My daughter sleeps in her crib very good. This is the third night she's is sleeping in her bedroom, which is nice. That means she is comfortable in her room. She have outgrown the bassinet already. I am doing my best to keep the consistency of our routine so everybody is gonna be happy. I love it!

Separation Anxiety
My daughter is having separation anxiety whenever I leave her with her daddy. Like few hours ago, she was crying when I was gone to the store. My honey tried everything to comfort her. Rocking, talking, and playing did not work for baby. And when I got home, my daughter stopped crying when she saw me...giving me a sweet smile. Aw...!
Separation anxiety is normal in babies. But there are several ways to manage it. What I need to do now is to give daddy and baby girl more time together, so she will feel safe and secure when I am not around.

Dads And Moms Hard-wired to Love Babies Differently
Researchers studying bonding between parents and babies recently mad a discovery. Oxytocin levels reached their peak during the times mothers were caressing, hugging or simply gazing in their babies' faces. Dads, however, had bursts of the hormone (known as the "love hormone" by scientists) during playful interaction, such as rolling around with the baby encouraging him or her to explore, lightly tossing the child in the air causing laughter, or encouraging the child to sit up. The study also found infants were more likely to prefer their fathers for positive playful interaction while preferring mothers' comfort for distress.

Babies Come In Their Own Schedule
Today is my cousin's delivery due date. But the sign of labor is not quite intense, yet. She has spotting once in a while, and last night she had contractions. She is getting close to delivering her first baby. I am happy for her.
On the other hand, I too, will be having my first baby in six weeks. My honey and I are full of anticipation now. We cannot wait to meet our baby girl. We are patient. Babies come in their own schedule.

Evaluating The Developing Baby's Well-Being
After an hour of waiting, it was my turn to go for an ultrasound. It is not just an ultrasound. It is a high quality ultrasound examination done between 14-18 weeks of pregnancy to evaluate the developing baby's well-being in the mother's womb.
The specialist started the high precision scan on my belly. We saw the baby's image in the big screen. He measured the head, the brain, the spine, the arms, the thighs, the stomach, and he also checked the heart. My baby is well and everything's normal. She is in the perfect position in my womb. My husband asked the specialist if he can determine the gender. He said yes. So he went on and said, "It's a girl."

Expecting A Baby Girl
Oh wee!!! I am so glad for my cousin E. She had her ultrasound, and as happy as I am, she sent me a message in Facebook saying that they are expecting a baby girl. Wonderful! She said her speculations were true.
I can guess that she is very busy thinking about little girl's stuff for the nursery as well as busy shopping too.
I do not know what's my baby's gender yet. Hopefully, my OB/Gyn will tell me in the next appointment on the third week of this month. I can't wait!

No Coffee For Me For A While
Drinking coffee has been my habit since I was a teenager. Coffee is a part of our daily breakfast at home. With a plate of rice, fried dried fish and eggs, or pieces of pandesal with margarine and a cup of hot coffee will make our morning going. I tried drinking milk once in while but never get used to it.
My parents, siblings and I help one another to get the children in the family into the habit of drinking milk. So far, it is getting successful.
Now that I am pregnant, I need to get extra calcium for my body and baby's development. My doctor advised me to drink three glasses of milk a day! I know it is too much but I need to follow her advice. It is for the health of me and my baby.
