Fixed The Leaks

According to the latest weather forecast, a story system is heading North Dallas and we will be experiencing heavy rains, flooding in some areas, and strong winds on Monday.  That's scary because we have plans for tomorrow.

My honey, with the help of his dad, sprayed the house against bugs and they did some yard work today.  Just in case the rain comes, the yard is clean and he does not have to mow next weekend.  He checked the whole house for leaks.  There is one in the guestroom.  My honey fixed it by replacing the caulk in one of the the joint pipes on the roof.

Everything, at least, was fixed and taken care of this weekend.  So we do not have to think about the leaks and others when the storm comes.

Better Protect Your Home From Bugs

Living in a house without air-conditioning needs high maintenance. Why? Because the house is open to dirt, dust, and bugs. We need to do a daily cleaning or dusting. Bugs come and go inside the home, ants under the dining table, and moths flying around the bright incandescent lights.

But these creatures do not disgust me like others do. What's irritating to me was when bed bugs invaded the wooden chairs inside the house. I hated that. I will not forget how nasty the skin irritation they gave me when I was a child. Eagered to get rid of them, my parents found and used a home remedy for bed bugs, which had eliminated all of them. Then, we never had bed bugs again after the treatment.

What's New In The Neighborhood

The house is pretty much doing fine right now. Everything is well inside and out(in the yard too) except the leaking vent pipe. But my honey took care of calling the builder about the problem. He will be expecting a call from them any time soon.

The neighborhood looks pretty. Some of the neighbors are starting to groom their garden. And I noticed that the other neighbors have new address plaques at their gardens. That looks neat. The house next to ours has a new address sign by the front wall. I have not thought there is a place to get a specialty wall address plaques or address signs for our homes. 'Looks cool.

Leaking Closet?

A maintenance guy from the apartment's office knocked on the door this morning asking me if I am the one who called the office requesting to check closet leaks. I was surprised because I do not know what he is talking about. I told him I did not call anybody maybe it was the people upstairs. The office staff told him it is our unit. I insisted our closet is not leaking and I did not make that call. So the maintenance guy said maybe they gave him the wrong apartment number then he walked away.

A minute later, I receive a call from my honey asking me if I called the apartment's office about a leak in the closet. I told him I did not call anybody because there is no leak in our closet. He was relieved.

An Alternative To Hassle-Free Lawn Keeping

I mentioned that we have our house leased already. Almost all the stuff in the house is in storage now except the fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave oven. It is like breathe of fresh air that the house has renters now. Eight months ago, we just travel out of town every weekend to check the house and the yard. It was pretty tiring and impractical to travel back and forth during the summer. The gas price boosted up and the lawn mower consumes a gallon of gas. The grass grew so quickly. I came up thinking what the yard would look like if it has the synthetic grass on it. We might not work too hard maintaining the yard. See, synthetic lawn is the closest substitute to natural grass landscaping. For people who have a busy lifestyle and own a house with space in front or in the backyard, the idea of installing artificial lawn may possibly come into mind. Besides, the hassle of seeding, sodding, watering, aerating, or mowing will be out of the way. You will find this artificial grass at EasyTurf. EasyTurf provides professional installation services that are performed by fully trained and licensed installers.

Few weeks ago I watched a television show where they featured the house of a popular female Hollywood celebrity. Her house has an impressive synthetic lawn near the pool where the female celebrity and her family spend their leisure time. How cool is that?

The Dishwasher and Disposal Are Fixed

When I was cleaning off the clutters in the kitchen yesterday, I noticed that the disposal is not working. Then when I was done loading the dishes in the dishwasher and starting it on, there was no water. I wonder what happened so I called the apartment's office and asked for a maintenance staff to come over to check the disposal. The maintenance guy came this morning and fixed the problem. He said the blades got stuck up. I am relieved that the sink disposal and the dishwasher is fixed. Right now, the dishes and utensils are enjoying their bath (smiles).
