Friends Coming Over To Celebrate With Us

Our two Filipina friends, E and J, came over from Plano on my birthday. We went out to lunch together with my honey. Good thing N was on a day off so she came with us to celebrate. It was a freezing cold weather on Friday but it did not hinder us to go out. Good thing we did not get some ice that day. We did a little shopping too.

It's really fun having friends coming over. And I appreciate that.

Strolling Around In Bad Weather

Today, my friend N came over to my place to give her present. It is a summer dress. Then we went to a jewelry repair shop to pick up her necklace. At lunch time, we drove to my honey's workplace and ate at Chilli's. It's a bad weather today...heavy rains, thunder and lightning. But the weather did not stop us from strolling around. We went store hopping. N bought a purple outfit while I got an off-white dress. She drove carefully and safely. Man, I cannot imagine myself driving in heavy rains that you can barely see the car in front of you. Scary.

He's Driving Me 'Nuts'

My honey bought me a birthday gift a couple of days ago. But until now, I still have not opened it. Why? He said I cannot open it until Friday (my birthday). Torture right? It is driving me nuts! I am excited to see what is in the little box.

Healthy Food Tip For Pregnant Women

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of All opinions are 100% mine.

As I was thinking on my upcoming job review this month, I never thought the store inventory ended so soon. Store employees, including the managers, and volunteers, done a two overnight stock inventory this week. Every department had an assigned auditor for the inventory. But there are exemption to the task. Pregnant women employees and housekeepers too.

It is just right that pregnant women do not have to work odd hours on inventory. They need enough rest and relaxation after work. In addition to that, they need to eat healthy food during their pregnancy. Lots of fruits, vegetables, and meat are essential to baby's development and mother's body resistance. Eating seafood is very important too. Because plenty of nutrients can be found in fish and shellfish. A healthy tuna meal, for example, is one of the best food a pregnant woman should eat. Besides protein, the benefits of iodine are a big help to the body. One of these benefits is boosting babies brains to help them become quick learner as they grow.

There a many recipes for tuna fish. Our family's favorite is tuna salad. The main ingredients are lettuce, cooked potatoes (in cubes), tuna flakes in oil. For seasoning, a sprinkle of ground black pepper, mayonnaise, vinaigrette, and a little bit of salt. Oh that is so good! Anyway, I cannot wait to see my co-employees baby. Everybody at work adores her and waiting for the baby to arrive in this beautiful world.

Going back, I hope my co-employees feels better after the two overnight inventory job. Some of them came like a zombie this morning :)

Travel Essentials And Accessories

I am so excited about my friend N gave me for Christmas last year. It is very unexpected. She gave me a gifts set of a travel bag, travel pillow, cellphone case, mini pouch, and a hand cream. Isn't she sweet? I love her.

My gift to her is a pair of silver earrings that will match her silver necklace. I hope to see her soon so I can give the birthday gift I got for her.

For Elderly's Convenience

It is just natural to think about our family's welfare. I do not know with others but, I have the sense of responsibility in me. I want to help as possibly as I can. But in this point of time, my resources are limited.

I have an elderly living with my family back home. He is my grandpa. And I love him. I do not want him to be sick. That is why we take care of him at home. He is still strong and capable of doing things his way. In fact, he still tends his farm. But time passes by quickly. He is not getting any younger either. We want him to enjoy life too. From personal necessities like walk-in bath tub to simple travels like relaxing at the beach, my grandpa will be pleased. The idea of a walk in tub is not bad. We just have to be very careful and learn more about it especially on tub safety measures.

Shopping Formal Clothes For The Wedding

Surely my grandfather will attend his granddaughter E's wedding on the 30th of this month. I called home last night and asked my mother about the wedding. She said it is a church wedding. The family is invited and my mother is having a tight time looking for clothes to wear for the occasion. Grandpa do not have formal clothes either. So my mother went to the city with him and saw some interesting clothing in a department store. I just hope my grandpa would be comfortable wearing them :)

A Bridesmaid

My sister is one of the bridesmaids in our cousin E's church wedding in the Philippines this year. E and her fiance will be wedded on the 30th of this month. They flew home a week ago. I am jealous. Of what? Of not being one of the bridesmaids? No. Jealous of her flying back home. Our vacation last year was quick (only three weeks). But that was a wonderful one anyway. My honey and I had a great time.

Oh yeah. Back to my sister's first wedding attendance, she will be wearing a red dress because the wedding's motif is red. The dress is strapless, layered with gold band around the waist tied in a bow. Picturing the dress in my mind and my sister wearing it, I bet she'll look very pretty. And it would be a very nice wedding too.

I could not wait for the wedding pictures :)

It Would Be Fun

It is my friend N's birthday! Yay! I bet she got the day off for her birthday. Good for her. I bought a present for her. It is a DKNY shirt. I like the color and fabric. Surely it will look nice in the Spring and Summer.

My birthday is coming too (on January 29). I do not know if N and I can hang out and celebrate our birthdays this weekend. Last year we went to Downtown Fort Worth and sang karaoke in one of the restaurant bars at Sundance Square. 'Have not called and asked her yet. That would be lots of fun if we can hang out again. In the meantime, my gift for her will stay with me until she is off any time this week.

Gift Cards As Presents

I received these gift cards on Christmas:

Victoria's Secret = $ 20
Dillards = $ 30
Macaroni Grill = $ 25

It is also nice to give gift cards as presents to family and friends on special occasions you know. Because you do not have to worry about looking for personal gift items. In addition, the recipient can look or buy anything that he or she likes. It is a matter of convenience.

I like receiving gift cards (from the stores or restaurants that I really like). But I still prefer receiving personally touched presents.

Oh well, I should use these gift cards before I forget about them.

Today's Humor: Marriage Quotes

Smile. It is Monday :)

-- At a cocktail party, one woman said to another, Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?" Yes, I am. I married the wrong man."

-- A lady inserted an 'ad' in the classifieds: "Husband Wanted". Next day she received a hundred letters. They all said the same thing: "You can have mine."

-- When a woman steals your husband, there is no better revenge than to let her keep him.

-- A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?" Father replied, "I don't know son, I'm still paying."

-- Young son: "Is it true Dad, that in some parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?" Dad: "That happens in every country, son."

-- Just think, if it weren't for marriage, men would go through life thinking they had no faults at all.

-- Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a big gut, and still think they are attractive to the opposite sex.

Weekend Snapshot: Is My Plant Ill?

Look at my plant, is it withering or hibernating? I have this for almost two years now but I've never seen my Amaryllis like this before. Since the winter started, my plant looked very ill. I am feeling sad right now. 'Watered it and put some plant food in the soil. If my Amaryllis is just hibernating, I hope it will bloom flowers in the Spring.

Along With My Spring Outfit

Time flies fast. It is January again and my birthday is approaching. Yay! Anyway, more than two more months to go and spring is here. I cannot wait to wear my spring shoes. Hush puppies shoes are the most comfortable footwear in the world. They are a popular designer brand in my country.

Spring and summer are my favorite seasons of the year. 'Makes me feel active outdoors. Now I am imagining myself visiting the Rose Garden in Tyler wearing my cropped denim jacket along with my spring outfit. It is not complete without my favorite shoes either/or a pair of flowery teva flip flops. I love wearing flip flops too.

On A Typical Leisure Day

Whenever my friend N and I have the same day off, we agree to cook Filipino food at her place. In fact, she cooked shrimp in coconut milk with vegetables, and I made some pansit (noodles) the other day. Then we watched Sharon Cuneta's movie Caregiver. It's a drama flick.

Sometimes if we do not have anything to do after eating, we go to the mall and look for some bargains. One day we had the same day off, N wanted to use her store gift card and buy something for herself. We went to a department store and stopped at the shoes department. You know what happen? She saw a pair of size 5 pink thong sandals. Excited, she showed it to me and had me tried them on. They fit. For $ 9.00, the sandals was me. It happens often whenever our day off falls on the same day. Honestly, I do not remember what she bought.

Success In Future Endeavors

My baby sister is graduating from high school two months from now. She is getting excited to go to college though she is still not quite sure of what course to take. But my mother said my sister is interested in computers and money. And she is interested to work in a bank. Hhmm. So my sister should take Accountancy or Banking Finance major course in college.

Well, these two college courses are a challenge because she has to deal with numbers. Mathematics skills and knowledge, if well-practiced, is a big advantage. In the first year of college, Algebra is mandatory. An Algebra Help online will be useful since my sister has a laptop with an Internet connection. Math Help will be easy for her too. Though an Algebra Tutoring service is offered by educators in the neighborhood, still my sister needs online help whenever she is home on the weekends.

We want my sister to become successful whatever endeavor she will take. I know a bright future is waiting for her.
