Lunch Date And Karaoke With Friends

Pink flowers.
I went to see some of my girl friends last week.  I didn't expect that it would be like a big luncheon.  My friend hosted a luncheon at her house.  She prepared a big pot of rice, baked spare ribs, vegetable soup with pork, and sauteed shrimp.  The food was delicious.  Our children were playing in the backyard, just having a great time like their mothers. :)

After lunch, my friend started the karaoke.  I haven't sang karaoke in a while.  It was like a concert in the middle of the afternoon. :)

We had so much fun.  I was glad to see my friends and had a good time together even in a simple party.

Weekend Snapshot: Valentines Party With Friends

Actually, this was an advance Valentine's Party me and my girl friends here in Texas have been planning.  Gladly the party was scheduled on a weekend it was well-attended this evening.  The food was awesome as usual, and the games were fun.

Balloons and Prizes

Guests brought their own dish-entrees and desserts

The party is not complete without hearts and flowers

I joined the game called "Balloon Popping".  It was supposed to be played by couples.  Since most of the girls did not have their husbands with them, including me, we just paired ourselves.  The balloon has to be popped using our tummies.  My partner and I only popped seven balloons and the winning pair did nine.

Double Celebration

My friend and I agreed to have a small get-together party in celebration of our birthdays this month.  The party was held at her house because her place has more room than mine. :)  Aside from eating delicious foods, we also enjoyed singing videoke.  My friends are great singers!

I am so pleased with the kind thoughts and well wishes my family, friends and blogging pals have sent me on my special day.  'Love you all!

Weekend Snapshot: Christmas Party 2011

Although it was raining heavily yesterday, the bad weather did not stop us from driving to Forney for the Christmas Party and Get-Together this year.  Friends from different parts of Dallas and surrounding cities came over to join the fun.  We had lots of food, games, talks, and laughs.  There was an exchange gifts for kids and grown-ups too.  There was dancing and non-stop chats.  Picture-taking was one of the highlights at the party.  I had a great time looking at the children having fun also.

My baby girl received a Pillow Pet toy from the exchange gifts.  She liked it very much.  I got an Angel Motif Candle Lamp.  Great for the occasion. We had a wonderful time at the party yesterday.  It was past 8 P.M. when we got home.

4th Of July Get-Together

It is going to be fun 4th of July celebration tomorrow.  BIL and his family will come over to shoot fireworks.  My cousin and her family will be visiting too.  Oh it is gonna be nice.  We will have barbeque for the get-together. It will be my cousin's first experience to shoot fireworks.  Mine was three years ago.  It's scary but the excitement is there.

Friends Meeting

I am excited about seeing my friends on Monday.  Gladly, my two girl friends got the same day off so they are able to schedule this meeting.  Hopefully the weather is pleasant next week. It will be our post-Mother's Day get-together.  Nice huh?  That would be fun, I bet.  Hoping for a wonderful travel too.

No Time To Charge The Battery

My honey and I went to a gathering last night. It is a Wesleyan group Bible study. Our friend J invited us because they hosted the gathering. We brought our baby girl with us. Everybody welcomed our baby.

Baby girl was so behaved. She looked around and gave smiles to whoever talks to her. And when the facilitator started to speak, our baby girl chattered once in a while. She thought that the man is talking to her and she talks back.

Before we head to our friend's house, I made some Adobo. While cooking, I put important baby stuff in the diaper bag. My honey asked if I have the camera. I said yes. To be sure, I checked if it's in my purse. But when I turned the camera on, it was low battery. Ugh! There's no time for charging. I had no choice but leave it behind and told my honey about the problem. He said, "I guess you need to buy extra digital camera batteries so you have reserves in times like this. Don't you think?"

"Is that a go signal?" I asked. I barely heard his response. Anyway, the girls at the Bible study were so amused seeing our baby. The compliments are highly appreciated.

A Day Of Fun And Laughter

Yesterday my cousin and I had a wonderful time with girl friends in Azle. It was one of the girls' birthday celebration. Three pregnant women were there including me. We had fun talking (catching up with one another), joking, and eating. Lots of pictures were taken and the food was good, especially the cake and some desserts. Woooh! My limitation on sweets went away (laughs).

It is about an hour and 20 minutes drive from Plano to Azle. But before we headed there, I had lunch at my cousin's place. I ate pork tocino and garlic rice. Boy, I love her garlic rice!

It was a pleasant day. The traffic was not too bad. I got home at 8:00 P.M.

They Are Coming Over And 'Could Not Think Of What To Cook

My cousin E is coming over to see us tomorrow. Their plan of driving to Fort Worth is because her husband T is buying something that the retailer can only be found here. After buying what they want, they are going to Fort Worth Zoo. My honey and I were there last month. I guess we have to let my cousin E and T enjoy their visit at the Zoo and the beautiful animals. She learned that Fort Worth Zoo is named one of the Top Zoo in America, again. And that is true.

Anyway, I could not think of something to cook for the couple tomorrow. Oh oh! My honey baked a chicken this evening. Maybe we can have some chicken sandwich and salad for lunch. Hhhmm...I do not know if they will like that. Well if new things come up, we might just have to eat in a restaurant somewhere.

Emelyn, Norie, and Marly

...at the apartment yesterday. My cousin Emelyn and her fiance arrived nearly 12 o'clock noon and I was in panic because the bitter melon and eggs were not cooked yet. The kitchen looked like it was hit by a storm. I thought they will be in town at one o'clock.

I called Norie telling her my cousin has arrived. She and her husband came over and met Emelyn. My cousin brought me some pasalubong (gifts) from the Philippines-two jeans, Efficasent oil (which I requested), dried mangoes, dried fish (danggit), and Otap from Cebu. After a great lunch, we talked about fun stuff. We enjoyed taking pictures too. Here is us-Emelyn (in pink), Norie (in gray), and me.
