together (smiles).

Weekend At The House

Every weekend we go out of town, to Wylie. We have a house (for sale) there and we need to take care of it. Mowing the yard is the main routine so my husband will do that. Sometimes I go out to help him. You can see in this picture I am riding the mower. That was my first time to operate a John Deere. It was so funny because I wasn't able to follow the pattern my husband started. So I wind up into circles (smiles). But before we did the mowing, we went to the tire shop first thing in the morning on Saturday to get the truck's tire checked because there was a screw poked in one of the front tires. Good thing it didn't poked deep inside the interior. The workers interchanged the tires so everything's alright now. Then running errands was next in the list of routines.

Share Us A Smile: No Drinking and Smoking

A Grandmother was talking to her young grandson, trying to explain the dangers of smoking. “Now Johnny,” she said, “you have to promise Grandma that, once you’re a grown man, you will never smoke, and never drink.”

“Never, Grandma?” asked little Johnny.

“Never, boy, not even once,” replied the grandmother.

With his eyes wide as saucers, Johnny asked “But won’t I get thirsty?”

Birthday Greetings to My Brother Jhun!

It is my brother's birthday. I am so happy he is now 25 years old. Though we didn't spend much time during his growing up, I can say that he is a good boy. Sometimes he likes to annoy us but it is normal between siblings. Jhun is the proud father of the cute baby boy, Russel, I featured here in my blog. My brother is active in his favorite sports, basketball.

Happy birthday bro! We are wishing you good health always and many more birthdays to come. Now that you have your family, I hope you will limit yourself playing basketball. Take care of yourself because it is for your own good. I know life is difficult. We can work things out.

Share Us A Smile: Don't Want To Make Her Think She's Welcome

Hello everybody! Let us start our week with a smile. I hope you will find this funny.
----

Bert took his Saint Bernard to the vet.

"Doctor," he said sadly, "I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to cut off my dog's tail."

The vet stepped back, "Bert, why should I do such a terrible thing?"

"Because my mother-in-law's arriving tomorrow, and I don't want anything to make her think she's welcome."
