Christmas Celebration 2014

It's the Holiday season. Christmas presents were ready.
Yes I began shopping and wrapped Christmas gifts almost every night after Thanksgiving Day.  It's a little stressful thing to do but it is exciting at the same time because I thought of the special people in my life while gift wrapping.

We celebrated Christmas at the folks'.  The kids couldn't wait to open their gifts as soon as we arrived from the worship service and finished eating the meal on Christmas Eve.  My darling daughter got some great stuff.  She even received what she was wishing for - a Barbie Dream House.  She also received a Go-Go Fur Real Friends Puppy.  Thanks to her aunt, uncle, cousins, Na-na, and Paw-Paw.

Liver Dip. So good.
The Christmas Dinner was so delicious.  The highlight dish of the evening was the Liver Dip.  I thought it was ice cream when I first saw it.  I tried it and it was so good.  Mom makes delicious food especially on occasions like this.

Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone.
I enjoyed watching the children taking turns in opening their presents.  Sometimes I helped my daughter opened hers.  My Christmas gift this year was given to me in advance already.  I asked for a new cellphone and my dear husband let me get it.

How about you?  How's your Christmas celebration?  What did you receive this year?

The Best Eye Make Up Remover

It was a wonderful thing to receive something that you really really like and need.  Especially if you are receiving nice things from Influenster.  Free goodies in the mail? How cool is that?

One of the nice products I got from Influenster are these Rimmel Eye Make Up Remover and Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner.  They came right in time because I needed a new eyeliner.  I seldom apply makeup but when I do, I wanted my cosmetics to be non-sticky and non-irritable on my skin.  Our eyes are delicate and sensitive so it is advisable to use something that will not irritate our eyes.

Because the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner is waterproof, I needed an eye make up remover that will completely take the eye makeup away.  The Rimmel Eye Make Up Remover did the wonders.  I was very impressed with it.  It doesn't have an alcohol smell and it just soothes my eyes after I removed the makeup.  My whole face was feeling light again.

*I received these items complimentary from Influenster for testing and review purposes.

Company Christmas Party 2014

Let us celebrate.
Happy Holidays, everyone!  It's the most wonderful time of the year.  Families and friends get together.  Holiday parties are held everywhere.  I honestly tell you that Holiday season is my much-look-forward-to time of the year.  I always feel the cheer and excitement when this special occasion comes.

My husband and I attend his company's Holiday party last Saturday.  It was held at an Italian restaurant.  I was glad that the venue is closer to our place this time and I just had to let my cousin watch for our darling daughter for a few hours that evening.

It's great to know and see that companies like my husband's give yearly Holiday parties like this.  It is very motivating and rewarding.  I got to meet and mingle with his co-employees in parties like this.  And, it is also a great time to celebrate for the wonderful year that the company had.

Merry Christmas!  Cheers to you.  And let us not forget the main reason of the season. We are remembering the birth of Christ.  We are celebrating a birthday.  May the Almighty's graces be with us in the New Year and always.

DD Had A Great Time On Her Birthday

"Look how many cards I got, mom."- K
It's my darling daughter's birthday. She is growing up fast. She definitely will become taller than me when she turns 9 years old. That's okay. I will be very happy if she will be tall.

Anyway, we celebrated her birthday at my sister-in-law's place Saturday afternoon.  I was surprised when my sister-in-law told me that she planned a small birthday party for DD.  And they bought some birthday balloons for her. Gladly I got the cake and brought it with us.  That's so sweet of them.  My darling daughter a great time with her cousins as well.  And then we watched The Nutcracker show that evening.  That was her Na-na's birthday present to her. :)

Dense Fog

Fog
It's a foggy day today.  Actually, it started coming last night.  There's a dense fog warning so driving in this condition is very dangerous especially in the evening.

I thought it'll clear up today. I will go out to do some errands sometime this afternoon.  I almost forgot that I have a package to ship.

Excruciating Headache

An excruciating headache woke me up this morning.  My body was feeling so heavy and I was nauseous.  I wasn't able to do anything except laying on the couch and rest while my darling daughter was playing play doh and doll house.

The weather was very pleasant because it's in the 70 degrees.  Though it was breezy, it was a great day to go outside and play.  I couldn't get my body to cooperate.  I took a pain reliever to get rid of the headache so I can at least watch my little girl ride her bike in the driveway.  But I was feeling tired and weak.

My strength came back slowly as the day went by.  I managed to prepare dinner for us and loaded the laundry into the washer and dryer.  Because it's Thanksgiving Day week, I want lessen the chores because we are going to our folks on Thanksgiving Day.  Gladly I am feeling better as of this moment.

Access Your Remote Worksite With Temporary Roadways

Don’t let any terrain keep you from where you need to be. Even the most inaccessible working areas can be reached with temporary roadways from Quality Mat Company. When you’re looking for a suitable surface, temporary access roads made from interlocking ground protection mats are an ideal solution.

Before the 1970s, when Quality Mat Company introduced this method of road building, site operators were forced to take drastic measures to arrive at their construction location. Using aggregate road material or fill was one option, while some contractors chose to use a more labor-intensive process of laying individual timber boards alongside one another until a surface was created. Work schedules for projects continued to grow larger and longer.

Once interlocking mats were used to build temporary roadways, everything changed for the better. East to install and remove, these temporary access roads allowed not only shorter set up and removal of job sites, but also faster travel time for heavy machinery.
Distributing weight across the network of mats allowed the mats to provide a more stable base without damaging the ground beneath. With their laminated finish, these interlocking mats will stand up to years of heavy use on any type of job site.

To order your mats and create a temporary roadway to your next construction site, contact Quality Mat Company today at 800-227-8159.

Weekend Snapshots: Queen's Tea Party At The Rose Festival

It was a very pleasant day this past weekend and my daughter and I visited the folks in Tyler.  My little one was very happy to see her grandparents, as usual.

My mother-in-law informed me ahead of time that the annual Rose Festival is on going that weekend. I haven't seen the Rose Festival in Tyler since I got here in Texas.  That Saturday's event was the Rose Queen's Tea party.  The Rose Queen 2014 and her court were gathered at the Rose Garden to meet and greet the public.  So only the three of us went - mom, DD, and me.

There's tea served on one table.  Bottled water and cookies on the other ones.  The cookies tasted really good.  Mom said that the Rose Festival theme varies every year.  This year's is circus theme.  So all the extravagant gowns are designed with the circus inspired in them.

Rose Festival at the Rose Garden - Tyler, TX
I was in awe with the Rose Queen's and the duchesses' gowns.  They were all creatively designed and made.  I bet those gowns were extremely expensive.

The train of the Rose Queen's gown hung and displayed in the garden at the Queen's Tea party.

Weekend Snapshots: Christmas Wreaths

My custom-made Christmas wreath from last year.

Christmas wreath I saw at a garage sale.
The Holidays are fast approaching and I cannot wait to put our Christmas decorations up.  But I cannot start until after Thanksgiving Day.  I am shopping for new Christmas tree ornaments.  My daughter and I are planning to change the color theme for the tree this year.  And, maybe, we will buy a new tree next month.

For the front door Holiday decor, I saw this red wreath at a garage sale.  I thought of buying it but I recalled I have my own Christmas wreath in the attic.  I will just hang it again next month.  Although red is my favorite color, I will just stick to my own wreath.  I think mine is prettier. :) Don't you think?

Weekend Snapshot: Hubby's Birthday Cards

Happy birthday to my dear husband. He's a half century old like he said. :) He's so funny.  He told me ahead of time that he doesn't want to have a party on his birthday.  So we just had dinner at Big Daddy's Barbeque Restaurant located in Lavon (Texas).  We haven't been there in a while.  I remember the last time we ate there, my darling daughter liked the place.

As for the birthday gifts, I couldn't think of something but a gift card.  And that's what he got as usual.

Natural Supplements to Support Good Health

In the best of all possible worlds, we’d be getting all the vitamins and minerals we need from our food. And while that’s the best way to maximize their benefits, most of us need help from time to time with supplements. That can be particularly true when we find ourselves struggling with certain mental or physical ailments or when we want to engage in some preventative health care as we head into cold and flu season.

Almost everyone has some health issues at some point in their lives, some a natural result of aging and some a result of our nutritional habits. Helping your body by supplementing with sufficient types of vitamins and minerals is one way to engage in self-care. Shops like ovitaminpro.com offer a wide variety of supplements to choose from. One way to shop for supplements is to look at their list of health concerns, which range from things like anxiousness and fatigue to gluten sensitivity, indigestion, allergies, to bone and brain supports. The shop also sorts their product lines by types of formulas, such as liquids, topic gels and vitamin and herbal combinations, as well as by brands and bestsellers.
Before making supplement purchases, speaking to a medical doctor or naturopath about your particular health issues is a good idea. Online supplement shops like this one often make recommendations for certain ailments, or even recommendations for certain lab tests you can get to determine if you have certain vitamin or mineral deficiencies. You can use those recommendations to formulate the questions you want to ask your health practitioner directly, so that you can make wise and informed decisions about your health.

Many supplement shops, including ovitaminpro, also sell supplements to support your pet’s health as well as your own. Canine and feline friends, often so dear to us, can have health issues too. You can find a range of products to support your pets’ health, from chews that will help larger dogs with hip and joint issues to calming chews for cats and small dogs. You can also find natural supplements to support pet immune systems and to give them healthier skin and coats.

Gratitude Challenge - Day 5 of 5

Day 5/5 - Gratitude Challenge

Today I am thankful:
1.  for the online tasks received today.  It is great to have regular online jobs that I can do on my free time.
2.  the cousins' visit.  My little one is always anxious to see and play with her cousins.  It's a pleasure to have them.  Not only they have a great time playing, they also get the chance to be with each other.
The girls were just enjoying the play time.
3.  that I am getting by...somehow.  I may not have the big opportunities that every one else has but I am very thankful for the comfortable life I am enjoying right now.

So, it's the end of the 5-day gratitude challenge on my part.  But it doesn't mean I will cease.  No.  It doesn't end.  As long as we have air to breath, gratefulness shall always be.

Tagging Emz, Anne, and Elenie.

Gratitude Challenge - Day 4 of 5

Day 4/5 - Gratitude Challenge

Today I am thankful:

1.  for a beautiful morning.  My cousin brought some yummy food and a pretty house plant.  It is called a spider plant.

Spider plant.
2.  for coffee.  And I am always thankful to the one who discovered it and how it helps to relax me.  :)
3.  that it is pay day again.  Big or small, it is still one of the things to be thankful for.  Some people are struggling to find a job.  I am happy that I was given this opportunity to work again even if it is only a part time job.

How about you?  What are you thankful for today?

Gratitude Challenge - Day 3 of 5

Day 3/5 - Gratitude Challenge

Today, I am thankful:

1.  for a smooth day.
2.  that I did not hit the coyote.  When my daughter and I were on the road on our way home from my work last night at about 8 o'clock, a coyote (I am pretty sure it was a coyote!) crossed the road.  He was quite a few feet away on front of me.  But he ran fast that he was on the other pretty quick.

3.  a nice dinner prepared by dear husband.  :)

Gratitude Challenge - Day 2 of 5

Day 2/5 - Gratitude Challenge

Today, I am thankful for:
1.  another work week.  I just started on a part time job last week.
2.  good health, happiness, and love around me everyday.
3.  my cousin's new love life.  I told her that she is not getting any younger. :) She is in love and her husband-to-be feels the same way with her.  Hopefully everything goes well in the processing of the fiance(e) visa.

I had a nice day today.  My daughter and I went out to lunch with my dear husband and his office mates.  We met two newly hired staff and the boss.

Gratitude Challenge - Day 1 of 5

Yesterday I received a tag from a blogger friend.  She is challenging me to post three things I am most thankful for.  The  challenge runs for five days.  Well, I accepted the challenge.  And here they are.

Day 1/5 - Gratitude Challenge

Today, I am very thankful for:
1. yesterday's family time out of town.  My dear husband promised to take darling daughter to the park and let her ride her bike there.  The weather was nice.  Though it was sunny, we strolled on the trails where there are shades from the trees.  We had a great time feeding the...turtles.  Yes turtles.  There were ducks around the pond but seemed like they were shy or regularly fed because they just ignored the popcorn.  But the turtles came and ate some popcorn we threw into the water.

2. it's Fall season again.  I am ready for cool weather in the Fall.  And so happy that it has come again.  In the next few days, cooler breeze and changing color of the leaves will be felt and seen.

3. regular communication from family and friends here and overseas.  This always makes my day.

Have a wonderful week y'all.  By this weekend, I will be tagging three people (family and friends) to do the challenge. :)

Our Lunch Today - Rice, Garden Salad, and Shrimp

Photo Challenge Day 16 - Balanced

Balanced diet.
This is my entry to the photo challenge for the month of September.  I know it's kind of late to join but I am doing it anyway.  Balanced is today's photo topic.  I thought I'd share with you our lunch today. And I think it's a balanced diet.  Rice, eggs, green salad, and shrimp are very delicious and nutritious.  And to keep our meals balanced, I do my best to serve vegetables or fruits at the table.

Why Is A Fire Resistant Safe So Important?

Fire resistant safe.
A fire resistant is important for every homeowner, and it is best for people to check this out before they buy the safe. No one wants something bad to happen in their home, but a fire resistant safe can be used to make sure even a fire cannot destroy the guns in the house.

The Fire Safe

The fire safe is a good thing for someone who owns guns because guns and ammunition can make a fire much worse. If a fire were to reach the guns in the house, the ammunition could explode and create an even worse situation. Also, the homeowner needs to have a way to protect them special items. A fire safe can be used for many things, but there are many fire safes that are made just for guns.

Use Them For Other Things

The fire safe in the house that is in use can be used for items other than guns. The drawers and shelves in the safe must be used to protect special papers and documents that the family owns. Also, the family should make sure that they put their most valuable collectibles in the safe. These possessions may not be replaceable by the homeowner's insurance policy, and the homeowner can recover funds that they might have lost otherwise.

Hide Them

Large fire safes are made to resist anything. Someone who is trying to break into the safe is likely not going to be successful, and the homeowner should put the safe in a place where it cannot be seen. The back of the closet or a guest room is the best place for the safe. The safe will survive all break-ins and fires, and the homeowner will not be troubled to find something when they need it.

Every fire safe for the home must be used for the most volatile and valuable things in the house. Protecting guns and ammunition is wise for the homeowner, but the fire safe can be used for many other things that the homeowner needs to protect. One investment can save the family a great deal of trouble.
