Weekend Snapshot: My Christmas Tree Is Up

It's December once again my dear friends.  There is no denying that the Christmas cheer is in the air.  As early as August, I have seen some stores displaying Holiday decorations already.  So jealous because I have been wanting to buy Christmas decorations early but I have to wait until after Thanksgiving.

Anyway, as soon as we arrived home from our traveling on Thanksgiving, we put our Christmas tree up and decorated it.  So here's our Christmas tree this year. Ain't it lovely?

Weekend Snapshots: Christmas Wreaths

My custom-made Christmas wreath from last year.

Christmas wreath I saw at a garage sale.
The Holidays are fast approaching and I cannot wait to put our Christmas decorations up.  But I cannot start until after Thanksgiving Day.  I am shopping for new Christmas tree ornaments.  My daughter and I are planning to change the color theme for the tree this year.  And, maybe, we will buy a new tree next month.

For the front door Holiday decor, I saw this red wreath at a garage sale.  I thought of buying it but I recalled I have my own Christmas wreath in the attic.  I will just hang it again next month.  Although red is my favorite color, I will just stick to my own wreath.  I think mine is prettier. :) Don't you think?

And So Our Christmas Tree Is Up!

Hello everyone!  It's December 1 and my family is helping me decorate the house for the Holidays.  See how my little one put the Christmas balls?  She was very excited about this decorating thing soon as I told her that we are putting up our Christmas tree this year.  And so, our Christmas tree is up!

She's my little helper.  :)
Under the tree with her buddy bunny.
I have to make a wreath for the front door.  My daughter and I will go to Hobby Lobby maybe this weekend.  And I still have to look for nice Christmas decorating ideas.

Twinkling Lights Of Christmas

Guest post written by Marty Ford

It doesn't officially feel like it's the Christmas season until our whole family is standing in our front yard and watching me flip the switch to turn on all of our Christmas lights. My wife always makes the joke that it's like the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation where Chevy Chase flips the switch and knocks out power to the rest of the town. Well that doesn't happen, but I do like to make sure that my family gets to see all of my hard work's result.

I was online a few weeks ago, ordering some of the last Christmas lights for our house, when I came across some DIRECT TV INTERNET BUNDLE specials, read a little more about them and signed our family up for one of them.

I'm especially excited about some new Christmas lights decorations that I put up this year, like a huge inflatable snow globe in the shape of a snowman that has fake snow blowing inside of it. It looks so neat! I have a spotlight on it so that you can see it at night even better, although it lights up itself.

Traditional Christmas Flower

Did You Know...

Today poinsettias are the most popular Christmas plant and are the number one flowering potted plant in the United States.

The poinsettia, a traditional Christmas flower, originally grew in Mexico, where it is also know as the 'Flower of the Holy Night'. Joel Poinsett first brought it to America in 1829.

Early Display Of Christmas Decor

After my first doctor's appointment in Collin County Health Care Center, I winded up visiting the The Village Shopping Center in Fairview. Using the gadget I got from a girl friend, I was able to drive around the area.

The department stores are a couple hundred feet away from each other. No main shopping mall that connects a store to another. But I like how the shopping center looks though.

When I was about to leave the department store I visited, I saw that the store already has Christmas decor on display. Wow! Makes me feel excited for the holidays to come.

Christmas Decor And Ornaments

My decor was from a garage sale in summer of last year. Our tree was bought from Walmart, which we found very affordable. I really do not have a color theme for my Christmas tree. Whatever decor is available in the house, I am using it. The tree has colored Christmas light so ornaments with different styles and colors can go with it.

In addition to the balls and assorted ornaments, I also have two large balls from work. The first one is from last year. It is navy blue and has two turtle doves on it. The second ball is white and has three french hens. I guess I missed the first ball with a partridge on it two years ago. Anyway, I hope to serve more years in the company so I can still collect the eleven balls of the Twelve Days Of Christmas.
