Christmas Cactus In Bloom

 

 

l am very glad to share with you all that my Christmas cactus is blooming.  I didn't know until I was watering my indoor pants this morning.  It is really delightful to see our plants giving us some blooms.  I've been waiting for this to happen for a year.  :D

 

 I bought this indoor plant from Walmart for $3.  This was actually a "rescue plant" (on clearance).  So far, it is surviving in my house. Hopefully, it will make more flowers...lots and lots of them.  :)

Day 4/5 - Gratitude Challenge

Today I am thankful:

1.  for a beautiful morning.  My cousin brought some yummy food and a pretty house plant.  It is called a spider plant.

2.  for coffee.  And I am always thankful to the one who discovered it and how it helps to relax me.  :)

3.  that it is pay day again.  Big or small, it is still one of the things to be thankful for.  Some people are struggling to find a job.  I am happy that I was given this opportunity to work again even if it is only a part time job.

A Very Lovely Surprise From My Cousin

An orchid plant.

I was very surprised one day my cousin came over to give me this lovely orchid plant.  From our previous get-together we talked about getting an orchid.  We love how beautiful their flowers are and caring for them is easy.

It was a nice surprise for me.  I put the orchid on the entry way table by the front door.  And it is looking very pretty.  I truly appreciate my cousin for this special gift.

Needs Recovery From Wilting

The sample from MiracleGro Expand 'n Gro has arrived.  I cannot wait to use it for the plant by the front door.  You see it looks unhappy. :(  I feel bad about it.  Hopefully this sample will be able to recover it from wilting.  It was my mother-in-law's 'welcome back' gift when we moved back to our house.  My father-in-Iaw said the plant needs re-potting so we will do that and mix the Expand 'n Gro in the potting soil I bought from Walmart this afternoon.  I don't want to lose this plant.  It looks really pretty when fully bloomed.

Weekend Snapshot: Is My Plant Ill?

Look at my plant, is it withering or hibernating? I have this for almost two years now but I've never seen my Amaryllis like this before. Since the winter started, my plant looked very ill. I am feeling sad right now. 'Watered it and put some plant food in the soil. If my Amaryllis is just hibernating, I hope it will bloom flowers in the Spring.

Planters For House Plants

It was pretty stormy this afternoon. There was lightning, thunder, and heavy rains. I thought the internet connection will be cut off because of the bad weather but luckily, it did not.

The rain brought a lot of water on the grounds. The plants were happy. I wish I had a couple of house plants besides Amaryllis and Ivy. But hey, I forgot to tell you that my associate at work gave me three mini tomato plants. They are placed in small garden planters because they are still young and tiny. They need a lot of care right now. I will transfer them to an outdoor planter when they grow bigger.

The back porch at the apartment catches shower of rains pretty good so my plants get rainwater once in a while. Sometime before Summer, I will get a bigger planter for my Amaryllis too.
