My Friend's New House

Our family visited friends in Fort Worth today.  After an enjoyable ride on the train at Trinity Park and fun at the Zoo, we head on for a get-together dinner at my girl friend's house.  She and her husband bought a new house in town and we saw it for the first time.  I was very happy to see my friends again.  

It's a two-storey house with five bedrooms.  Yes it is huge and beautiful!  Her father-in-law already moved here in Texas and is living with them now.  Because of his age, the couple had a stairlift installed on the stairs.  It's a very helpful equipment for elderly especially for those with disabilities.  

It was really nice to see my darling daughter loves being with the girls.  They missed her.  :)  They went up and down the stairs.  She even rode the stairlift and wanted to go some more.  Hahaha!

It Feels Good To Have A Home To Call Your Own

When looking for home building ideas, it is best to refer to a reliable builder and ask for a portfolio.  Once you picked the home style that you are interested in, you can start negotiating.  Building a new home is difficult if you do not know where to live or if you don't feel good with the area.  

Home building materials are getting more and more expensive.  That is why up to now, my parents don't have a house of their own because we still keep on looking for a better area where to settle in case my husband wants to retire soon.  We receive offers from homeowners back home selling house and lot for an average price.  But our concern is that, the location are a bit far from the town proper.  Still we are optimistic that good timing will come to us very soon for the right home.

I already have a dream home pictured in my mind for my parents.  They do not want a huge house.  Just a good size for two-bedroom home.  I want it to be like a one-storey house with a garage and a front porch.  It would be nice if stainless steel railing systems would be installed.  I can imagine how nice the front porch would look with it.  With God's grace, my dream will come true.  

It feels really nice to have a home to call your own.  Patience is a virtue.

Putting Into Reality

All right, though it is a couple of weeks before the year ends, the plan to repaint and redecorate the house will be put into reality soon.  Actually, my honey has started repainting the dining ceiling for now.  After the holidays and birthday party of my daughter the busy new year starts.

It has been three years and our house needs to be retouched.  I am going to put curtains in the bedrooms.  Then I will be rearranging some of the furniture, if possible.  The master bathroom looks appealing to me but the guest room needs remodeling.  I know it will take time and surely money too, I think.  But I would like my guest bathroom to look like our master's bath.

Be Proud Of Your Home

The longer we live in our house, the possibility of wear and tear is undeniable.  But if you are very good in maintaining your home from the inside and out, it will likely to stay and look as new for years. Not only we take pride of good looking homes, we are also proud of how we manage to beautify it in accordance to its design.  Most women love to spend most of their time decorating the bedroom, some women like the living room, and others adore the kitchen.  I like messing around in the kitchen.  Are you among us?  What part of the house you spend the most of your time decorating?

Home Decorating Soon

My cousin and her family has moved in their new home already.  I am happy that everything went well.  She is going to be very busy.  Besides unpacking boxes full of stuff, my cousin will be decorating her house very soon.  They are only about 10 minutes away from my house.  That is very nice we will be like neighbors. 

Decorating a home is not an easy task.  In my opinion, you have to consider the house's interior colors so you can decide what decor to buy and place in each area.  My family and I are back in our home for almost a year now but I have not even started putting curtains yet.  Shame on me!  I am the woman of the house so I should have ideas on how to decorate a home.

I will be a hypocrite if I do not care about having a nice house. Who doesn't want to have a beautiful house? a dream home?

My family and I don't have a house of our own. We rented a room when I was young. I shared a bed with my siblings...even when I was growing up. It's difficult because we do not have our privacy. I've been dreaming that someday we will be living in our own home-with a living room, separate bedrooms and bathrooms.

Will Light The Fireplace

My honey is really happy to be back in his house. He still can't get over it. He never liked living in an apartment. But we had to relocate because of job-related matter. Now that we are back to the house, we have all the time in the world to make everything great, like preparing the room for the baby and the yard for gardening next year.

As of the moment, we are busy with organizing and cleaning. My honey checked everything in the house including the fireplace. The glass cover and the inside is clean. He wants to buy Gas Logs to use in the winter. It is nice to have the fireplace lit up in the winter nights. It adds a real feel of home. He prefers R. H. Peterson Real Fyre Gas Logs because of the good quality. He likes Vented Gas Logs better because they burn realistically.

Will Enjoy Her Home

Tonight is the last night of sleeping here in the apartment. We are leaving tomorrow. We are moving back to the house. The house that my honey and I missed so much.

And beginning tomorrow, my honey and I will be living there together with our baby girl. We are a family now. It is so nice be back at the house again. Everything went well as planned. Our little girl will surely enjoy her home.

Building A House Soon

I am very excited about my cousin's and her husband's plan to build a house. It is great because the location they want to build it is close to ours. She also wants her house built a few miles close to the lake.

They are in the process of looking for a reputable builder so they can work on the house plan. Construction wise, my cousin likes her kitchen and bathroom to be in tiles. She wants her house to look beautiful especially the kitchen. I think subway tiles is great in the kitchen. They might be interested to check the Glass Tiles store for various selection of tiles for the house.

Stainless Home Furnishing

What makes a home pleasant is its well-organized home furnishings. If the house is well-furnished and maintained properly, there is no doubt the people living in it feel comfortable and safe. That is what I want in my house...well-furnished.

Actually, I have almost all I want in my home. The kitchen has a built-in microwave oven and white dishwasher. We got a glass kitchen table and blomus stainless steel teaset to match it. The living room is carpeted with a blomus stainless steel fireplace set. I love decorating my living room. What we are planning now is to get a blomus stainless steel firepit to place at the back porch in preparation for the next winter.

Bills And Repairs

Bills, bills, bills. This is the time of every month when high amount of household bills are prepared for payment. Agh.

Now there is a huge house repair coming. One of the vent pipe on the roof of the house (leased) is leaking. The renters called Saturday morning (when it was raining heavy) and said there was a leak in the ceiling. My honey did not expect that there is something wrong with the vent pipe. He will call the builder tomorrow about the repair. We do not have idea how much would be the repair cost. Ah, life.

Window Coverings

My parents are currently having the parts of the house reconstructed. Two of them are the kitchen and my sister's room. Letting you know, the kitchen was damaged due to a fallen tree branch from the storm last year. My sister's room is small so she needs more room for her personal stuff.

The sink in the kitchen faces the South and on top of it is a small window. My mother wants to put the next day blinds to make the kitchen look more cozy. On the other hand, my sister's room will have a simple, girly touch to it since the next day blinds have feminine shades for window coverings. Her room's window is facing the North so it just needs a lighter shade.

I hope everything will work as planned.

Check Your Mailbox

Before our house was leased, we go there on weekends to check everything. And the mailbox is the first place we check when we arrive. We were still receiving mails even if they were only advertisement and promotions.

I Miss Our House

I miss our house. Would you believe that I only lived there for a week?

I arrived here in Texas on a Saturday of February. Then we moved to Fort Worth the next Saturday. My honey got a new job here and he was given the relocation benefits. So the house was empty for a couple of months. It was crazy that time. I was in my jetlag period then a tough week came. We were thankful things went well for us last year. Now our house is currently on lease.

I cannot help missing our beautiful home, the backyard with trees, and the squirrel we were used to fed.

Back To House Hunting

Before our house was rented, my honey and I drive to towns nearby on weekends during the summer to look for houses. He likes to do that since we settled here in the city. We stopped doing it when gas prices got so high.

Now it is like we are going back to house hunting again. We started in the neighborhood close to our place. The house was pretty, well-furnished, and was newly built. The interior looked neat with plenty of decor...lovely paintings and stunning chandeliers in the living room. But the price was not cheap. We were speechless when we saw the specs. :)
