We Have Found What We've Been Looking For - Subaru Outback SUV

Well what do you know? Dear husband found the SUV that he's been shopping around online for.  It has the color and the features that we've been looking for.  Guess where he found it? It's in Oklahoma City. :)

Call us crazy but we drove up to Oklahoma City from Dallas this weekend to look and buy it.  We talked about this and our decision was final. We drove up there and bought the Subaru Outback SUV (pre-owned). We traded our Hyundai Elantra and finance the balance.  Our credit score came out to be in excellent standing so the interest rate is very low.

It was a one-day eight-hour trip to and from Oklahoma City on a rainy day weekend, and coming home with a newly-bought pre-owned Subaru Outback SUV.

Shopping For A Sport Utility Van (SUV)

Hello everyone! It is March already. How's your weekend been? Mine? I had a great weekend.  My family and I went to the Subaru dealer in McKinney to check a Subaru Forester we saw on their website on Friday. Unfortunately, it was not there anymore Saturday.  It has been sold already. :( Oh well.  We just have to wait for the right time and the right price for us to get a new vehicle.

Our sedan needs to be replaced by an SUV soon. So we are looking for the perfect SUV for the family.  We love traveling and we bring lots of stuff with us whenever we go on vacation. So an SUV would be awesome and we are eyeing for a Subaru SUV right now.

Fun Activities and Things To Do at Beaver's Bend State Park Broken Bow Oklahoma

We spent a few days in Broken Bow, Oklahoma during the Spring Break.  My darling daughter liked to go back to the Beaver's Bend State Park. It's a very relaxing place with lots of things to do.

K was looking forward to see lots of deer again. And we did. We also went hiking and night walking (we called it - night investigation). Then we rode the train at the train depot inside the park. We weren't able to ride the horses this time because the tickets were sold out due to prior reservations.  There were a lot of campers as well. My husband and I were talking about camping at Beaver's Bend State Park in a couple of years.  Aside from fishing, camping is one of main thing to do at Beaver's Bend park. If you enjoy camping, this is the place to go.

Another fun thing to do is boating on the lake. The Broken Bow Lake is huge that visitors to the park can enjoy boating, jet skiing, and even swimming (only in swimming areas in the summer).  Just being near the water brings you peace and serenity.

We cannot wait to go back and ride the horses next time we visit Beaver's Bend State Park.

Weekend Snapshots: Queen's Tea Party At The Rose Festival

It was a very pleasant day this past weekend and my daughter and I visited the folks in Tyler.  My little one was very happy to see her grandparents, as usual.

My mother-in-law informed me ahead of time that the annual Rose Festival is on going that weekend. I haven't seen the Rose Festival in Tyler since I got here in Texas.  That Saturday's event was the Rose Queen's Tea party.  The Rose Queen 2014 and her court were gathered at the Rose Garden to meet and greet the public.  So only the three of us went - mom, DD, and me.

There's tea served on one table.  Bottled water and cookies on the other ones.  The cookies tasted really good.  Mom said that the Rose Festival theme varies every year.  This year's is circus theme.  So all the extravagant gowns are designed with the circus inspired in them.

I was in awe with the Rose Queen's and the duchesses' gowns.  They were all creatively designed and made.  I bet those gowns were extremely expensive.

The train of the Rose Queen's gown hung and displayed in the garden at the Queen's Tea party.

Comfort In The Perfect Footwear

I love it when I have time for myself - to travel, unwind, and to shop.  Me time is very important to me. I thank my husband and appreciate his understanding and thoughtfulness on stuff like that.  It makes me feel very secure with our relationship.

As I was saying, I love leisure time.  Traveling and shopping are good combination to me. :)   I like going to the parks and botanical gardens.  I enjoy looking around and these places are relaxing.  Feeling the cool breeze makes you feel good inside.

When going out on a hot summer day, cool and comfortable clothes are recommended to wear.  Light colored clothing is best.  Summer dresses, cotton shirts and pants are great example of these clothing.  Of course, the outfit won't be complete without the perfect footwear.  I prefer wearing flat comfortable shoes made with high quality leather or fabric because they make walking easy and comfortable.

And every time my family and I go out of town, or even just going out to run errands, I wear my flat shoes because I couldn't stand walking on heels for a long time.  I recommend wearing comfort flat shoes because they won't strain your feet while you're out and about like me.

My Friend's New House

Our family visited friends in Fort Worth today.  After an enjoyable ride on the train at Trinity Park and fun at the Zoo, we head on for a get-together dinner at my girl friend's house.  She and her husband bought a new house in town and we saw it for the first time.  I was very happy to see my friends again.

It's a two-storey house with five bedrooms.  Yes it is huge and beautiful!  Her father-in-law already moved here in Texas and is living with them now.  Because of his age, the couple had a stairlift installed on the stairs.  It's a very helpful equipment for elderly especially for those with disabilities.

It was really nice to see my darling daughter loves being with the girls.  They missed her.  :)  They went up and down the stairs.  She even rode the stairlift and wanted to go some more.  Hahaha!

The Trip To Galveston

Though summer is the hot season, it is still my favorite season of the year (next to spring). Swimming, traveling, and eating are some of my favorite things to do in the summer (chuckles). I see to it that we travel at least once this season.

Recently, we went to Galveston, my mother-in-law's hometown. It was my first time in the island. Bad timing because we did not know there's a storm coming. Despite of the bad weather, my honey and I enjoyed walking along the beach. We even fed the seagulls. It was fun! We ate in the seafood restaurant and shopped at The Strand Downtown Galveston.

We stayed in a beach house my parents-in-law rented for a week. The beach house is located west of Jamaica Beach.

The bad weather did not allow us to swim because of the waves. But others enjoyed playing with the waves and the sand. Two weeks after we got back from Galveston, we had a swimming date by the pool at the apartment.

International Travel And Tours Experience

Seems like it was yesterday when my honey and I had a vacation back home. The enjoyable family reunion is still fresh in my mind. We had a wonderful time with my family back home.

I met my friends and former office mates too. One of my girl friends just arrived from her trip to Europe. She was very happy to see me and met my husband at the same time. We talked a lot of things including her traveling. She said she had a very nice tour to Spain. The country is beautiful and she saw things that are similar to the Philippines'. Philippines has Spanish influence you know. My friend's traveling was very memorable for her because that was the first time she had a rental car. Car Hire Spain gave her the chance to explore the cities of the country that she find interesting. Besides getting a good rate on car rental, she was given the opportunity to drive the first class cars offered by the car hire company.

It feels great to have sharing of experiences like that. In that way, we get familiar with places that we might want to visit in the future.

Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love

The buying and preparation of gifts (pasalubong) to family and friends are starting now. As in now. Though we just sent a package few weeks ago, my honey want to get something special for my family.

Our travel date is fixed and final. All we need to do now is to confirm all hotel reservations in Cebu, Leyte, and Manila. My time on the Internet may be limited but I will still do my jobs. Keeping in touch with you guys is one of those.

We went to Ridgemar Mall yesterday. My honey bought some fragrances in a department store. I told him to do it online but he wants to smell the perfumes personally. That is fine. I love going to the mall anyway. My youngest sister will be very delighted with what my honey bought for her. It is Jessica Simpson's new scent called Fancy Love. It has a sweet smell and just suited for a teenager like my sister. I think we got all the women in the family covered with the perfumes, but he wants to buy some more...just in case.

Can You Tell Your Future?

There is a time in silence I get the chance to reminisce the fun moments my two friends (from work) and I did back home. We attended parties, participated in school activities, and joined night swimming with other colleagues. Another thing, we tried going to love fortune teller. I found out that my friends had been having their love tarot reading and they wanted me to come with them to know what mine reads. The fortune teller does love psychic reading too.

I remembered the love fortune teller told me that I will be married to a man from far away, and I will experience far travels in my life. It sounded all positive readings to me. I realized that the love tarot reading came true. I married a wonderful foreign man. And traveling is a part of my lifestyle now. I feel grateful.

How about my friends'? I am just wondering how is it going with them right now.

Traveling Requires Money

Agh! Some stores online are having their Spring sale going on right now. I am overwhelmed with the low prices of the merchandise that I like. I am trying to control myself from shopping because there is something more important in my mind. What is it? Travel. Yes. I have to super save for traveling requires a lot of money.

You never know what might come up with plane tickets and accommodation. I will do some scouting before I commit to a travel agent. I hope to get a desirable yet very affordable travel deal this year.
