No Coffee For Me For A While

Drinking coffee has been my habit since I was a teenager. Coffee is a part of our daily breakfast at home. With a plate of rice, fried dried fish and eggs, or pieces of pandesal with margarine and a cup of hot coffee will make our morning going. I tried drinking milk once in while but never get used to it.

My parents, siblings and I help one another to get the children in the family into the habit of drinking milk. So far, it is getting successful.

Now that I am pregnant, I need to get extra calcium for my body and baby's development. My doctor advised me to drink three glasses of milk a day! I know it is too much but I need to follow her advice. It is for the health of me and my baby.

First Pregnancy Sonogram

'Got a first picture of my baby :) I was so misty eyed when my OB/Gyn took the first sonogram on my 11th week of pregnancy, and she showed me the heartbeat, the measurement, and the 3D image. My baby is so beautiful.

Everybody in the family is very happy when they saw the sonogram. Whenever they come to my parents' house, my niece and nephew requests my sister to open the pictures in her laptop so they can see them again.

Moving Soon

At the end of this month we are giving our 60-day notice to the apartment leasing office. We are moving soon. We need more room for the new member of the family. Plus, paying two storage rooms (for the house's furniture and fixtures) in two years is too much and needs to be lowered down.

It is time to change pace. Though looking for a place to rent and moving is a lot work, the challenge is always ahead. The expenses is getting higher now. We need to cut some of them down for the betterment of our financial status and in preparation for the coming of our little one.

Petition To Remove Conditons On Residency

I finally submitted my documents for the Removal of Conditions on Residence two weeks ago. I thought it will take me longer to gather the required documents. Though I have to submit them during the 90 days period (before the Permanent Resident Card expires), I would rather be early in mailing the packet to avoid problems.

I already received a Notice of Action (NOA) from the Department of Homeland Security. That means they got my packet and my application/petition is now on process. What I am waiting now is the schedule for Biometrics appointment.

Our Vacation In Florida Was Wonderful!

This is a guest post by Yolanda Rice

Last summer my husband and I decided to take the children and visit our friend in Florida. She happens to live near Sea World and Disney land, which made for a wonderful holiday experience. The children were eager to see her and her children again as it had been close to a year since we had seen any of them. So we started making our plans to go and stay for a week.

When the time came we made sure that we had packed everything we were going to need. We took the dog to a kennel and made sure she was settled in and comfortable. Then we made sure that we had the house all secure and that we set our ADT wireless home alarm system before we set off on our trip. We had decided to drive instead of fly, so we were packed up and on our way.

The trip took us a few days, which was pretty good considering we were traveling with two little children. Once we arrived in our friends town we contacted her so that she was prepared for us. We had made plans to stay at her house for the time we were going to be there for our vacation. We were all so happy to see each other again. We spent the next week with her showing us all around and taking us to all the attractions and sites. The children loved it and we had a great time too. She told us that the next time we came to visit we must stay with her and her family again.

Manageable Hairstyle

After thinking and waiting for weeks, I finally had my hair cut. That was two weeks ago. Since we came back from vacation, I have been wanting my hair to have a new look. I mean, not really the glamorous look but, the style that I am used to. I am comfortable with this hairstyle because it is easy to manage. My hair is straight and stubborn :)

I tried putting highlights on and curled my hair only once (a long time ago). I do not think I will do it again. I love my hair. A very nice shampoo and conditioner help keeping it soft, manageable and smelling good.

Surprising Gesture Of Love

Tired and hungry from work. My body is ready to relax and my stomach is ready to digest a delicious dinner. But these were before I got home.

My honey cooked a two-course meal this evening. He made lomein and stir-fry shrimp and pork with vegetables. I thought of this as a special dinner for Mother's Day to me. Haha!

The surprising gesture was, my honey has a bouquet of red roses for me on the table. It comes with a greeting card. Though it is not a Mother's Day card, the words written in it are enough to touch my heart. It is a mother-to-be present for me. This morning I thought if my honey does not come up with something, I will be very disappointed. But he surprised me!

Mother's Day Gift To Me

OMG! I did not expect this lovely gift from my girl friend D. She came to me in my area to get her pass for the things she shopped at Zales. Suddenly she said, "O Mar, this is for you. It's from me and N okay? For mother's day." Then she smiled. I know what for :) I was like, "Really? Oh, thank you so much. How sweet!" I was so surprised.
