Evaluating The Developing Baby's Well-Being

After an hour of waiting, it was my turn to go for an ultrasound. It is not just an ultrasound. It is a high quality ultrasound examination done between 14-18 weeks of pregnancy to evaluate the developing baby's well-being in the mother's womb.

The specialist started the high precision scan on my belly. We saw the baby's image in the big screen. He measured the head, the brain, the spine, the arms, the thighs, the stomach, and he also checked the heart. My baby is well and everything's normal. She is in the perfect position in my womb. My husband asked the specialist if he can determine the gender. He said yes. So he went on and said, "It's a girl."
