Safe And Successful Delivery

I am very thankful to God that my delivery was successful. Although I had complications with my pregnancy and problems came up during labor, my baby had given me the inner strength I need. My honey and parents-in-law were there for support. Me, my family, and friends prayed for our safety.

I have no complain with my health care provider. She handled a high-risk patient like me with proper, absolute care. Everything was well-managed. And she had my cooperation. For a very satisfactory woman's health care, I recommend my health care provider.

Three Hours! Imagine?

What a long wait at the doctor's office yesterday afternoon. Three hours! Imagine? Who would be patient to wait that long? Me. Because I do not want to come back for another appointment except in the next month. I ate all the snacks I brought with me. Still, 'not called.

I had another appointment that afternoon so I went to the front desk and told the staff about my situation. After ten minutes, I was called to see the doctor. Then another 10 minutes, I was called to take my medicine.

Anyway, glad everything went well with the consultation. I am gaining weight and the medication dosage was lowered. That's good. But the therapy continues for eighteen weeks.

Gestational Diabetes In Pregnancy

Well, it was disappointing. The Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) did not came out good. As what the nurse told me over the phone today, two out of four blood tests from the glucose test came back with high sugar level. Meaning, I have gestational diabetes.

The good news is that gestational diabetes is treatable. If is not treated, there will be a problem. My OB-GYN scheduled me for an appointment with a dietitian next week.

Oral Glucose Tolerance Test

The oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is scheduled tomorrow morning at eight. I have to fast starting 9:00 P.M. tonight until 11:00 A.M. tomorrow. This test is to check if I have gestational diabetes.

According to WebMD website, OGTT is done to measure the body's ability to use a type of sugar, called glucose, that is the body's main source of energy. It is most commonly done to check for diabetes that occurs with pregnancy (called gestational diabetes).

All pregnant patients should be screened for gestational diabetes during their pregnancy. OGTT is generally given between the 24th and 28th week of pregnancy. I am 26 weeks on the way now so my OB-GYN scheduled me for the test. Surely, I will be starving after the screening. I should bring food to eat as soon as I am done with it.

A Life Changing Privilege

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of CryoCell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

Pregnancy is a woman's privilege. It is the amazing event in a woman's life. Knowing a tiny human being is breathing inside her body, life will never be the same again.

When I learned my pregnancy test was positive, I did not get a doctor's appointment right away. I did not had the chance because of my work schedule. But my first meeting with the OB-GYN was great. The doctor is very accommodating. She is checked everything from PAP Smear to drawing blood. I feel comfortable with her. Her staff gave me free vitamins, pregnancy journal/planner, and magazines.

Besides the pregnancy guide book that my sister-in-law gave me, I enjoyed reading the magazines. The pregnancy tips and advice as well as the guide on healthy eating is very interesting and helpful.

You know, there is one thing that intrigues me. Saving cord blood. Seems odd to me but I have read that cord blood stem cells can be used to treat diseases. Well, this is a good thing to find out. I do not have knowledge about this. The way to learn how this works is to read references or enroll to Cyro-Cell U-Cord service. And if you Enroll Today, you receive the award-winning Baby Jogger City Mini stroller. Since it is hard to find time to exercise and get back in shape after delivery, we, new moms can work out as we enjoy the outdoors with our new baby using this Baby Jogger City Mini Stroller. The stroller limited so there is still a chance for you to enroll online or by phone at 800-STOR-CELL. Isn't it an easy and interesting way to go back in shape after delivery?

My Feet Hurt So Bad

I called in again. My feet was throbbing in pain! I felt tortured. I couldn't stand and walk. And when I do put pressure on my feet, they throb painfully like they are gonna explode. I was crying early in the morning when I wake up to get something to eat. I was miserable! Whenever the pain surges, I tried my best not to break out because my baby is going to feel my pain. I was crying, "Ayoko na! Ayoko na! My feet hurt so much!"

Health Issues During Pregnancy

I am facing some health issues right now. There is an enlarged lymph node on my neck and it just came out suddenly. I had a cold and headache few weeks ago. After that, the lymph node became big. I had a biopsy Friday because my doctor said they had to examine it as soon as possible. They want to know what causes the enlargement so they can suggest a treatment since I am pregnant.

The biopsy result takes two weeks so I might receive a feedback by Friday or Monday of next week. I am praying that this is not very complicated.

My Feet And Legs Are Hurting

Arg! My feet and legs hurt. The arches and heels of my feet are sore. I almost couldn't walk when I wake up in the morning. Ugh! This is a suffering! Does it have to do with my pregnancy?

My doctor advised me to get an arch support to put in my work shoes, or buy a pair of work shoes that has arch and heel support and cushioned. Those type of shoes are expensive. My honey said I have to invest on comfortable shoes that suffer in cheap footwear that will hurt and ruin my feet.

Morning Sickness

It was a terrible weekend for me. I did not enjoy my weekend day off at all! Why? Morning sickness hit me Friday night and still feeling weird as of the moment. The worst was last night. I kept waking up running to the bathroom towards the sink. I was so emotional because there is nothing I could do about it. My honey's so worried. At 2 A. M. I called my mother back home, crying and telling her my situation. She said it is normal. It comes with pregnancy and most women get it. Then she started telling me her story while she was pregnant with me. She asked me to stop crying because it is not good for me and the baby.

My mother told me not to stay lying down. It will just make my blood circulate slow. I should go out in the sun every morning, even if I feel weird. Sunshine will give energy to my body and helps with blood circulation. That's what I did today. My honey and I went for a walk this morning around the apartment complex. I felt good after.

Right now, I am reading information on remedies to lessen morning sickness. But according to health experts, morning sickness will stop around the 12th week of pregnancy. Whaaat???

I Am In The Family Way

Well, we found it out in the evening of April 10th. I took a pregnancy test and it was accurate. My assumption was right. I am pregnant! Yes. My honey was there beside me as he saw the result. My monthly visitor was over a week late so we decided to get me a test.

What I have to do now is to find a health care professional (OB-Gyne) nearby so I can do my pregnancy check ups. We're both kinda nervous but we are waiting for this to happen. May God guide us always.

Oh No! Oh Yes!

Uh oh! Am I missing my monthly visitor this month? I said to myself I have to wait for two or three days to be sure. But it's been a week today.

According to woman's health experts, our menstruation cycles from 28-31 days. But it is not constant to all women. It differs according to the body system. My monthly cycle goes from 28-30 days depending on the month my monthly visitor falls. Now it is a week passed my cycle. If this thought I have in mind is true, now what am I gonna do? Oh no! Oh yes!

Healthy Food Tip For Pregnant Women

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of HealthyTuna.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

As I was thinking on my upcoming job review this month, I never thought the store inventory ended so soon. Store employees, including the managers, and volunteers, done a two overnight stock inventory this week. Every department had an assigned auditor for the inventory. But there are exemption to the task. Pregnant women employees and housekeepers too.

It is just right that pregnant women do not have to work odd hours on inventory. They need enough rest and relaxation after work. In addition to that, they need to eat healthy food during their pregnancy. Lots of fruits, vegetables, and meat are essential to baby's development and mother's body resistance. Eating seafood is very important too. Because plenty of nutrients can be found in fish and shellfish. A healthy tuna meal, for example, is one of the best food a pregnant woman should eat. Besides protein, the benefits of iodine are a big help to the body. One of these benefits is boosting babies brains to help them become quick learner as they grow.

There a many recipes for tuna fish. Our family's favorite is tuna salad. The main ingredients are lettuce, cooked potatoes (in cubes), tuna flakes in oil. For seasoning, a sprinkle of ground black pepper, mayonnaise, vinaigrette, and a little bit of salt. Oh that is so good! Anyway, I cannot wait to see my co-employees baby. Everybody at work adores her and waiting for the baby to arrive in this beautiful world.

Going back, I hope my co-employees feels better after the two overnight inventory job. Some of them came like a zombie this morning :)
