Lunch Date And Karaoke With Friends

I went to see some of my girl friends last week.  I didn't expect that it would be like a big luncheon.  My friend hosted a luncheon at her house.  She prepared a big pot of rice, baked spare ribs, vegetable soup with pork, and sauteed shrimp.  The food was delicious.  Our children were playing in the backyard, just having a great time like their mothers. :)

After lunch, my friend started the karaoke.  I haven't sang karaoke in a while.  It was like a concert in the middle of the afternoon. :)

We had so much fun.  I was glad to see my friends and had a good time together even in a simple party.

My friend and neighbor had a simple birthday party at her house.  She had a yummy chocolate cake.  Everybody took a slice but of course we left a piece for our dear friend R.

Catching Up

My darling daughter and I went to see my friend and her daughters today.  DD kept asking when shall we go visit JJ and H.  She missed them a lot.  Well, today my friend wasn't very busy so we were able to visit them and had a great time catching up.

After a very nice lunch, my friend took me to her humble vegetable garden.  She harvested some tomatoes, long beans, bitter melon, and green leafy vegetables for me to take home.  What a sweet person.  Besides her humble attitude, I admire her for being such a good gardener.  She grows veggies very well.

DD and I went home happy and belly full.  :)  This weekend, I will try to plant some alugbati (vine spinach) in our vegetable garden.  I still have a small space that I need to fill in with other veggies.  Alugbati is a very nutritious vegetable.  Me and my family back home loves to put it in vegetable soup.

Weekend Snapshot: All Girls Photo With The Bluebonnets

Me, my cousin, and a friend of ours together with the kids went to town to have some pictorial in the Bluebonnet patch. It was an immediate plan and we didn't know if our friend would be available to join us today.  But we were glad that they made it.

It's clear and beautiful day but a little breezy.  We had fun taking pictures.  The girls love being outdoors and they're running and exploring.

It's kids' play time at my friend's house last Saturday.  My darling daughter was so happy to see my friend's daughters.  My friend prepared a delicious meal for lunch, and her Valentine's Day decorations were still up so it was like we're eating lunch at a restaurant because the table setting was so pretty!  And the red wine complimented the very tasty meal.

Halloween Costume Party - Pirates

We attended a Halloween Costume Party on November 1st and this year it was held at a friend's house in Royse City, Texas.  Huge gathering like this one has to be held in a bigger house because of the big crowd.

My darling daughter and I went to the party with rotisserie chicken.  We were in our pirate costumes.  I was able to come up with a costume theme this year.  I also volunteered to administer the games for kids. Oh the children had so much fun.  There's so many delicious food brought by the guests.  Of course, lots of picture-taking here and there.

 My friend decorated her party room very well.  Cob webs, spiders, pumpkins, and witches were all over the room.  It was a spooky party room.  After the kids' games, we got the dancing started.  It was a great party!

Party With Purple And Pink

Another baby shower party was held this weekend at a friend's house.  This time, I wasn't one of the hosts.  And again, it was a surprise Baby Shower Party.  We just love throwing parties like baby showers, birthdays, and special occasions such as Halloween and Bridals.  

Besides the accessibility, my friend's house has a bigger area for a gathering.  With the decoration prepared by our other girl friends, the house looks really pretty and welcoming.  I admire her because she is good with home decorating and gardening.  Whenever I get the chance, I ask her for some gardening ideas too.  In the Spring next year, hopefully, I will be able to maintain a garden with lots of blooms.

Anyway, here's some of the Baby Shower Party decor and activities.  The party's color theme is pink and purple.  So some of us were wearing pink clothes and others were wearing purple.

Of course, I had my picture taken with these well-arranged balloons by LP.

This is the winning ribbon that went around the waist of the mom-to-be.  Just about a quarter inch longer.  Three winners including me.

I think it says, "We are flowers of one garden."

Putting my quarter in the Baby Bear bank because I said one's real name.  It's for the "Don't Say My Name" game (our version of the "Don't Say Baby" game.

It was another successfully organized party.  Lots of food.  And we also met a new Filipina friend.

Weekend Snapshot: Surprise Baby Shower For E!

I highly appreciate my friend R for letting us hold my cousin's Baby Shower Party at her house.  Everyone brought a special dish.  The baby shower decor (party needs we bought from Dollar General) was provided by me and R.  Our other friend K took care of the games.  It was a surprise party because my cousin did not have any idea that it's for her.  She knew that we are gathering for R's special celebration for her son. When my cousin arrived at the party, we all yelled "Surprise!" as soon as she entered the house. 

The event was hosted by R, K, and me.  It was a wonderful party with lots of food and baby gifts.

Stress Affects Our Health

A friend of mine had a baby shower Sunday.  Although she's currently living in New York, she did not forget to sent us an invitation.  Aw, bless her heart.  This is going to be her first baby so every one in her family is very excited for baby's arrival.  The couple are getting ready for the new baby.

Health issues always concern my friend.  She worries too much.  I told her to take it easy and not to think about things that will stress her.  Her pregnancy will get affected and also her baby if she continues to keep all those worries in her mind.  There are good health care in New York.  My friend can find a good hospital to deliver her baby.  In fact, she can check on wehealny.org for hospitals nearby.  And just in case they move before their daughter comes out, she can also check for a health provider on the website.

I keep telling my friend that we are blessed because our husbands provide for the welfare of our families.  Plus, the insurance coverage for our health care is totally satisfying.  Nobody wants to have a health issue that causes bothersome.  So as a friendly advice, I told her not to stress out with nonsense.  Talking to someone always helps relieve stress.

Weekend Snapshot: A Gift From My Friend In Thailand

A friend sent me a holiday gift and I just got it in the mail from Thailand.  We have been friends online for years and she is so sweet to me.  I did not expect it but I surely appreciate her thoughtfulness.  Now I have an addition to my scarf collection.

Weekend Snapshot: Valentines Party With Friends

Actually, this was an advance Valentine's Party me and my girl friends here in Texas have been planning.  Gladly the party was scheduled on a weekend it was well-attended this evening.  The food was awesome as usual, and the games were fun.

I joined the game called "Balloon Popping".  It was supposed to be played by couples.  Since most of the girls did not have their husbands with them, including me, we just paired ourselves.  The balloon has to be popped using our tummies.  My partner and I only popped seven balloons and the winning pair did nine.

Great Time With Friends At The Party

I was glad to see friends today at the birthday party.  We had fun, as usual.  Though the hosts were very busy, they were accommodating and welcoming.  The birthday girl had many guests.  The children were playing happily while the adults talked, eat, and...talked.  Hahaha!

It was windy and humid.  And it was a little warm inside the hosts house.  Maybe because there are lots of people or the temperature of the air-conditioning was not set properly.  Anyhow, everybody had a great time catching up while eating delicious food prepared for the party.

The Flame Of Friendship And An Award

It is always nice to hear from friends.  Sharing the good news, talk about the bad makes you feel happy and sad.  But what's really good is that, keeping in touch still means something.  It is important in keeping the friendship flame burns brighter. 

My friend told me that her car window was fixed.  And I told her also about my car almost had a flat tire.  For about thirty minutes we talked about car problems.  'Glad that they're solved immediately, of course, with the help of the husbands.

Pre-wedding Party For Her

I had dinner with a new acquainted friend from PI this evening.  Actually, she invited me to the party.  It's a pre-wedding party for her and her sister-in-law.  She told me it is as Gumbo Party because her fiance is from Louisiana.  It is going to be a double wedding tomorrow!  I cannot go to the wedding though.  Conflict of schedule.

But before I head to the party, I drove by to my cousin's newly built house.  Her house is completely finished and, I guess, it needs to be cleaned then she and her family can move any time they want after the closing.  Oh I am so happy for my cousin.  She will be living close.

We'll Be Neighbors

 A friend from PI is arriving today here in Texas.  Actually, she will be flying with her kids. 

I met her in a social networking website recently.  Well, I met her husband first at WOF (The World Of Filipinas).  He said that they were in the middle of the application process (US Visa).  The approval took a while.  Maybe that's how it goes for Spouse Visa?  

Anyway, would you believe that we will become neighbors?  Her husband lives a couple of miles away from my house.  And my cousin of General Ideas, whose house is close to being finished, will be moving soon.  So three of us will be neighbors too.  My friend and her husband will have a wedding again this time here in the US.

A Year After

We went to FW to visit my husband's satellite office.   His co-employees want to see baby too, so we planned the trip well. After lunch, we drove to the office and mingled for a little while.  The secretary gave K a stuffed toy.  A little puppy.  Aw, that was so sweet.  After that, we drove to the store where I worked for more than a year.  And as promised, I came over to visit with baby.  Everybody adored my little girl. 

We spent did the traveling all afternoon.  On our way home, the traffic is not bad as we thought it would be on rush hours.  It was wonderful to see friends again.

Celebrating In Brazil

A dear friend is celebrating her birthday today.  Cheers to Masquerade's owner, SissyM! I wonder where the party is gonna be?  Hmm...I cannot go to Brazil.  Arg!

Friends Meeting

I am excited about seeing my friends on Monday.  Gladly, my two girl friends got the same day off so they are able to schedule this meeting.  Hopefully the weather is pleasant next week. It will be our post-Mother's Day get-together.  Nice huh?  That would be fun, I bet.  Hoping for a wonderful travel too.
