Home Security in the 21st Century

Feeling safe in your home
I remember when I brought my first child home from the hospital late one winter night. My husband was so careful driving home. He went about 20 miles per hour below the speed limit just to be extra careful with our new bundle of joy in the car. We felt like we were carrying around an incredible fragile egg and we would do anything to protect it. The same thing went for our house. It had never occurred to me to have an alarm system on our home until that first night with our little girl in the house. Suddenly our safety was bigger than just my husband and I it was also about our child. We decided that night to start looking in to alarm systems for our home. We wanted to know anything and everything there was to know about alarms and making our home feel safer. We found Home Security 101 through a neighbor who had gone through a similar feeling after bringing their first child home. It was such a relief to know that we had secured our home.

Staying Safe During the Cold Months
First and foremost, make sure that you are setting your home alarm from INHOMESECURITY.com before you leave your house. This is simply because criminals tend to get more desperate for the essentials during colder and more drastic months.
Second, make sure that your family has the appropriate clothing for this type of weather. For example, your children should not be leaving the house dressed in anything less than a heavy duty winter coat, appropriate pants, thick shoes and warm headwear. This will keep them optimally warm and safe. Even though this is extremely important for children, it's also important for you and other adults in the family as well.
Additionally, make sure that you're going to have the extra funds available to finance the increased electric bill. Having a heated home all winter long will surely increase your electric bill, and if you're not exactly prepared for more financial stress, this could be a problem. Be prepared financially to take care of the increased costs for heating as well as extra supplies in case of an emergency.

Major Purchases on Black Friday
Guest post by Sally Gates
While most people are intent on doing their Christmas Shopping on Black Friday, I always spend the day shopping for expensive items like computers or television sets and whatnot because that's the only way you can save real money. I mean if you're saving 70% or whatever on an item that costs under $20, it's just not worth staying up all night lining up in front of a store in the freezing cold. That's like making $14 over 10 hours or something like that. If I'm going to go through the hassle of taking a day off from work and setting up camp, it better be for a major purchase that saves me tons and tons of money. Since I leave my home unattended all night long, I also have to make sure to set my home security alarm from Securitychoice.com/ before I go out to shop.
So anytime I have to make a major purchase, I hold out till Black Friday rolls around. Sometimes it takes some researching to find specific items that I'm looking for. Kitchen appliances are the number one thing I have difficulty finding. As I've found that most of the appliances available are fairly generic and not worth the cost. Basically, there is a reason why these items are on clearance. This year I'm probably going to be looking for a microwave as my current one appears to be on the fritz.

A Weekend At The Library
This guest post from Walter Horn
The library is one of the best places on earth. There's no place that will allow you to read the newspapers from different states and magazines that cover such a broad field of topics. It's a super resource center that puts a world of knowledge right at your fingertips.
There's no way to express my full admiration for the people that originally invented this concept. It's the best place on earth for indulging in the world of the written word. I have always loved books, and I love to write. The library gives me an opportunity to read and a quiet space to write. It's the best of both worlds.
I go on Saturdays because I know that there are few people that will wake up and think of going to the library on the weekend. It's always busy during the weekdays. The weekend is different. People are at home watching games or out shopping on Saturday. No one is checking out library books but me. I usually leave home and set my home security alarm. I get some brunch from the local eatery and go directly to the library.
It feels just like home when I'm there, and I always want to hang around for longer than I attended to. I check all the different books and try to decide what I will check out.

What I Do In The Fall
Some people like spring, while others prefer winter. I, however, tend to tilt my heart towards the fall. With so many pretty leaves changing color, along with the cooler temperatures, how can I resist?
When this season comes around, I always seem to want to go to places like cider mills. There is just something about the atmosphere that gets to me. It's like I've stepped back into another, simpler time when I visit one. Sure, there are people dressed in modern clothes, talking on cell phones as they buy their cider, but my point still stands.
I never go alone. What would the fun be in that? Usually, I talk a family member into going, after getting ready and setting the home security alarm from http://www.Besthomesecurity.com. My mom is the most enthusiastic about it, but sometimes my sister might tag along. Once we get there, we like to go inside to look at everything for sale. They have cinnamon donuts, apple pies, and so much more. That's not to say we buy anything, though. The prices are rather high. But everything smells nice, and we like to go around sniffing things.
Probably one of my favorite parts of this fall event is picking out a pumpkin. I've never bought one in a grocery store, and don't ever plan on doing so. It's much more fun to get it directly, if not almost directly, from the source. It's a lot more satisfying that way, and so many memories are created.

15 Years of the Gym
The gym has been a staple in my life since my first year in college, about fifteen years ago. I was always a little butterball and I had finally had enough. So I turned up the heat and worked off the pounds. Now I am committed to a lifestyle that promotes health and weight loss because I know that I could become that little butterball again very easily.
I go to the gym religiously on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Before heading out I always give the dogs plenty of loving and treats, set my SecurityChoice home alarm system and grad my work out towel.
On Mondays I swim for around an hour. I try to go super early on Mondays to avoid the crowds that come, especially in summer people flock to the pool. Wednesdays I do a Zumba class that is super fun and is a great dance work out. Thursdays and Sundays I focus on running and lifting. I usually run for about an hour each day and then I do some weights. I really try to focus on my upper body because it is the hardest for me to keep toned for some reason.
I really love to eat and so keeping myself on a super healthy diet is also important to stay in shape. I have found ways to make healthy food palatable over the years.

Getting A Head Start On The Move
Moving means there are so many things that need to be done. I knew I needed to get a head start on it all, so before I even had the home picked out I was ordering boxes online packing the things I knew I was not going to need.
Choosing the perfect apartment was so hard. After hours and hours of research and phone calls, I decided on a nice 2 bedroom apartment that was large and spacious. Inside the apartment were a fireplace and a jacuzzi. I knew I was going to love it!
As soon as the deposit was paid, the rest of the arrangements for the move were made. Since the new apartment is only one city over, most of my utilities were able to just be transferred. That made it so much easier! I had to notify my Internet provider of my move since it is wireless. Luckily service was available in my new city.
I also decided it would be best to have ADT All Home Security installed in my new apartment. I was able to find a great company in the new city on the Internet. The move has been great, and I could not be happier with the great apartment!

Our Vacation In Florida Was Wonderful!
This is a guest post by Yolanda Rice
Last summer my husband and I decided to take the children and visit our friend in Florida. She happens to live near Sea World and Disney land, which made for a wonderful holiday experience. The children were eager to see her and her children again as it had been close to a year since we had seen any of them. So we started making our plans to go and stay for a week.
When the time came we made sure that we had packed everything we were going to need. We took the dog to a kennel and made sure she was settled in and comfortable. Then we made sure that we had the house all secure and that we set our ADT wireless home alarm system before we set off on our trip. We had decided to drive instead of fly, so we were packed up and on our way.
The trip took us a few days, which was pretty good considering we were traveling with two little children. Once we arrived in our friends town we contacted her so that she was prepared for us. We had made plans to stay at her house for the time we were going to be there for our vacation. We were all so happy to see each other again. We spent the next week with her showing us all around and taking us to all the attractions and sites. The children loved it and we had a great time too. She told us that the next time we came to visit we must stay with her and her family again.

For Your Personal Safety
But we come along with circumstances when we, even our property, get threatened with these harmful elements. Everyone in our home should be protected. Life alert systems can be a big help because of their high technology capacity to signal help 24/7.
So you know, my associate at work had her home installed with security system. Living alone, it is very significant for her to protect not only herself but also her possessions. Good idea, right? Security and safety in the home should not be taken for granted.

Put Your Home In Best Home Security
I know we cannot just entrust ourselves to being too open with people. There is always a limitation. We do not want bad things to happen, so we should safeguard our home. Actually, neighbors help each other. Suspicious and unfamiliar individuals seen in the neighborhood can be reported. We should observe precautions all the time.

Be Sure Your Elders Are Secured
My grandfather agreed to stay with my family back home now. My parents can attend to him and help him on emergency. If emergency happens, life alert detectors are just close by. It would be very convenient for my grandfather to visit his brother and sister who lives in the neighborhood. I can tell that my grandpa is happy to be with the family especially with his grand kids.
