Sorrowful

Today is a very very sad day for my side of the family.  My grandpa passed away early this morning.  He got very ill.  He was admitted to the hospital Friday.  My mom said he had a fever, high blood pressure, and breathing difficulty.  The doctors placed an oxygen mask on him and, according to my mom, a monitoring device that beeps was placed on one of grandpa's fingertips.  I believe it was a pulse oximeter.  

We will miss him so much.  Grandpa was 85 years old.

Three Hours! Imagine?

What a long wait at the doctor's office yesterday afternoon. Three hours! Imagine? Who would be patient to wait that long? Me. Because I do not want to come back for another appointment except in the next month. I ate all the snacks I brought with me. Still, 'not called.

I had another appointment that afternoon so I went to the front desk and told the staff about my situation. After ten minutes, I was called to see the doctor. Then another 10 minutes, I was called to take my medicine.

Anyway, glad everything went well with the consultation. I am gaining weight and the medication dosage was lowered. That's good. But the therapy continues for eighteen weeks.

Be Sure Your Elders Are Secured

It is good to know that my mother convinced her father not to live in his house at the farm but to stay with the family instead. He has no decent home there...no more. What scares us is that, there is nobody who can look after him if something happened like if his hypertension attacks? That is going to be difficult for him to ask for help. His house does not have any life alert device installed.

My grandfather agreed to stay with my family back home now. My parents can attend to him and help him on emergency. If emergency happens, life alert detectors are just close by. It would be very convenient for my grandfather to visit his brother and sister who lives in the neighborhood. I can tell that my grandpa is happy to be with the family especially with his grand kids.

To Be Beautiful Is A Woman's Choice

Confidence is gained naturally. If a woman is happy with everything she has in her life, there is no question contentment can be achieved.

But we have the freedom of choice. The woman of today is independent and enjoys the privilege of being feminine. An example is the choice of engaging herself with cosmetic surgery. There are women who want to look more beautiful, more voluptuous, and more amazing by reducing a little piece of the body parts. Breast reduction is one of their options. I know the idea is somewhat intimidating to others but some celebrities are doing this. I watched a television show where they featured a celebrity who had done a couple of cosmetic surgeries. The result was amazing though. And it takes a competent and reputable surgical center to do it better.

Stay Away From The Flu

Oh no! Two the girls at work are having flu right now. One started to sneeze and cough with scratchy voice since Wednesday. The other was not feeling well either since last week. Her doctor said she has the flu. Oh no!

I hope I will not get it. My honey asked me if I am taking my vitamins. I said...yes (with hesitation). I am drinking fruit juices and lots of water now. At work, we sanitize the workplace especially the things we have hand contact on like the telephone, calculators, and other non-consumable office supplies. We are doing the best we can to get rid of the virus that way. Being sick is difficult. The best thing to do now is to get your flu shots done as soon as possible. Always remember, prevention is better than cure.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Finally my hearing is back to normal. I had to see the doctor yesterday because I my ear was clogged for a week. I was so worried. Then yesterday was a relief.

Before my ear was checked, the doctor asked a lot of questions regarding my medical history. She checked my blood pressure (BP), pulse rate, and body temperature. As of yesterday, December 8, 2008, my BP is 108/70 and my body temperature was 83. Seven months ago my BP was 110/80. The doctor said it is normal. As the doctor went over to my answers, she said my family and I are healthy. After that she started looking inside my right ear. Then everything was set for the cleaning. The doctor used warm water with peroxide and squirted using a syringe for a couple of times inside my ears until my ears were cleansed. I was so tickled during the whole process. But the result was a relief. I can hear the noise around me pretty clearly. A prescription of ear drops was given to me to apply within 3-5 days after irrigation to clean and reduce the swelling of the ears.
