My Friend's New House
Our family visited friends in Fort Worth today. After an enjoyable ride on the train at Trinity Park and fun at the Zoo, we head on for a get-together dinner at my girl friend's house. She and her husband bought a new house in town and we saw it for the first time. I was very happy to see my friends again.
It's a two-storey house with five bedrooms. Yes it is huge and beautiful! Her father-in-law already moved here in Texas and is living with them now. Because of his age, the couple had a stairlift installed on the stairs. It's a very helpful equipment for elderly especially for those with disabilities.
It was really nice to see my darling daughter loves being with the girls. They missed her. :) They went up and down the stairs. She even rode the stairlift and wanted to go some more. Hahaha!

Video Transfer Resource
Since our move back to the house, some of our stuff are still disorganized. We have clutters everywhere...still. I could not even find the blank CDs and DVDs. As far as I can remember, we have plenty of them in the box somewhere.
There are many important events that we have had recorded in a video for my family back home. There are also pictures stored in our video camera. What I need now is DVD duplicators so, if we transfer the videos to DVD, we will have our own copy too. And if we want to have copies of the pictures, it would be easy to do it in CD printers.
For now, I have to look for DVD duplication guide for some ideas and shopping resources.

Redoing The Living Room
My honey and I participated on a garage sale one weekend and we found it interesting yet boring. Interesting because we got to sell old stuff and things we do not use in the house. Boring because not many visitors came to check on what we had. But we sold a few things though.
My cousin and her husband came over the next day. We walked around the neighborhood checking what other household had for garage sale. We stopped at this house with a bunch of stuff in the garage. The woman had pieces of household equipment and nursery furniture. My cousin asked why she wanted to sell the ceiling fan. "I am redoing my living room and I am looking at Victorian ceiling fans right now", she answered excitedly. "We were using that ceiling fan for years. Belt driven ceiling fans are nice though", she added.
The price for the ceiling fan was really really cheap. But there's no way, in our situation, my cousin and I can accommodate that in our homes. Going to a garage sale is fun. My cousin had a great time with us too.

The importance of being safe all the time means so much to us. Living in a peaceful neighborhood is good. But keeping our home and household safe with the help of home alarm equipment is better. Fast Food Job Experience
When I was working in a small fast food somewhere in Quezon City (Philippines), my work schedule was like a punishment. Would you believe I worked in a 6 to 6 schedule or 12 hours a day? That was a whack! My major task was serving food and wiping chairs and tables.
Anyway, the most disgusting problem in that fast food was flies. There were flies everywhere. The management had to buy fly lights to be placed in the four corners of the dining area. And you know what, the fly control solutions like the fly lights were very effective. They are highly recommended for open fast food operations on the streets even for fly control around homes and restaurants too.
Don't you hate flies?

Online Customer Support Is Available
It was Spring last year when we moved here in the apartment. Everything was organized smoothly even though we have to drive 1 1/2 hours bringing almost all of our belongings and appliance from the house in Nevada (Texas). We were glad that our unit has laundry washer and drier connection.
One time I encountered an unusual problem with the washer. Suddenly, it stopped operating in the middle of the wash. I was so worried because I have no idea what was going on. So I called my honey at work and told him what happened. He told me to check the manual about it. I looked for the washer's manual but I could not find it. It was very disappointing because time was consumed looking for that manual. I was so helpless. After an hour of searching, I found the user's manual at the bottom of the other reads and manuals. I read the troubleshooting pages but I did not find the specific reason why the washer stopped suddenly. Looking on the Internet did not come into my mind so I dug through our piles of booklets and papers.
Then my honey called telling me maybe the washer overheated (I loaded three batches of large quantities of laundry) since it was a very hot day. Plus, I loaded the whites and had set the washer in hot water. That maybe the reason. Whatever it was, it is very good to have a user's manual ready at any time. Any appliance or equipment needs to have an assistance ready even if is just a troubleshooting or minor repairs like coffeemaker, electric fan, and mosquito magnet repair. Those are only small matters but needs attention once in a while. This is how online customer assistance help us in quick troubleshooting or repair on our priced appliance and home equipment.

The Memories Of Ironing
Since the day I arrived here in the USA today is the first day I do some ironing. If I will make a listing of household chores, ironing will be at the bottom of my list. But I like doing it though. As long as the power cooperates and the iron gets hot, it is fine with me.
When I was a child, I remember my mother washes the sheets, pillow cases, blankets and precious cotton dresses with starch. She said the starch helps maintain the cloth's original texture and density. And when she was ironing them the fabric is smooth and thick. She used a flat iron made of metal (from my grandmother) with glowing coal inside because we have not had an electric iron in the province before. Using the old flat iron is not convenient enough at that time because controlling the temperature is difficult. And when we got our first electric flat iron, everything was easy. I am not sure if some of my relatives use the metal flat iron nowadays.
Oh well, I should better finish my ironing now. I just paused for a while to eat lunch.
