Weekend Snapshot: Hubby's Birthday Cards

Happy birthday to my dear husband. He's a half century old like he said. :) He's so funny.  He told me ahead of time that he doesn't want to have a party on his birthday.  So we just had dinner at Big Daddy's Barbeque Restaurant located in Lavon (Texas).  We haven't been there in a while.  I remember the last time we ate there, my darling daughter liked the place.

As for the birthday gifts, I couldn't think of something but a gift card.  And that's what he got as usual.

Greeting Card Received

I just talked to my aunt two days ago and she said she sent a greeting card for my dad's birthday.  She was asking me if he already got the card.  When I chatted with my youngest sister on Facebook this afternoon, she said that my dad received the birthday greeting card a week ago.  Well, he does not have an access to the Internet.  My sister is the one who conveys messages to our aunt.  

My long lost aunt lives in New York right now.  We haven't seen her and her family for so many years until recently.   Thanks to social networking.  Her daughter just moved two months ago that is why my aunt is kind of busy helping her in the new house.  Also the reason that her time online is limited.  I know how difficult moving is especially if the new place is farther away.  When my husband and I moved to an apartment for a job-related reason, I just arrived here in the US and still in the process of relieving the jet lag.  When we arrived to the new place, it's clean and ready for occupancy.  The bedrooms are all carpeted.  My husband told me that the apartment admin is responsible to contact cleaners like expert carpet cleaning nyc to fully clean and sanitize the carpets, and if necessary replace the carpeting.

I understand my aunt's limited time on the Internet right now.  I wish my cousin all the best with her new home.  And my father is happy that his sister did not forget to send him greetings on his birthday.

Tatay Turns 60!

It's my Tatay's birthday today.  He is 60 years old.  We are thankful that he is keeping himself healthy.  My family back home had a small birthday party for Tatay.  My mother prepared a few dish for the party.  My siblings contributed some amount of money for the cake and softdrinks. 

My tatay  was very delighted to receive his birthday gift.  A bottle of Polo Ralph Lauren men's cologne.  "I've been wishing for this.  I haven't smelled this fragrance for years until today", he said.  It's his favorite cologne.  Good.  'Glad he likes it.

Sister's Debut

"Happy 18th Birthday to my baby sister today!  You have grown into a young lady now.  We are wishing you the best of everything.  God bless you."

My baby sister turns eighteen years of age today.  Whoa!  Seems like yesterday and, oh how time flies so fast.  She is the tallest among the four of us, man.  Well that is what afternoon naps can do, I believe.

Her birthday celebration will be next weekend because this week is their examination week in school.  We planned for the dinner party for two weeks now.  The party is going to be held at a resort hotel in Ormoc City.  I hope everything will turn out fine.  She is very excited and anxious about this.  The function room and hotel accommodations are finalized already.  She and the family invited most of the guests personally.  The souvenirs are on their way.  We still need to work on some few things this week.  After that, we are all set for the dinner party.

Celebrating In Brazil

A dear friend is celebrating her birthday today.  Cheers to Masquerade's owner, SissyM! I wonder where the party is gonna be?  Hmm...I cannot go to Brazil.  Arg!

It Would Be Fun

It is my friend N's birthday! Yay! I bet she got the day off for her birthday. Good for her. I bought a present for her. It is a DKNY shirt. I like the color and fabric. Surely it will look nice in the Spring and Summer.

My birthday is coming too (on January 29). I do not know if N and I can hang out and celebrate our birthdays this weekend. Last year we went to Downtown Fort Worth and sang karaoke in one of the restaurant bars at Sundance Square. 'Have not called and asked her yet. That would be lots of fun if we can hang out again. In the meantime, my gift for her will stay with me until she is off any time this week.

A Birthday Gift From His Favorite Gift Wrapper

A gift to my honey's birthday. Wrapped in a multicolored gift wrapping paper is a Roundtree and York knit shirt. He loves shirts with collars but he is picky when it comes to the fabric. This one is made from organic cotton. Though he does not like the sound of it, he likes the shirt :)

I chose to wrap the gift in a multicolored paper because it looks pretty and cute. I wanted him to smile when gets his present. And he did. He loves it, of course. I am his favorite gift wrapper :)

Birthday Greetings to My Brother Jhun!

It is my brother's birthday. I am so happy he is now 25 years old. Though we didn't spend much time during his growing up, I can say that he is a good boy. Sometimes he likes to annoy us but it is normal between siblings. Jhun is the proud father of the cute baby boy, Russel, I featured here in my blog. My brother is active in his favorite sports, basketball.
