Fall Colors in My Yard

Happy December everyone! It is so nice to see the beautiful fall colors in my yard.  My tree is so pretty.  It's enjoying the Texas fall weather here before dropping the leaves off for the winter.  Nature is amazing.

Migrating Snow Geese In Sunrise

Good morning! Happy day! One of the things I am happy today is that I got the chance to capture this beautiful sunrise and the migrating snow geese at the same time.  :)  It's a beautiful day.  Hope you'll be happy today.

Sunset Over Nevada

Sunset and the crescent moon. :)
I went outside to water the plants around 7:00 P.M.  It was still bright and the ground got a little cool.  Super hot and dry summer in Texas that it can bring drought.  So watering the plants and trees should be done frequently.  I feel sad to see my plants unhappy and wilted.  Don't we all?

After all the work, I looked up the night sky and saw the crescent moon.  I feel good looking up in the sky.  And capturing it's beauty during sunset makes it more worthwhile.

Tiny Ligustrum Flowers

Ligustrum flowers.
The sunshine yesterday was nice.  Although it was very humid, my daughter and I went out for a short walk and played tag for a little while on the driveway.  Didn't take long and we got very hot so we decided to check on the Ligustrum bushes in the backyard. Sure they're blooming really well again this year.  Unfortunately, not many butterflies are hovering around and feeding.  We only saw maybe not more than five of them.  Unlike two years ago, there were lots of butterflies and bees feeding on the Ligustrum flowers.  Mom and Dad were here on Memorial Day weekend two years ago and they were mesmerized with the scenery.

We are still hoping for the butterflies to come visit our Ligustrum flowers this month.

Bird On A Sign

Mockingbird.
Bird watching?  Not really.   I just love taking pictures of birds whenever there is a chance. They are quick so sometimes I had to be very slow and quiet so they won't fly away.

This mockingbird was tweeting lively on a post across the road in front of our house.  I was standing in front of my husband's truck, as you can see, that's the roof top of the truck.  It makes me feel good to see and hear birds singing around.

A Very Fuzzy Caterpillar

Fuzzy caterpillar.
We have company this weekend.  My friend's dog is here for the weekend because she and her family were leaving for Alabama to visit her brother and parents.

When I was about to take the dog for a walk in the backyard this morning, I saw this scary-looking fuzzy caterpillar sitting on one of my crocs sandals.  I had to call my husband to get rid of it for me. The dog might try to sniff it. This is the type of a caterpillar that stings.  Eek!

It gives me goosebumps looking at the picture.

Nothing More Precious Than This - A Day By The Lake

Cute tiny blue weed flowers.
My family and I love going out together.  We went to see the Lake Lavon to see how the water level had gone up since the past rainy weekends last month.  We were happy that it went up to 80 percent. That was according to my brother-in-law who checked the lake water level status online.

So we went down to the lake and threw some rocks into the water.  My darling daughter likes to do that.  Then we found a small playground close to the picnic area.  We took a few of our pictures there.   I just couldn't resist not to take a photo of these cute tiny blue flowers.  They're actually weed flowers.  But they're so pretty.

By the lake with my loves.
It was a beautiful day that weekend.  Perfect day to stroll and just enjoy the beauty of nature with your family.  There is nothing more precious than this.

Weekend Snapshots: Clovers, Sunset

Clovers in our flower beds.
It's my day off today.  The plan was to visit my cousin and her kids this afternoon but when I called my cousin she said they were still in town.  They'll be home around 4:00 P.M.  Well, I decided to just stay home.  It's raining all day anyway so my daughter and I just kind of hung out by ourselves at home. There was a flood warning and a tornado warning in our area (Collin County), too.

We waited for the rain to stop and when it did, we went outside to play for a while.  When the rain started to pour again, we went back inside the house and watched our favorite movies.

When we were outside the house, my daughter and I checked on the roses.  Then we pulled out some weeds - mostly clovers.  And this evening, a beautiful sunset became visible after the rain.

Sunset.  View from my front porch.

There Is Always Sunshine After The #Snow Storm

Beautiful sunrise.
Snow on the back porch.
Well I think this is considered to be the last freeze of the Winter season before the Spring comes.  It was snowing like crazy overnight last night due to the Winter storm.  I think we got about four inches of snow here in our area. I was very excited to go outside to play for a while in the snow with my little girl.  I know she'd love to build a snow girl again. :)

But my darling daughter woke up around eleven o'clock in the morning so I went took a few pictures of the outdoors with the snow.  Our front and back porches were covered with snow.  I couldn't even see the driveway.  My husband said he had difficulty backing up on the driveway when he was going to work.

DD wakes up slow so I let her have a little breakfast - chocolate milk and peanut butter sandwich.  Then we went outside after awhile.  We made two snowmen - a snowgirl and a snowman.  This time they're a little bigger than the previous one we made last weekend.  We played snowball fight. She had so much fun.

The temperature rose a bit this afternoon and the snow started to melt slowly and became slushy.

Winter Wonderland In North Texas

Snow on the trees in the backyard.
So we got snow again today.  The winter storm advisory took effect at 6:00 A.M. this morning until 6:00 P.M. tomorrow, Saturday night.  We had about 2 inches of snow here in our area.  Dallas and some parts of Northeast Texas had snow up to 4 inches deep. The temperature was between 26 to 29 degrees Fahrenheit all day.

We didn't have plans to go out this morning but my darling daughter asked for Chicken and Cheese Wraps for breakfast.  I don't have them in the refrigerator so we drove to the gas station close by to buy the food that she's wanting.

A dove up high in the tree.
DD checking how deep the snow is.
Since it's below freezing temperature, I decided to buy a stack of firewood. It sells $25 at the gas station.  Pretty high priced.  I built a fire at the fireplace as soon as we got home because we were shivering cold. :)  My husband came home from work at about 1:30 in the afternoon.

The ground is all white except the roads.
